  1. My DSSD was shipped from GUANGZHOU.
  2. Lani, if you need any special dies I may be able to turn out any size you need on the lathe if they are like the ones for a hand press.
  3. Lani, I have the DRSD on order from tr***rwatch.com (don't want to offend anybody here) and it will be interesting to see how the two stack up. I'll maybe do a before and after and then thin the CG a bit and drill the lug holes for the correct spring bars. It'll be fun and interesting!
  4. Yaaaay! My black/red bezel vintage GMT Master is being "processed for departure from Hong Kong" according to HK Post! I can hardly wait as I'm stocked up on drill bits and gen style spring bars!!!
  5. F, I've read all the horror stories about the A7750 Seconds at 6 - that's why I bought an a21j version! I can put up with faux chronos better than an inoperative watch! Trevorwatch (I know, not trusted here but is on RWI and the geek) has the seconds at 9 A7750 for $175! I think I'm gonna jump on one unless somebody can give me a good reason not to. Do all of the 7750 versions have the incorrect subdial spacing? Since it won't have the "abortion bridge" will the seconds at 9 have the proper slimmer case? This is the one I'm thinking about: http://www.trevorwatch.info/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=5_9_16&products_id=315 So many questions, so little time...
  6. Are the A7750 Daytona with running seconds at 9:00 considered reliable?
  7. It took a little over 3 weeks to get mine to the middle of the country but it was worth the wait.

On your grey faced 116520 I have the a21j version of that. It is not a working chronograph, and I won't own one until they get the bugs fixed in the 7750 or a new movement, but visually is quite good. This is what it looks like and they are under $100!

Looks like a good first buy, and easy on the pocket if the a21j is acceptable to you. I buy everything in a21j, cause I'm cheap! Even though I think it's a "given" that a properly serviced ETA will outlive an a21j, remember the operative phrase is "properly serviced". The way I look at it I can stuff in a lot of DG2813 movements for the price of a "proper service" and probably have money left over! If you are handy with a drill you can open up the lug holes so they will take the proper spring-bars. That made more of a difference than I ever thought it would. I have ordered a Double-Red Sea Dweller and can't wait to dive in and start drilling on it!
  10. If copying a gen movement (at considerable discount from comparable ETA pricing) will produce a movement with the same reliability/accuracy benefits as the gen movement I'm all for it. If it's just a "cosmetic" thing then I could give a rat's a$$!
  11. Tolis, I'm really not sure but I would assume (geeze, I hate that word) it to be sapphire as I doubt a high-end casework like this would have mineral glass...
  12. I can't really see it that well is the cross-section "L" shaped, "I" shaped, "C" shaped, ???
  13. Yeah, and the coolest part is I think the clasp that was on here is correct for the GMT Master II I robbed this clasp from - I'm trying to find pix to confirm...
  14. TeeJay, here is the link to the review Spirit did of a Turn-O-Graph rep a while back. He also pointed out that I had the wrong clasp on the band and confirmed this one (above) was the correct clasp. http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/quick-review-rolex-datejust-turn-30829.html
  15. Hmmm. What is the cross-section of the gasket like?
  16. I'll grab it as soon as RWI is back up, I think I broke it! I had just replied to somebody and it hung and then no response!! Oh, I was told that the clasp was incorrect so I found a clasp on one of my "incorrect" subs that was the correct clasp!
  17. Yeah, all y'all are really bad influences on me!
  18. Spirit (RWI) gave me a link to a Turn-O-Graph review he did a while back and it had some of the history about being given to fighter pilots in the early fifties and was the first Rolex with rotatable bezel.
  19. Thanks, Boss, it does have a slight issue with the bezel insert being a bit off and the printing on the dial is a hair "slanted" but if there was a "best buy" award I think this would be a strong candidate for it! I think it's super of Chris to offer the high quality casework, usually reserved for the more expensive movements, with more affordable movement options. :thumbsupsmileyanim: :thumbsupsmileyanim: :thumbsupsmileyanim:
  20. The only difference is the movement. I don't think this version (regardless of movement, at least from ETZ) has the etched coronet as the rep crystals coronet is always too noticeable so most "experts" feel it's better to not have one.
  21. You'll need to e-mail them about the 2813 version and this one has no coronet.
  22. Thanks, I can charge it for about 15 seconds with an LED flashlight prior to hitting the sack and still be able to read it, sans specs, at 6:00 in the morning!
  23. The red date wheel makes me think it might look good in a Red Submariner! Dang, I'm already thinking about cannibalizing it!
