  1. Haha... Yeah... It was a while back. Not THAT long ago though... I took that picture on the table that I use for my watch bench Have my pics improved since?
  2. Yes... Designate, say one evening to chat meet. I'm not much of a chat nerd, but every now and then it is a lot more fun to have instantaneous discussion without having to wait for a thread to update
  3. Mine never seems to change... 16520 Franken-Daytona, as usual...
  4. Looks pretty damn good. Probably one of the best Royal Oaks to have come out in a very long time! Now I have a dilemma... Get this, or a new old stock Breitling Titanium Seawolf? Perhaps I'll just have to get both
  5. For grins, I'll click on it every now and then... But it seems every time I open it, no one's ever there?
  6. Go with the direction that offers slight resistance. Usually, it's clockwise, or winding towards the top (12:00). Wind until you get significantly more resistance. That's when you'll achieve full wind. Once you hit this point, you'll know it
  7. Jet- The case holes were eliminated during the F Serial... Late 2003 into 2004
  8. W serial dates this one to 1994. I'm betting this is one of the cases from the Idealwatches Subs. I bet this one has an s/n of W860168, like this one: And for those asking... Yup... I did indeed have an old Idealwatches Sub. One of the best cases I've seen, actually. I was quite surprised with it's quality to be honest...
  9. heehee... I think I enjoy collecting the parts more than I enjoy seeing my inventory disappear (as the parts find their way onto new projects)! The thrill of the hunt always keeps things interesting...
  10. The green can be a difficult thing to match. I've had some genuine inserts on my old LV's (long gone)... Some of you may be able to date these pics by their quality (heh, heh...) And, yes... The one LV has case holes. An old TW Best converted to an LV...
  11. You just need a bezel insert. Not a huge deal- Try any of the sites Mahler suggested for a replacement insert.
  12. Can you describe how it's broken? Specifically what happened, and what's wrong with it? If you can post pics, even better...
  13. Genuine Chronomatic... Rep... Almost... So close... But still so far away...
  14. Full time RWG forum lookerer and part time post [censored]...
  15. Hope to see you back after your break Don't be a stranger!
  16. Well, I'll assume that we're talking about technical aspects, and not so much the simple fact that the cabinet No.4 (like all AP Tradition of Excellence pieces) is limited to 20 pieces, costs as much as a house, etc. etc. The Cabinet No. 4 is unique in it's gear train layout. This watch is a chronograph tourbillion with a 10 day power reserve which is achieved by twin mainsprings, and a gear train layout that eliminates the 3rd wheel. This is to lighten the load on gear train torque, which is essential for longevity of the movement with such a high power reserve. The dial is cut out in relief to display the barrels. Unless your looking for other specifics? **Edit for spelling mistakes, typos, etc. BTW, since you're posting again, can we assume you're back?
  17. Tradition of Excellence Cabinet no. 4? How specific do you want? Special and unique in terms of innovation and construction?
  18. kdo- You have some truly unique SMP's there... And absolutely gorgeous! Keepers, no doubt!
  19. That very well may be. It would appear that at the very least, the 60 sec subdial has been moved to 6:00. I guess we won't know for sure until one of our dealers posts on it with details (hopefully soon). Actually, looking at the ROO, I find it odd that both the 12:00 and 6:00 counters seem to be for the running seconds? Both have the same markings
  20. It's possible... Absolutely. Though, I myself was hoping to see the standard 'Classic' Royal Oak Chronograph... Anyhow... Here's the SS ROO version that seems to be out... I am very interested to see what's inside the case.
  21. Ahhhh... Yes, if I had to rank brands Rolex would only be third on my list The ROO is still off on the subdials- The 60 second counter should be at 12:00, and that subdial should also sit closer to the center hour/min pinions than the 30min counter (9:00) and the 12hr counter (6:00). Regardless, it looks pretty decent; IF (and that's a big if) the stopwatch is functional, and the movement is an auto, that will be a huge step forward for this one...
