  1. Is case thickness such a big deal?? If it were cm's then ok but we are talking mm's yes? I dont care but its a good point, maybe others do If you mind about the case thickness not being right let us know
  2. I buy the movements at $300 each movement Shipping is around $15 by registered airmail. Paypal fees is around $13 so i came to a figure of $330 for everything, including the packaging costs i have to pay for this. All in all im probably losing about $1/2 per movement that a member buys! BUT ITS ALL FOR THE LOVE OF THE FORUM AND WATCHES!!
  3. my oh my you are a bunch of picky bastards! PVD, Swiss ETA and AR.....anything else? OK for this to be feasible i think ill have to get one watch and try the PVD process myself. Theres no point taking orders, getting the money from everyone and then send off for PVD if it turns out crap. This will result in some very unhappy people, so ill do it first and see how it goes and ill get back to you.
  4. 1. Dial color choice, I prefer orange - Any dial colour choice, you decide, same price 2. Lume? - Standard rep lume 3. Screws for the strap. I understand that the first versions had hex screws that would strip easily. - dont know 4. Movement options? - at the moment only Asian DG4813, its a reliable movement and cheap, Swiss will only put the price up 5. AR? Does the watch you are buying have any AR at all - slight AR, maybe can organize double AR coat as well
  5. This price is a rough estimate and DOES NOT include AR coating but it can maybe be arranged
  6. ok list so far: 1. ajoesmith 2. a german in denmark 3. Virgil Hilts 4. tech 5. longshot 6. jkarpas 7. Stephane 8. prof anyone else?
  7. Hi Stephane Thanks for the kind words, yes im an honest guy and this will be my 3rd project/group buy, the other 2 being ETA 7750 group buys. Its the same watch as Pismo's Ill be able to get for $140/$150, the PVD coating will be $?, i have yet to hear from swdivad but chieftang PMed me about it and he'll let me know the cost and if the PVD coat is good or not. The extra cost will be for postage. so 1 x watch $140/$150 1 x PVD Coat say $100, not sure probably more shipping around $40, this includes shipping to get PVD and registered shipping to the customer. Total around - $300 - please note this is only an estimate, the final figure may be more, depending on PVD costs and also postage costs back and forth.
  8. This is fantastic news!!!!! AR can be done via chieftang For Swiss ETA 7750 movements i can still get them at $300 And The Zigmeister can do the mods! I like it when a plan comes together!
  9. What The Zigmeister will do is use a Swiss ETA 7750 but also use the transfer gears from the asian 7750 and a few other parts. This will make a kind of 7753 layout, but will have a recessed date wheel, but this is no problem on the HBB as it also has a recessed date wheel.
  10. Not sure where to get it in Europe but ofrei has it for $25 maybe also cousins UK as they have the DG2813, so they may also have the DG4813 As for the price, currently the dealers have it for $180, i should be able to get it for around $140/150 if we get the numbers.
  11. Thanks for the offer TWP, however i have sourced this watch cheaper than any dealer. Lets wait to hear back from swdivad about the PVD coating
  12. No, it has DG4813 28,800bph. A reliable movement, comparable to ETA 2836, cheap and readily available, only $25
  13. UPDATE ON PAGE 3 I have an idea I really like the New B&R 03-92 42mm with date. Its much better than the 46mm as it smaller and also has a date. Here is the plan. The PVD coating on this watch is not real PVD and looks crap. If my memory serves me correct, swdivad, a member in australia has a contact for PVD coating. What ill do is 1 - organize the buying of the watches 2 - disassemble the watch from the case 3 - Send the case to get PVD coating 4 - Reassemble the watch 5 - Post to members All you have to do is pay for it, no hassle and no fuss. Ill have to contact swdivad if he can organize the PVD coating for us If this is feasible then please post your interest here
  14. I have decided that my next will be a HBB but not sure which one. I done want gold or yellow Any ideas?
  15. The Asian 7750 slow beat 21,600 bph is famous for either running too slow or way too fast. Its just in the assembly, no oil and lots of dirt etc in the movement. A complete strip down, cleaning and oiling will solve the problem. Or you could get on the group buy for an ETA 7750, a good investment and money well spent
  16. Yeah i know this, the second hand flaw is more obvious as its on the dial! Anyway, looks like i might ppick one up but dont know which one to get. Any ideas, i dont want the Rose gold models or the mellow yellow!
  17. Isnt there a glaring flaw on the HBB's The red paint on the second hand should extend longer, closer to the 'H'. On the rep it looks too short? Anyone notice this? EDIT: i see this has been fixed in the newer releases.
  18. Yes exactly the same hand sizes.
  19. Was just wanting to look at what kind of Hbb's there are but cant find them on josh's site. Is it just me or are they there?
  20. 1 more person. anyone?
  21. ok update Need just 1 more person 1 - ajoesmith - ok 2 - magagne - PAID - OK 3 - archibald - Waiting for payment 4 - Tx Walker - PAID - OK 5 - 6 - promotersf - PAID - OK 7 - promotersf - PAID - OK 8 - satori- Waiting for payment 9 - leatherback - Waiting for payment 10 - PAMman - PAID - OK
  22. Phoband I have already said this in another thread, cant remember which one The movement in the Asian SFSO is the DG2813 which is 21,600 bph The similar movement that is 28,800 bph is the DG 4813, it is currently being used in the new B&R 03-92 The DG2813 is similar in thickness to the ETA 2836, however it beats at 21,600 The DG4813 is similar in thickness to the ETA 2892, an it beats at 28,800 bph. The DG 2813 can be picked up from Ofrei or cousins UK for about $10 The DG 4813 is slightly more expensive at around $25, but still very cheap for a reliable movement. link to ofreis chinese movements
  23. OK GREAT we just need 2 more people!!!
  24. Well 2 people have pulled out of the group buy and we there are 3 places left!! Please this cannot happen if we dont have the numbers!!
