  1. No experiences with that site, per se... But I did manage to pick this one up on Der Bay for a few bucks: No idea what era, etc... Could be vintage...
  2. Sites like Getat, Jackson Tse, J&W, NDT, etc. all sell parts...
  3. Yeah... It's kind of funny. My wife is always busting my chops about it. And, in some instances, I might have the entire box set to 10:10 save for a single piece which is being worn. What can I say? I'm a bit particular when it comes to that stuff...
  4. Sunday evening- Franken 42mm PO Monday- Franken 9411 Snowflake Tues- Blacksteel
  5. I always set my watches to 10:10-ish when they're wound down and relaxing in the watch box. Just my OCD kicking in...
  6. Looks nice, but another crap lume job. If you get it, be sure to have the lume re-worked.
  7. It depends on the reference your watch is. Regardless of whether it's a PN or not, the style of pusher will depend on model ref. -6239 (pump pusher) -6240 (pump pusher) -6241 (pump pusher) -6262 (pump pusher) -6263 (screw down pusher) -6265 (screw down pusher) Essentially, the basic rule of thumb is that if the dial does not have 'OYSTER' printed on it, it should have pump pushers (whereas the Oyster dials should have screw down pushers). Now, if a pump model has been in for service, it is absolutely possible for that particular watch to have retained it's original non-Oyster dial, but to have possibly had it's pushers replaced with screwdown or vice versa (or even perhaps both the dial and pushers replaced with new RSC replacement parts). This would make for a non-matching example, but if the reference model correlates to the papers etc, there's no major concern. Of course, gen collectors would prefer the original combo for collecting and value/investment reasons. On the flip side of that, you should not see a 6263 or 6265 model with pump pushers fitted.
  8. Nice work, Pugs! Might have to do a 2892 transplant in mine afterall... And the datewheel certainly makes a huge difference, doesn't it? Looking good!
  9. I agree. Very cool! I've actually seen a gen with similar characteristics; two small little posts poking out of the dial. I'll see if I can dig up a pic and post it...
  10. Thanks again, one and all for helping make this day fun and special for me. I appreciate your thoughts and kindness and it means much to me... Especially the Billary commando-cooter-shot cake, and the Ron Jeremy and midget stripper pics. You guys know I have a soft spot for that kind of stuff! Cheers! R
  11. The 1675 is an odd bird when it comes to reps. You'd think it wouldn't be hard to replicate, but there must be some reason for the lack of good quality examples out there. As Euno mentioned, the 1675 is in fact very thin, with a very shallow rehaut. It wears so thin, I'd almost swear it was a dress watch... Also interesting to note is the 5.3mm crown... Makes for setting the date a lot of fun with the slow set 1570...
  12. Well, take into consideration that the 2894 is 6.1mm in height, while the base 7750 is 7.9mm; the standard 7750 alone will require a thicker case to accomodate it (we're talking almost 2mm here). Consider that a modified 7750 relocating the seconds to 3:00 will require additional plates, etc. for the transfer gears (which will only add to the height), the result will mean that any rep utilizing this movement will be inaccurate in dimension compared to it's 2894 gen counterpart. i.e. the case will be too thick and bulky. If the rep is to use the same measurements for the diameter of the case as per the genuine, this will mean that the watch will be largely unbalanced and clumsy. Sadly, due to the complex nature of the DD module, I don't think a proper 2894 clone will be a possibility for us. Personally, I'd be more than content with a manual wind vintage variation... Easier to do, and with a Heuer logo on the dial (minus the TAG portion of it), I'd be even more excited about it.
  13. Hit up T for his T-48 crowns... He's got some good ones
  14. Well, what can I say? Thanks everyone for the well wishes and the Birthday salutations! You guys are family to me, and I love you all Heh... Yeah, so another year has come and gone; 32 years old today. On this day I usually take a few moments and look back on life, and it's interesting to see how much things have changed in such a short amount of time. And, somehow I don't feel much different. Interesting to reflect on even the last 5 or 10 years... And it's fun to see where life takes you on the adventure. I'm thankful and blessed to have everything I could ever ask for, most especially family, friends and health. Thank you everyone for everything... This means quite a lot to me
  15. I've sent him El Primeros and V23/72's to service, and never an issue or concern.
  16. Quite interesting, W! I've never really understood the HBB appeal, but this one does look intriguing. Must admit, it is very nice! But looks difficult to read...
  17. Fantastic as usual, Maciek! Looks like a lot of fun!
  18. Absolutely not. There are different factories producing parts like cases, bezels, etc. Not all are universal and not all share the same measurements, dimensions etc. Narikaa's 42mm has a bezel that is .5mm larger at the I.D. than, say a 4th generation PO rep; the O.D. I think is almost a full mm larger than the 4th gen's. As such, the crystal is likely to be a few tenths of a mm larger on the narikaa PO; otherwise, you'd end up with a slight gap where the crystal and bezel insert meet. The 4th generation PO rep will accept gen parts as if it were a genuine PO, but to my knowledge and experience, the case used on the 4th gen is the only 42mm rep that is capable of accepting the majority of parts like gen (most notably the crystal and the bezel/insert).
  19. EL used to say that rep water resistance was good for 50m; 50m dash in the rain Reps have come a long way... And with the technology out there to produce/manufacture to precision tolerances, there's no reason why a good quality rep can't be water resistant with the proper gaskets and seals.
  20. Can we expect to see some pics soon, D?
