  1. Must agree; with a few mods, the MBW vintage models are quite close... Great post and an interesting read. There's nothing like making the comparison in person...
  2. I'm almost certain that I'd have to trim the insert on an MBW. It's not a hard job to do... Hell, if I could do it, it can't be difficult Just takes some time, patience, and a steady hand... Send me a PM... We can discuss a little...
  3. Replica Diesels?? Please tell me more.... I love Diesel jeans. Unfortunately, their price tag gets in the way of buying watches. But, you have my interest piqued!
  4. J- I did something similar here... Link. Best, Randy
  5. Hooray for canal st. reps I like collecting the bad stuff almost as much as the good stuff.
  6. Here is my genuine granite... But rep Sub
  7. Hmmmm... The only M. Krunk Shambaham movie I really liked was Sixth Sense. All of his other attempts started decent, but went weaksauce at the end...
  8. Yeah... Sometimes close is about as close as we can get But it's always fun to try and achieve that last one or two percent to get it even closer...
  9. Yes Wrong cross, but overall, the watch is quite close. I was talking to another forum member who compared his to a genuine at an AD...
  10. The new 42mm VC Overseas is also quite accurate from what I understand...
  11. Yes, that is correct. The replicas these days are very close to genuine, but in many situations there are still inaccuracies and flaws, which is quite common for this hobby. I find that it is not difficult to build a more accurate watch by combining watches, or building a watch from parts
  12. The GMT was an actual bracelet option for the 1675/0. But, as with all 20mm lug models, bracelets can be swapped as long as the end links fit. I've seen a few 1680's fit with a Jubilee; personally, I think it looks out of place on the divers...
  13. Great to hear! Thanks for letting me know, Bob! Maybe he can swing by the forum sometime...
  14. Soooo, Cray... Why abandon the 1680 project?
  15. Mmmmm... Inserts... Thanks guys... If this goes on the market, I'll let you guys know first I'm not big into modern Roles, but I may hang onto this one for a bit. E- I simply reused the old ETA stem with this one. Worked perfect- Not too long, not too short. And... Special thanks goes to Puggy and By-Tor for their advice in photography!
  16. That dial is awesome! Definitely need to keep it once you're done with the project...
  17. You'll definitely want the 47mm case then! Looks like a fun project
  18. Regardless, seeing a beautiful Cortebert taking up residence behind that display back would be
  19. Not to rain on your parade, but I thought the 592 was too large (17.xL vs 16L for the 616)? That's why the 616 is the one most go with? I could be wrong...
  20. Nice project! It's stuff like this that makes the hobby fun! Congrats on a great looking watch...
  21. Terribly unfortunate about that scratch! Still... I suspect that this would make for a nice franken if one doesn't mind the blemish...
