Well got it back, the case is not black but brownish. But it actually looks really good, once assembled. The PVD is really resistant. I tried using a 3M sponge to take some of it off in the inside of the case, after rubbing very hard for a good, 2/3 mins (no jokes please), nothing. Its a very hard and durable coating! I will be doing this again to try and get a more blacker finish. Enjoy the pics.

Well ive just received the watch case and parts back from the PVD company BUT As you can see in the pictures the PVD has turned out to be a brown colour, I have no idea why as it should have been black A big disappointment but as we all know there are disappointments in this game. Anyone have any advice as to why it turned out brown? It was micro blasted beforehand and then PVDed by TiAlN process. Cheers Here are the pics, ive included the black rep PVD watch as a comparison

I have no idea about the rep PVD but its looks just like black shiny paint. Before i sent it off to the Company for micro blasting, cleaning and PVD, i got a 3M pad, you know the ones with the coarse green side and rubbed it gently and the black rep PVD came off easily. Im sure the only way to go is to get the real PVD done. Watch this space, very soon i will have it

Update 23rd Oct Spoke to the PVD company today and all the parts are coated except the crown. They told me that it was in the chamber and has been coated but it 'fell over' while being coated and so will have to be coated again They guarantee that itll be finished tomorrow and also shipped out tomorrow. Ill keep all updated on progress.

sssurfer, If you have any 7750 movement panerais, its case might work as i think its thicker than the ETA 2836 movement case that i tried.

Sorry but i dont like this at all, even if i was loaded i wouldnt even think twice about it.

UPDATE 21st OCT 2007 The case and all screws have been micro blasted and will be PVD coated first thing on Monday morning, tomorrow, then it will be posted on Monday afternoon back to me so, if all goes t plan i should have it by the end of this week. Here hoping it turns out good! Ill keep all informed

Me too I tried a PAM 63 case and it didnt work due to the height with the case tube. Id also love to get a proper case but i think the PAM 90 case is slightly thicker than other PAM cases due to the movement.

Yes the rotor will fit fine i think. Can someone confirm this?

Not sure about Decorating the rotor, but my SMP chrono has a decorated rotor already. Ill PM you with details about the group buy

The Dial will fit no problem but the hands will be a problem. The hour and minute hands are ok but the subdial hands and center chrono hand will not fit due to the different size of New Asian movement and ETA. The Zigmeister can overcome this though if necessary. Other than that the ETA will fit fine, Asian stem and crown will fit no problem. I will be doing this swap myself as my Asian movement just broke. Its one of the new style Asian movements with nice engraving, blue screws as well as the rotor being engraved 'Omega 3035', or something. But its the dirtiest movement ive seen, dirt and RUST, yes rust in the movement, really bad!
