  1. VERY nice! Gen dial would finish it off nicely!
  2. Very interesting topic! And great information here as well! Quite a lot of science behind gold plating...
  3. Could be an off branded piece that simply has a Navi style look to it- Kind of like Invicta to Rolex. While it might use the Miyota and is low price, it may just be a cheap gen with a knock off look
  4. Great pieces this week, gang! Everyone's looking sharp!
  5. If I may suggest- Perhaps consider purchasing your 7750 based watches pre-owned; you'll not only avoid the depreciation factor in buying new, but you can also inquire on movement performance as well. Granted, I think it's always a good idea to have these movements overhauled when first received as it's good to get a baseline on service, at least you'll have an idea on how well it's running before hand, and can perhaps enjoy the watch for a while before having to send it off for work. When you do send the watch in for service, consider any other items you'd like to address at the time, like lume, AR, etc. Wearing the watch for a short while will allow you the opportunity to get familiar with it and you can then better determine what areas you'd like to upgrade. Good luck! Unfortunately, that's how it sometimes goes with the rep game. You do run into small issues from time to time, but the risk is not limited to reps- Gens can exhibit the same flaws and problems as well
  6. I keep thinking 'Wow... Someone's going to win this gen for the price of a low to mid-range rep!' And no need to worry about: -Crownguards needing to be trimmed -Replacing movements for Swiss -Swapping to a gen dial -Swapping for a gen crown/tube -Changing the bracelet -GMT issues or hand stack inaccuracies BTW... Only 13 tix left...!
  7. Hmmm... Do you have a pic of the case/lug side of the strap?
  8. Typical HK dials... Badly serifed fonts are an instant tell on these, as well as the shape of the coronets, lume, etc.
  9. A gen DRSD or COMEX dial (while not impossible to find) will not make financial sense for a franken MBW. For the money paid on the dial alone, you would be better off just buying a gen vintage Rolex 1665 with some cash to spare.
  10. Spoke with him yesterday evening... I hope he is sleeping right now...
  11. I'm not sure how many chances one might have at obtaining a 1675 GMT at below MSRP when new in 1979! The opportunity is here now, however, with the door wide open
  12. Well, after promptly selling my first PO, another arrived on the same day. So, I figure I may as well hang on to this one and turn it into a test bed for mods. Since the pearl and insert seems to be the weak link on this, I decided to experiment with this aspect first (again). So, here we are. Same method used for the pearl as my last go around; this time I recessed it as per popular demand, and I also trimmed down the back of the insert so that it fits flush in the bezel. The finish on this one is rough; it was a testing piece afterall, but with some refinement to the application it could work. Temporarily fitted: Kind of a hassle to do, though...
  13. Looks pretty good to me? Nice, dark crown and pushers and crisp logo on the side. ...Though, I ain't no TG expert for that matter...
  14. When I had a bad case of bronchitis, the Z-Pak saved my ass. Then I got a pretty severe sinus infection- Emergen-C 4x daily and nasal rinse 2x helped clear that up...
  15. I don't know if I'm allowed? I'm a raffle noobie- First one I've run; I don't even have the benefit of having participated as an end user in one before Doh...
  16. Our Lanikai is out with a pretty severe bout of pneumonia. He's been fighting it off for the past several weeks; it's proven to be pretty stubborn to shake it off. My best wishes for him and hopes for a speedy recovery! It's been tough trying to convince him to slow down, but right now he needs as much rest as possible. Get well brother!
  17. You may participate here: Raffle Link contains the details and specifics. Best of luck to all!
  18. Whoa- Nice collection of Daylights! I know you've put a lot of time into these... The effort shows! Absolutely beautiful!
  19. I may not even use my buckle... It was one of those impulse buys...
  20. On the council for a firm called G1bney, Anth0ny & Fl@herty LLP.
  21. Things have been delayed; no idea for how long. Dealers will release them when they're ready. Until then... Not much anyone can do, except be patient or buy gen.
