  1. Shouldn't have any loss of water resistance properties, unless the gasket was pinched or knocked out of it's channel when threading the caseback on. For what it's worth, I took my franken PO in to be pressure tested after I had the case open and performed all of my mods; still passed with flying colors. If you have any doubts on yours, I would recommend having your watch tested as well.
  2. Very sorry to hear the sad news, paneraifreak. Well wishes and kind regards... Ubi
  3. I concur, chief. These crystals are solid...
  4. B- What serial back are you looking for? I think I have a D serial solid back sitting in the parts box... I was going to pair it with that dial, but ended up using my Jimmy case for a Pre-A instead Let me know if you want it...
  5. WM9 lug shots: And with an H2 gasket, you should have a crystal profile like this:
  6. Congarts, chief! Looking forward to seeing some proper chieftang quality pics of that beauty
  7. Hit up narikaa... He may be able to help you...
  8. Your only option is another POrikaa crystal; the gen won't fit as the case for the POrikaa is not to gen specifications like the 4th gen 42mm...
  9. Then you'll likely have to fold the links out to resize (if it's the one I'm thinking of).
  10. Depending on the bracelet you have, some of those faux rivet screw pins are actually double sided- Like the Pre-V lug bars. Basically a screw head on each side. You'll need two screwdrivers in that case- One to hold one side steady and the other to turn the other screw. Such was the case with the old ones- New ones might be more like the standard screw pins (one sided). Those double sided ones are a major pain in the arse.
  11. Agree with By-Tor. The flat 'S' is my personal pref, only because it is a fairly well done dial, and quite uncommon when it comes to gen. Very unique (though I have seen at least two gens with the flat S dial turn up within the last 3 months; more than I had seen in a year prior. Maybe an effect of the current economic climate forcing the sale of unnecessary lux goods). Regarding this particular watch- The dial trimming is quite puzzling to me. Very bizarre. I see that there is a 'shitinerand' caseback as well. Don't think that is standard fare for these. Looks like there might be a H1 gasket on the crystal, as the profile doesn't look quite high enough on some of the profile shots. Might also want to clean up the CG's a bit, but otherwise looks good...
  12. Weds- FGD'd, Jimmy cased Pre-A on a Dirk: Thurs- Franken Snowflake:
  13. Sorry, I do not. It's gone back to it's owner, along with the watch
  14. I'll likely be getting mine done by Chief, as his AR is far superior to Omega's AR. Recently had a gen crystal in hand a few weeks back and compared with the Chief AR on my 3717; there's just no comparison.
  15. Start by reading some of the pinned reviews in each subsection. Plenty of pictorals and comparisons are available to give you a good idea on what matches your criteria.
  16. I don't think I have ever owned a single two tone in my life. However, building a solid 18K YG 16528 is on my long list of projects; way down at the very bottom of the list.
  17. Someone's been busy! Some great new acquisitions... Now, the hard part; figuring out which ones get wrist time and when. I bet the UN sees a pretty healthy share of daylight...
  18. I dunno TeeJay... She looks like she's laughing at him for throwing such a Streisand-like punch. Kinda like she's saying: *cackle* *cackle* That all you got, BITCH?! HAHAHAHA....
  19. Since I run 19x8.5(f) and 19x9.5®, tire rotation means dismounting tires and switching L - R, and not F - B. The dismount is necessary since the tread is uni-directional; I can't just switch the left wheel with the right. Major pain in the arse, time consuming and of course, not free And what's worse is that I'm lowered 2.5" and can only align so much; it's not really the camber that kills me, but the toe-in/out that causes the most wear. These days, I just run the tires into the ground. Kind of sucks when buying new tires and I look at the tread pattern- The inside shoulders get well worn, but the outside shoulders still have some good tread left. Speaking of which, I either need to get new tires or trade the car in... I'm due.
  20. Example: And this is what Rolex lume looks like under magnification: I'll try and get some shots of my own later today or tomorrow to put up. But that's essentially what the surface finish should look like...
  21. Gloss lume is incorrect; the gen has flat lume, and under magnification looks a lot like snow packed into the indicies and hands.
  22. I like to term my watches as 'bespoke' (bĭ-spōk'; An individual or custom-made product or service) when someone asks about them and wants to know the history of what was required to build, why I build, the process in putting everything together, etc. Since I build my watches for me, I think the term fits quite well...
