  1. IIRC, this one from EL is non-screw down. He initially had this one about a year and a half ago, and I believe I remember him saying it wasn't screw down...
  2. Had a look into the '7760', and, just as ziggy mentioned above, the movement is simply a 7750 without a rotor. That means incorrect subdial spacing, and too high of a beat rate. Probably a very nice watch none the less, but one I'll probably not inquire on with DW.
  3. I've had it- Nice watch overall, but it has some flaws. Just a quick few from memory- -20mm lugs (should be 19mm) -Symmetric pusher spacing -Pushers do not actually screw down (but have the appearance of being screw down) -Bezel is incorrect There are a few more, but you get the point. Still, a nice watch, and the Venus inside is indeed a true work horse! Of course, my favorite 'out-of-the-box' rep is still the DW with the V23 copy movement. Sure, the 6:00 is frozen, and doesn't work, but unlike the 7750, the mystery copy movement has correct subdial spacing, and beats slower (21600bph), which is closer to genuine (19800bph). The ultimate, however would be a 6263 built from a case kit using a true V72
  4. I have always loved the tourbillon... And especially these chinese made ones, as they are an affordable means to have an interesting complication. However, I've always been a little cautious about the movement and it's reliability. But, I just might give one a try. Maybe, just maybe. That, and I have always wondered in what situation I might wear such an extravagant piece? For someone who's daily wardrobe consists of faded jeans and untucked Ralph Lauren Polos, I don't know that the watch would mesh well with my attire
  5. Hmmmm... Very interesting. 7760... Time to do some research
  6. Ahhhh... I wasn't sure if I had misread that or not Bet you were wondering how many people would catch that one, eh??
  7. To be honest, I'm kind of hesitant to even wear this strap. It's NOS, never worn, not a crease on it... Don't know that I could ever find another So... I'm trying to find another PVD buckled Dirky.
  8. Yikes!! Regardless who they were from, I'd be pretty bent out of shape about that! When did Don start offering straps with sewn in buckles?
  9. I need to stock up on more straps with the sewn in PVD buckles!
  10. Indeed- The GMT hand jumps to each hour on the 2893-2. Wish I still had mine
  11. I tried a PAM on a bracelet once... I could never get it to fit right. Either too tight or too loose. Even with the half links. But, I've found this to be the case on a lot of bracelets out there... Not just Panerai. Guess I'm just used to the micro adjustment on those cheap flimsy Rolex clasps
  12. Heehee... Thanks, gang. Yeah... I've owned a few PAMs in my day. But just a few. Those buggers are definitely a bit large for me... But for some, I'm willing to make an exception
  13. Me my strap are just waiting for the watch to show up.
  14. I don't think you have much to be concerned about... 'Handed over to customs' = same as 'Inbound into customs'. T'is routine, sir
  15. Eddie- Very nice! It's good to see some new stuff starting to roll out! Any idea if we'll ever see one of these guys? Hope all is going well... Best, Randy
  16. Just personal pref... I think I like the looks of the M3/4 just a bit more than the coupe.
  17. What kinda problems did you have with the e36? I'm looking at a '98 M3 4dr. as a track car.
  18. My cars are rather pedestrian- '00 C230k Sport '04 A4 1.8t Avant Sport
  19. What are you trying to retrofit the movement in? Vintage Daytona case? or some other sort of chronograph watch? A couple of items to note- -Pusher spacing as Euno mentioned. The V72/V23's reset pusher is much more offset than the start/stop. You can probably fabricate something to work, but it's something to consider. -Subdial spacing. The subdials may be slightly different. -Hands for the 'copy' V72/V23 may be a difficult thing to source. Hands for an actual V72, I believe, are not a direct fit on the copy. -Actual fitting of the movement- The stem hole may not line up correctly in the case the venus was in. It might require a spacer, or modification of the case to get alignment correct. -Reliability- The Copy V72/V23 is sometimes a crap shoot. Just never know how good/bad it might be. Of course, if the price is sub $50, it would be worth getting. Any more than that, and it might not be cost effective. Just my $0.02... Best, Randy
  20. For me- and maybe I have ADD, or some similar disorder- hobbies only stay interesting as long as there's something to do. That's why I dabble in replicas and modding. The fun and excitement of tracking down rare, hard to find genuine parts, or building something to emulate/replicate/clone keeps me busy, and I'm constantly thinking of where/when/how I'm going to find that next odd, unusually rare part, or whatever. This keeps me busy, and keeps my interest piqued. When I had genuines, it was a case of- Go to the AD, haggle a bit about a measly 10% discount, buy it, wear it, forget about it and/or become bored with it. It was just never any fun for me. I consider this a fun, creative little hobby- Lots to do, see, learn and experience. Lots of hands on interaction with modding, and lots of great people to share ideas, discuss and brainstorm with. For me... This is what makes this hobby the best.
  21. Thanks, gang! Well, I went ahead and stuck with my usual daily wearer- The 1665. It always feels comfortable and familiar, so making a decision is usually quite easy- The Sea-Dweller typically wins out With regards to the Sea-Dweller's dial markers- The entire dial has been replaced. I had one printed up earlier this year (same with my Tudor 7928). Happy Easter!! Ubi
  22. If you need a new stem, I will gladly send you one for free. I have one left over from this swap.
