  1. Nice POrikaa! Excellent value for the money.
  2. There are some funky Diesels out there, that's for sure. I am also not a big fan of the newer cuts and washes, so I tend to just collect certain washes from 2003 - 2005; some 2006/2007, but that's about as far as it goes. I can't say that I agree about them not being good value, however. Sure, they're $200 - $270 a pair, but they definitely stand the test of time. I have pairs from 2002/2003 that are still like new, and worn frequently. However, I do rotate through 20 - 25 odd pairs, so some get more seat time than others. Any of you guys like the dry/selvedge stuff? Seems intriguing, but the cuts offered seem rather bland and generic. Also... I'm not sure how I feel about wearing a pair of jeans for 12mos. straight without washing. As a slight detour... A friend of mine was recently trying to convince me to try a pair of Dior MIJ's; granted I can appreciate Hedi Slimane's stuff, it just isn't something I can see myself wearing.
  3. Hmmm... I could never get into 7FAM. I bought 3 pairs and they all feel thin and flimsy like they're about to rip. Mostly baggy and sloppy looking cuts, too. About as good as GAP jeans, but at twice the price or more.
  4. If you can get 2 - 3 good working movements out of the lot, I'd say it's a pretty good score. Granted, they look to be in dire need of servicing...
  5. Very nice! Looks great! I especially love the little arrow hand for the PR indicator... Very cool.
  6. There comes a point where big watches just look ridiculous. This Oris has crossed that line.

  8. I can certainly understand where you're coming from; I'm quite particular as well when it comes to the little details. However, I seem to recall that a date changeover within 15min of 12:00 is accetable for gen Rolex; i.e. if you were to bring your watch back to the dealer to have the date trued up closer to midnight with a 15 minute descrepancy, they are likely to ask you to try and live with it Personally, I'd just have it addressed when it's time for service. With regards to dial color- There's quite a lot of variation with gen dials. I think the overall fine details of the font, font color, markers and surface texture are probably more crucial in terms of having a convincing dial...
  9. Well, you did just receive the watch after all I think it would be better for you to enjoy it for a while instead of having to send it back for a fix right away (that's no fun)
  10. Not a difficult fix, but something that I wouldn't stress about until you have the watch serviced. 20min +/- isn't significant; not enough to send a watch back for alignment, and not detrimental to the function of the watch. I think gen allows for a tolerance of around 15min for the date change anyways.
  11. That looks like quite a rush, Omni! I bet that was exhilarating!
  12. It's not uncommon for A7750's to require a service from the start; they are oft times dry of oil, or in some cases over-oiled. Once serviced, it should be a fairly stable and long lasting movement. Worth the money to have a proper servicing if this is a long term watch for your collection...
  13. Please, do not manually wind the watch. For further information as to why you should avoid this practice, please read this thread: A7750 handwinding damage. Wind at your own risk. Unfortunately, it may be time to have the watch serviced. Intermittent running not a good sign
  14. Edwin- Here's the completed watch: 4th gen PO completed... Cheers, R
  15. That is my first pref as well. Think I only have a need for a dress shirt and/or suit maybe once a year at that
  16. The last one that I owned... MBW closed back Jumbo... And before I did the canon pin mod...
  17. The watch in your link is not a ROO per se (Royal Oak Offshore), but rather it is just the Royal Oak. The 15300 is a nice watch, though a little thicker than the old 15202 Jumbo (the 15300 is newer). In terms of gen: The newer 15300 uses the inhouse 3120 while the older 15202 uses the JLC based caliber 2121. The 3120 is slightly larger in profile, so the case is a bit thicker than the older model. The hands and dial indicies have also been updated to appear more faceted for a modern touch. In terms of rep; you can get one of the old MBK/MBW Jumbos that is based on the 15202; those are fairly nice, but they do have flaws and inaccuracies when compared to gen. There is also a 15300 rep, but I have not seen nor handled that one to provide any good insight on those. Good luck on your hunt!
  18. For me- Yes. I like everything crisp and stiff I realize this is all personal preference, but am curious how you guys like your shirts?
  19. I think a plain and basic Tissot T-Touch would be nice. Not too ostentatious, and with good functionality as well.
  20. That is one sorry excuse for a hunk of junk.
