  1. The level of detail and attention they put into this one is pretty amazing. Kinda makes you wonder- If the rep factories are able to produce this level of watch and sell it profitably at the price points they set, how much mark up is Graham/BM seeing? Granted, they have some overhead costs into it's design, production, etc. but the rep factories do as well with regards to reverse engineering, materials, production etc.
  2. I thinking perlage! That way, when the light hits it just right... Odets will have something significant and amazingly wonderful to write about!
  3. None the less, it's pretty shitty that someone would steal it at a charity event.
  4. I think there would be significant benefit with this approach. Less downtime being the biggest, but the original crystal can then be sent off for AR after the new one is installed- Great for a spare, or to offer to other members.
  5. Nice! And at that price, you can't go wrong. Good pick up...
  6. Gen 16200 case: Pop the cyclops off: Gen 14270 dial: ETA 2824: Add hands:
  7. I'm going to get my teeth capped in 904L. 904L: The new gold for grills.
  8. Lani- NICE Doxa!! Thurs for me:
  9. Oh, that would be great! Out of the 3, the Aquatimer is my favorite, and the most simple. I would think that model to be the easiest of the 3 to do... If it's in the works, that's good news for us!
  10. The DaVinci might not be to everyone's taste, but I love it on the bracelet. So thick and chunky... And with that dated retro 70's look to it. Kinda nerdy, which is why I like it
  11. What about Homer? Is he still around?
  12. Please, please, please make these happen... And for something funky and different... I beggeth...
  13. Think I'll join Lani on the 9411... And mix in a little Pre-A tonight as well...
  14. Which MBW? Vintage or modern? Vintage SD/Subs have the bezel assembly that is like gen; i.e. you have a bezel with insert, a bezel washer, and a retaining ring that seats against the crystal (acrylic). Essentially, you lift the bezel and insert assembly off the case (it snaps onto the retaining ring), lift the washer and then lift the retaining ring from the case. Once the retaining ring is off, the crystal can be pushed out from behind (with the movement removed). Simply snap a new crystal on, and re-seat the retaining ring, the washer and the bezel. If you have modern, there are some variations in case construction regarding the bezel. Newer models have a bezel assembly like gen; older do not. It would be helpful to know which model MBW you have if it's a modern.
  15. 3 years(!) Yeah... There's plenty to catch up on!
  16. I say go for some new ones as well... Step out of the comfort zone and try something different
  17. Looks great! What do the crowns at 2:00 and 4:00 do? I'm assuming one rotates the inner bezel/tachy and the other..? He Valve?
  18. You know... It's kinda hard for me to say why my behavior is such. With my perception in building, I think a lot of my redundant purchasing comes from a desire to achieve certain kinds of results. In some cases, I buy a watch, build it up and then sell only to try again with a different approach to the same watch. Some instances, I'd sell a watch that had been a long term project of mine and the resulting vacancy of that piece ends up having a greater impact of loss than expected. So, I buy another. Sometimes... I just want more than one. Maybe that is my hoarder's mentality. Lately, I've been learning to just let go. And in the process, I've found that some of my spares and duplicate parts end up being a great help to others. So, my hoarding of parts actually works out to be a benefit of sorts
  19. The watch that you had the recent eBy/PP debacle with?
