  1. The good cancels out the bad... All good!
  2. Gorgeous pics, Lani! You're making me want to go and re-shoot mine now! PP- Now that you mention it, I do see that the hands are an aft set; CWP? I was so consumed by the dial on yours that I didn't even notice it
  3. alanytical- Looks great! You're not making this easy for me
  4. I agree, iceb- MBK Aquanaut would make for an interesting piece; meets the criteria... Understated yet unique look... And great quality too. Only drawback is that damn display back...
  5. Looking forward to the next run, FGD! 203/A would be
  6. Very sorry to hear the news A few of my friends have been laid off or asked to take early retirement packages; difficult situation for some of the ones that need to support their families. Some have had luck with getting on elsewhere, and some even came back to the same company as contractors (at a higher wage, but no benefits). Hopefully, and with some luck, some fate and determination, you'll not be in the job market for long. All the best.
  7. ET- It takes more to own up to one's errors and responsibilities than people sometimes realize or give credit for; I think you're on the right track Your efforts in turning things around will go a long ways to show your level of commitment and integrity. All the best R
  8. I gotta say... I can't stop staring at those indicies. This dial is a work of art...
  9. So, uh... Does this mean that I'm like, your guardian angel or something?
  10. Pretty amazing work. Some tight and precise tolerances there to make it work.... Would probably be enouggh to make me want to tear my hair out.
  11. Always liked the BTR... As well as the El Primero based old school chronograps. Gorgeous pic of a gorgeous watch, BT!
  12. Stilty- It's interesting how much of a parallel path we live within We share a lot of common interests, and if I may say so myself, you have some excellent taste, sir I love my Fryes- Right now, I only have a pair of Frye Dillon boots in the collection. They're by far my favorites and I tend to wear them daily (though with summer coming up, I am not sure if I could endure this). I am also a big fan of Chucks; I need to pick up a new pair soon As of current, I find that I only wear Diesel. I gave TR's a try, but they just don't fit me well, and their style just isn't my style. TR does work well with my wife however; they're her favorite brand. And I agree 100% farquar- I think Diesels are just one of those things where I insist on buying the real deal. I'm very particular when it comes to fit, and I need the consistency of cut when buying these things. It's hard enough trying to determine fit with authentic Diesel; I think I've sized down 2 - 4 sizes in my trial and error (I started with W30 and have found my comfort zone in the 26 - 28 range). Sixx- Don't you guys have TK Maxx over on your side of the pond? I agree- That's a great place to pick up last season's jeans, but here it's sort of hit or miss with regards to sizes, irregular pairs, etc. Unfortunately, I can't really take advantage since most of the washes/cuts I'm after are several years past... Aside from watches, Diesel seems to be my other achilles heel...
  13. Throw some gen bars in and a gen insert, and I'd call this one done. Lookin' good!
  14. NICE case, Stephane! Pete and RobK- NICE gens!! @Lani- Hoping to see some of your trademark macros soon!
  15. Very nice! I am contemplating how this particular piece might fit my 6.8 in. wrist
  16. LOL... Guys, this thread is over a year old. I don't think these are likely to be available any longer... One of those watches that will go down in the fabled myth books along side with a number of other grail one offs, limited runs, etc.
  17. Damn, MP! You've been on a major buying spree lately! The 16622, the PAMs, and now the RBII. Very cool. You know, I have a 6.8" wrist, and found my old steel ROO to be a little on the uncomfy side. VERY thick, heavy and the fact that I had it on a not very forgiving steel bracelet didn't help either. However... A Ti version might be interesting Thanks for sharing your pics and wrist shots. Great as always...
  18. Depending on price, I would be interested! I have just enough PAM projects going on where this would be a good item to have in the arsenal....
  19. Hey Mahler- How does this 47mm beast wear on the wrist? Beautiful watch by the way... There is just something about this Montbrillant that makes me keep coming back to look at it.
  20. Couple of methods that have been suggested before: 1) Roll a piece of duct tape, sticky side out and stick to the back of the case. Use said duct tape to twist off caseback. 2) Use dishwashing gloves to grip and twist the caseback off. Both are known to work, though in some cases, you may need something that provides a little more leverage to get those particularly tight casebacks off. Personally, I just use the tools designed to work with those casebacks. Rolex is a specialized wrench/die set up and Omega should require the Jaxa style tool.
  21. Those vintage brass GPF's are killer, K! I love the aging and patina. Very nice!
  22. I used to wear all in rotation, but am finding that my preference is starting to really gravitate to one or two watches at any given time. The biggest driving factor behind that mindset is that several pieces in the collection need to be serviced; most notably the El Primero Daytonas and my vintage SM300. Then, there are some pieces that just aren't practical for daily life- My Breitling Blacksteel for example, mostly due to it's size. I always manage to kiss door frames with it, clock the kids upside the head on accident with it, etc. Just doesn't work well as a daily in my life, I suppose.
  23. I agree. His dials are really something... Just amazing. I bow down to him and the Pam-Pack. They've really done some great efforts and measures in advancing this hobby
