  1. Seems like the same idea as the UN Freak. I like the Freak better.
  2. I believe the transitional model is when they changed the hand stack to keep the GMT hand from hitting the raised markers, so the hour adjustable movement would be the one for this.
  3. The real watchsmiths should welcome these methods as it will no doubt increase their profits. I do perform several "MacGuyver" type methods when working on reps. However, I know my limitations, as I haven't even thought about opening my genuine Breitling. I like experimenting and playing. I limit my playing to cases and such.. I don't have the patience to work on movements.
  4. Ralphie: "I want a fully modded, Swiss Movement, PAM 127 with upgraded strap and genuine buckle!!!!" Mom: "You'll put your eye out."
  5. I had a Tissot Seastar 1000 which is 300m and it had a dispaly back.. Come to think of it the Seastar is about that same price. I would probably go for the Tissot again over them. Also remember that Swiss Army makes some very nice watches in that price range. The $500 Swiss watch CAN be found.. it just won't have a big dollar name. Overall the Xezo stuff does look ok though.
  6. Looks way too fishy. Like a closed font "9" and the markers look fake-aged.

    My New Sub

Here is another pic.. and the story. This is mostly a Sash Best Sub. When I got the Sash Sub I was pretty pleased, but noticed some things that just didn't sit right with me. First and most noticable was the position of the date, too far to the right, but the cyclops was right over the date making for a nice looking date, just not in the right spot. The next thing was the height of the crystal, it seemed a hair too low, and lastly the wight of the whole watch was a bit on the light side. Now, don't look at this as a negative review of the Sash Best... It's definately a very nice watch. Now here is what I did to it. Complete disassemble (just the watch not the movement) Total Cape Cod polish (notice the rehaut has lost it's dullness) and the bracelet is much smoother now. Installed complete movement, dial and hands from an older TWG Best (before the Ultimate and Perfect was released) This put the date in the right spot as the TWG one got that better, however this opened up another problem as the TWG crystal would not work.. Dug through my parts box and installed a crystal from a 2 year old Abay Yachtmaster (perfect fit and cyclops location) Put everything back together using the case back from before mentioned Yachtmaster which was a perfect fit and literally weighed twice as much as the Sash case back Gave it a final polishing and there we go.. all took about 2hrs while watching TV. Not "Perfect", but not bad. Wouldn't mind a re-lume and a genuine bezel pearl.

    My New Sub

Here is my new Sub.. let me know what you think before I tell it's story.
  9. Mine was a 1980 Camaro bought in 1986. I miss that one.
  10. I would think "geez.. can't that guy afford a new watch?".
  11. How about "The Watch formerly known as MBW"
  12. Genuine Sub bracelets feel cheezy too.
  13. The best reason for having an HE valve: looks hella cool.. that's it.
  14. Well.. Lindsey is obviously a person of refinement and taste, like Paris Hilton. I mean to be wearing TWO Rolexes (or is it Roli?), she must be better then everyone else.
  15. I think it's pointless for the number of genuines to have HE valves. I would bet that 90% of the watches with valves only get wet when someone washes their hands. My Steelfish has one and it's not like it was something I was looking for when I bought it. It's waterproof to 6000ft.. yes.. 6000. I think that kind of depth rating on a mass production watch is more a gee-whiz factor than anything else.
  16. http://cgi.ebay.com/ROLEX-SUBMARINER-SKULL...1QQcmdZViewItem This is drawing a mustache on the Mona Lisa.
  17. Am I the only one who just peels the stoopid thing off? I never really liked the stickers.
  18. The classic things to look for in a 14060 (no-date) are: Shallower Rehaut than a 16610 NON-SEL End Links (Even the 2006-2007 model still has the 2 piece endlinks) Holes in the lugs. No etched crown on the crystal The 14060 is a watch that never evolves. I think the only change this watch has ever seen is the move from Tritium to Luminova. I was just looking at genuines this past Satruday, both a 2002 Pre-Owned and a brand new one... No difference. I actually love this watch and if I ever do put down the cash for genuine Rolex, this will be it.
  19. Wow, this is fun. It's like one of those "How many things are wrong with this picture" games I used to play in the back seat on long boring trips.
  20. Wow.. that stinks. I guess they think you're going to keep it forever? What about insurance policies?
  21. Recently I've been getting nostalgic about a few weeks I spent in Corozal Belieze in the 80's and I'm wondering how much has changed. I was there fixing up some houses as a volunteer. I stayed the whole time on the second floor of a Chinese restaurant named REXO, which was right next door to a nice lady named Mirna (who housed a few others from the team).. she had a cat named Dirt. Anyway, if you have been to Corozal recently, a few things I remember, and would like updates on are: Is REXO still around? Run by Mr and Mrs. Lo. Is Tony's by the Sea still there? I remember the brochure pics had white sandy beaches, the reality was a cement pier There was a little store run by a cool guy named Rene, this was close to REXO, I think on 3rd street maybe.. There was a guy with a trash can welded on to the front of a bicycle he used to sell homemade ice cream made from a local fruit out of. Darn tasty stuff for .25 cents Belizean. On the bus into Mexico (Chetumal), kids would sell homemade tamalies wrapped in banana leaves out of paint buckets for $1 Belizean, darn tasty as well.. I was really daring in my youth, as far as this stuff goes, I still am. Cay Chapel is a resort island off the coast of Belieze City, we went there for a day, and I noticed that a room and surf & turf dinner combo was about $15.. I bet this has changed a bit. Corozal is one place on my list to visit again. I am hesitant because I don't want the memory spoiled if it's gone downhill. I know alot of small towns in Central America have had "issues" in the past 20 years. This is a place I felt completely safe walking around day or night. By the time we were finished alot of the town knew us. Well.. enough for now, back to work.
  22. Yet Hip Hop makes the cut? I'm sorry, but Hip Hop is an assult on the ears and mind. And Counry Music kills brain cells. Give me 80's music, all types from Hard Rock to Wuss Rock. Bon Jovi, Poison, Metallica, Huey Lewis, Boston, Forigner, The Go Go's, Debbie Gibson, Ratt, Motley Crue, Devo, Franky Goes to Hollywood... to name a few. This is why I have XM Radio
  23. The sad thing about this watch is that if it said "SUBMARINER" instead of "COLAMARINER", you could pass it off as a special edition. What average person wouldn't believe a Coke special Rolex whe they had one for freakin' Domino's Pizza.
  24. I emailed "Paul" about the Perfect vs the Ultimate and he told me the case was totally different, so I assume it's the same case as the other Perfect ones, but he just hasn't changed the pics yet, which is extremely poor marketing on his part, but maybe he dosen't need to, who knows.
