  1. Mmmmm... Montecarlo. I was looking into building one of those Found a case and dial... But finding hands has been a bit of a difficulty.
  2. Are we talking genuine, rep.... Or both/either? Within my collection: - sports / casual watch- Either of these... - dress watch- - beater- Either of these... If money is no object... - sports / casual watch - dress watch - beater
  3. Thanks, guys. This hobby is a ton of fun... Lots to learn, and I think that ultimately, the knowledge gained makes us appreciate watches- both reps and gens, even more so in general What I think makes this hobby even better is the people you meet and interact with. Lots of very knowledgable, educated people here with extremely respectable backgrounds. Exactly the opposite of what WIS and purists say of people who buy replicas. Anyhow... I hope more people decide to give modding a try. It puts an entirely new spin on the rep collecting hobby, and makes it even more enjoyable Best, R
  4. Wish I had a 187 to compare it to, but alas... I KNOW that watch is way too big for me! I'm sure that the Seawolf has got to be as tall, if not maybe shorter than the 187. So, if you're accustomed to wearing a Chronozilla, the Seawolf should be right at home on your wrist
  5. HighD- This one does have a 2824-2 This thing could be a lethal weapon... But I must admit- The more I look at it, the more it appeals to me. Wore it around the house a bit, but I still feel silly with it on
  6. Guess I should run this stuff through babelfish first... ケース41ミリ/ケース形状完璧!= Case 41 millimeter/case form perfection!
  7. Okay... So, what are we talking case size, then for the rep? 41mm-ish? I haven't translated it yet, but I'm assuming that's what this says... ケース41ミリ/ケース形状完璧!
  8. Love the El Primero... In many different guises...
  9. For hand setting, I use an emtpy Bic pen tube A little ghetto, but it actually works quite well.
  10. Finally... Got this one to a point where it's wearble. I replaced the seconds hand and shaved a new insert. Mods performed: -TW Best Case (new style) -ETA 2836 from the TW Best -TWG 21j date overlay -TWG 21j Dial -Genuine Rolex Bezel Insert (shaved to fit- snaps in without glue) -Genuine Triplock Crown and Tube -Shaved CG's -TWG 21j Oyster Bracelet and Clasp -Tudor Sub hands The hands are the only new mod since my last post. The original TW Best econds hand was damaged when it was removed (the hand seperated from the tube), so I had to temporarily use a hand from a vintage Sub until new ones were sourced. Here's how it sits now... Insert And on my wrist... I haven't always been a fan of the modern Subs, but I must admit- This one has grown on me. Think I'll hang onto it for a while Thanks for looking! R
  11. Oooh!! Patrizzi dial! You're sitting on a nice little fortune there!
  12. I like how he advertises them as simply 'Rolex Stainless Steel cases'. No ref model, or anything. I would have to assume that these are old DateJust or Airking cases... Price would seem about right for those. But then the question... Where did they come from? How did he get 100 of them?
  13. Over or under... My wife says over, and, oddly enough, that's how I find myself replacing rolls as well (when I have to). Over it is! Now... The idea of fold vs. scrunch... The fold part just kinda weirds me out. Has to be scrunch. Not a big fan of touching the deathstar with dirties on it.
  14. From time to time, I get batches of 12 - 20 genuine crowns at a time. If I get more anytime soon (I think some others were also interested), I'll let you know.
  15. You know... I love accurate reps. Just as much as the next guy. But, there are some things that are just beyond modding, and simply cannot be helped. If one limits themselves to 100% accurate reps, they will never have any watches, simply because they don't exist. Sometimes... You just have to accept imperfections when there is no 'fix' for them. Besides... These watches are supposed to be fun. Make them as 'perfect' as you can, but accept it for what it is... A rep. If perfection is a must... Then you better buy genuine, and pray the one you get passed QC on a GOOD day...
  16. You should stick to gens then. No rep will ever make you happy.
  17. Normal. That's the 7750 wobble you're feeling...
  18. White font 1665 is my preference as well
  19. Ooops... Never mind. Just had a look, and it doesn't have the pusher. Sorry for the misinformation...
  20. If it's a 7750... The date pusher might be on the other side of the case (@ 10:00)...
  21. I use a reazorblade to seperate the assembly. Take your time and don't rush it. You definitely don't want to damage the dial lume, but more importantly, you don't want to slice your fingers/hand open either.
