  1. In a word - YES. Of course its worth it. We get 95% perfect reps for about 1/10th - 1/20th of the price. We can then have some fun modding them and also have more than a few in the collection. Just imagine being on a average salary and only having 1 really, really nice watch. Waking up to the same watch is just boring IMHO. Enjoy the collecting, the love of the forum and the wealth of info here. Also enjoy reps while we still can as maybe in future they may or may not be so abundant. By the way i recently got help from Kruzer00, he helped me with some items i wanted shipped from the US to Oz. He did take a while to do it, around 1 month, but becasue of the delay he posted them for FREE!!. Hows that for generosity. Simply put you wont find a better bunch of people than on here - RWG I LOVE IT - Thank you everyone for making it such a good place
  2. Looks good, what did you do to the bezel to achieve that finish? Also how did you remove the black paint from the engraving on the case back?
  3. I think its simply a case of the movement screw being screwed in too far/much. the movement screw should press on the movement holder to hold the dial/mobvement in place, just like a lot of our reps but in your photo the screw head is sitting under the movement holder. I think what oliver said will work though. Rotate everything until you can expose the screw head and then unscrew the screw completely and it should come out.
  4. Nice watch but why bother? The 3717 is much nicer, more classy and has less possible flaws
  5. OK photobucket still isnt working but i used imageshack to upload pics. Can you see the difference?
  6. There is a quick fix you can do that will temporarily fix it. I think that the chrono hand is slipping. And as The Zigmeister said the way to fix it is to take apart and glue it but if you dont really use the chrono that much you can try this: Start the chrono and let it run for about 35secs or until the chrono hand passes the 30 second mark. Then stop the chrono and press reset. By doing this, if the chrono hand is slipping, it will reset closer to 12 oclock position. Try and let me know, it has worked for me in the past. It also doesnt require any disassembly
  7. Am i the only one?? Ive always used photobucket to post images here. Imtrying to post images in my IWC 3717 movement post but they arent showing up. When i click on edit all the links are there, and so should show up When i copy my photo link and paste it into a new internet window the image works fine. Can anyone help on this?? Can mods check the post for me?? Thanks
  8. I havent been interested in this wath but those pics look really good. Maybe this question has been asked before so i apologise: Can the asian movement be swapped for ETA? are the hand sizes the same?
  9. my pics arnt showing up, anyone know why?? Im using photobucket like i always do. hmmmmmmmmmmm
  10. Ive just received the IWC 3717 pilot and have to say its a beauty, maybe the nicest watch i have and seen!!!!! I bought the slow beat version as i wanted to swap the movement to a ETA 7750 as the hand sizes are the same. Well ive just opened the case back to check that the movement was a slow beat (also did a sound check prior to opening and it sounded slow as well) movement and, well, it looked different to other slow beat 7750 movements i have. On the old style 7750 all the 'plates' on the movement are shiny and pretty badly finished. I think The Zigmeister refers to them as it looked as if someone had ice skated ovr the top of them. Anyway this slow beat has different coloured plates. Looks the same kind of plates as the new asian fastbeat movement. Also some of the parts are different. I cant explain it but its not the same movement. Maybe The Zigmeister can comment as maybe he has swapped some of these slow beat IWC's for ETA Has anyone else noticed this?? Sorry about the pics, to compenste for this ive included a nice bird! as well as everyone looking at my avatar! NOTE the movement in the case is what i think a new old style asian 7750. THe movement on it own outside the case is the old style.
  11. Did i reasd that the chopard deployment buckle couldnt be used on different straps? Cos ive just used it no problem on another strap. maybe i read wrong
  12. A few words for you: BUY A GEN! and stop your moaning. Remember we are dealing with reps here, yes reps.
  13. The lemania/venus copy movement is out as it doesnt have a date! It will probably be the 7750.
  14. Beautiful Watch Id love to get a homer crown ut he doesnt have any Do you have any spares??
  15. I quite like FM watches but these are gold - how is angus going to do the gold?? To date most of the gold watches do not stand the test of time. I recommend that angus chooses a Stainless steel model to rep.
  16. This is the one im going to buy http://www.yodobashi.com/enjoy/more/i/cat_...1/19158040.html Only 29.400yen around $240 - CHEAP!!!!!
  17. @ Ryaku The samurai is beautiful. Ive tried it on in japan and its sits really nice on the wrist and its just a beautiful watch. Im going back to japan in december just for a holiday and i will buy this watch. Ill probably get the titanium, blue dial samurai. Ill post pics when i get it.
  18. Good write up. I will be doing the same very shortly but installing a Swiss ETA 7750 at the same time. I also like the use of the post it notes good idea! for anyone who also wants to change from Asian to Swiss check this thread: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...amp;hl=guide+to

  22. Ive ordered a few PC parts off ebay and the sellers wont ship to australia. Basically i need an american member to help me out. Give me your address and ill pay for the items and get them shipped to your address in the US and you simply send to me in australia. Ill, of course, pay for the shipping. Ive already asked a few members but they are either on hols or busy with work so I need the forums help. If you can help let me know Thanks
  23. You say finepics got you a new case, does it have the date pusher on the side of the case at the 8 oclock position?? The reason im asking is that i got this watch and planned to swap the case for a regular PAM case without the date pusher as the gen doesnt have the date pusher. Well, it didnt work as the PAM 090 case is slightly thicker than the normal PAM case and so the stem didnt fit properly.
