  1. Good question.. I too would like to know if this takes a Sea-Dweller insert or Submariner one.
  2. I'm pretty sure the pic he posted is one HE edited as an example of the one in the store. For illustration purposes only... If it is missing that text it's either a rep, a redial or a highly collectible genuine mis-printed dial.. very rare.
  3. This is just me thinking out loud, but I was thinking about weather a system like Priceline could work here. Say a separate WatchLine area was opened and members could post in there, but no one but authorized Dealers could see the posts.. Maybe a standard form or something where you listed the watch you wanted and the price you are willing to pay. That way if a Dealer wanted to move a product at a reduced price he, or she could do it without the other members or other dealers knowing.. especially if they setup a different payment method than is regularly used (if they cared).
  4. Ok, then something is wrong with that whole post, I read through it and he states: "came right out of the box that way guys!!!" .. Man, I really want one of these. I wish there was a system with the dealers where you got to see a pic of exactly the watch that will ship. I know this is how some of the smaller dealers work, and it is preferable.
  5. I don't know.. I saw the pic of how thick the crown tube is.. I can't imagine filing them THAT good with a tube that wide and not damaging the tube or the seal. I think the pics on Repgeek look stock, I just want to make sure I know who that one came from.
  6. OK.. I was just about to oder this from Angus based on him saying he has the same watch. Can someone.. ANYONE confirm that the pics on Repgeek are stock from Josh? I want to get this ordered today, but I want to get the right one. Thanks.
  7. Ok, when I saw this on TZ today I thought of this thread.. this is supposed to be a Z series gen...

    MBW 1680 mod

Just use the gen spring bars and a Nato strap.
  9. It's probably a heat rash, I never get a watch rash unless my wrist is sweating. I was going to make a joke about being allergic to cats but there is no way a fine leather strap made in China would turn out to made from cats... right?
  10. Unless it has a 2892 no matter how much you pay it will still have the crown in the wrong place, so wait until the normal dealers has his design for the bezel.
  11. It might not be coming from here.. I get those at work and we are on a really tight email system, the only places I used my work email on is American Express, airlines and Amtrak. If it looks like its coming from inside the company it may be a zombie PC inside your firewall, it can get your email from someone else's address book.
  12. My first watch was a manual winding Swiss movement "Speed Racer" (yes, the cartoon.. I was about 5 when I got it) watch back in the early 70's... and I still have it and it still runs, never serviced.
  13. It's actually a huge improvement. You think the stock one is ok until you compare it to a gen, the fonts are different and the dates are more centered.
  14. I just got this courtesy of cskent69... This is actually my second Racing Carrera, but my original has a few issues and this one was a sweet deal considering the movement has been The Zigmeistered and a Swiss 7750 date wheel installed. The rotor on this is really quiet, my other one sounds like a rock tumbler in comparison. I also like the bracelet. Here are few bad pics.
  15. That's a nice strap you have.. I like the red stitching, however, the rubber one that comes with it is just made to be cut. You size it to your wrist, close the pinch piece on the buckle and cut the slack. The downside to this is there is no going back. Also, an appropriate leather strap that can come with this model is the racing one with the big holes.
  16. Ehh.. I don't like it much. I'd rather have an Audi RS8.
  17. Well.. if you killed two people and EVERYONE knew you killed them, yet you were still allowed to walk around in polite society.. I guess you might be a bit "off". I have no sympathy for OJ.
  18. Here's a link that might actually be helpful... http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301343

    Road Rage

Good job.. I hope he had to clean his leather seat when he got home. I'm pretty tolerant of people when I see them doing something like that, it's when the person is on the phone and dosen;t see the light turn green that gets my rage up... and don't even get me started on people who don't use the acceration lane on a merge strip. As far as the homeless, I don't mind giving money to ones that look genuine, however, I work in Baltimore City and for every one genuine handicapped homeless there are 50 drug addicts hanging near my building.. And I work in the GOOD part of Baltimore... Baltimore sucks.
  20. All older iPods are programmed to break when new models are released.. didn't you know that?
  21. Well.. Speaking of orange cars, this is mine, not just one that looks like it, actually mine.
  22. Face it.. if you REALLY want a Rolex, nothing else will do, because you want the brand more than the actual function of the watch. Get whichever you like best. I personally would get a pepsi GMT, not the TT one if I were buying a gen. Or a plain sub. There are many watches that are worlds better than Rolex, but if you want one, don't get anything else because you won't like it and the resale on anything non-Rolex is horrible. I know what I'm talking about here.. I bought a gen Steelfish when I wanted a Rolex GMT.. I should have just saved the extra $2k and got the GMT. Just like when I bought an Audi instead of the Porsche I wanted
  23. Well, at least Rolex must have cut production costs since the final point of assembly for this fine timepiece is the inside of a horse's anus.
  24. Here are my two newly aquired Tags, both from members. I wanted the blue Link and the Racing Carrera.. I might be after a few more, not sure why I'm on a Tag Heuer thing right now, but whatever.
  25. The easiest way to spot a Steelfish rep (coming from someone who owned a gen) is the serifs on the 12, 6, 9, and box surrounding the date window. On the reps the serifs are too big, not by much, but I can spot it. However I've been told I'm not normal...
