  1. I'm glad everybody thinks it might show promise. I have one more batch of decal paper coming in which I hope will render a flawless image like the acetate did. If this happens then I'll probably peddle some dial decals to help offset the growing pile of change I've spent on what I hope isn't a "fools mission".
  2. I wouldn't know without having it "in hand" but usually wiggling the stem and pulling (in time set position) while depressing the latch button always works for me...
  3. No, more deserving artisans than me out there. But, maybe mad scientist of the year...
  4. They are meant to be applied over any proper sized overlay.
  5. Guess I'll break this one for a couple days...
  6. Today I made a watch out of one of my Rose Sub decals and some odds and ends I had laying around. There are still some "dropouts" and flaws in the printing but this has been the best decal paper so far. I have one more batch coming which stipulated it was only for Alps MD series printers. But, all-in-all, I it turned out OK and to me the dial looks genuinely old. I am out of Sub bracelets so I stuck the Heritage NATO on it. Here's a wrist shot...
  7. A bit of a fantasy but I like it 'cause it glows all night!
  8. If you look at a gen date wheel they are quite different as well. This is due to the "0" in 30 taking up more room then the "1" in 31 I have not used any setting solution...
  9. Oh well, at least I think I got all the numbers in the right spot!
  10. Here is an old overlay I had that has a silver colored base metal. I hit it with a Scotch-Brite and applied the decal. If someone was a bit more careful with the "brushing" I think a very credible silver datewheel could be replicated. Of all my spare/old overlays probably 75% of them are a silvery base while the rest are brass colored.
  11. It's a "boo-boo" in the printing, the artwork is intact. E, I'll PM ya...
  12. I got the latest batch of decal paper in and I am impressed! The print is without blotches and seems crisp and vivid. They are sized to correspond with a "widescreen" date window in the Rolex position. I am headed out to the shop to apply one over a silver overlay base to see how it looks...
  13. They are for the Rolex style "widescreen" date window. I just received the new decal stock, have printed a sheet of overlay decals, and from what I can tell they look perfect! I have printed red, black, and "roulette" style... Here's a shot of the finished decals...
  14. Let's Explore this fine Monday!
  15. A perfect size for ladies that like just a bit larger than the traditional 26mm sized "ladies watch" would be a mid-size at approx. 31mm. These are Frankens of the Tudor variety:
  16. I have had discussions with several folks who have done a lot of research and/or I consider to be unimpeachable experts and there are conflicting views on the font. It may be that some models (GMT with roulette DW for example) have all sixes open while other models have the "6" in 26 closed. It will be a simple process to accommodate both camps as when it comes to vintage Rolex there seem to be few absolutes!
  17. They both have plusses and minuses. IMHO the biggest minus on the PT side is difficulty in swapping crystals and the biggest minus on the cartel side is the stumpy CGs...
  18. freddy, thanks for this shot as I can definitely work up a CAD drawing from this! So, everything in the "middle" is white and everything toward the "outside" is gold? My printer can do metallic (foil) gold...
  19. Here is it's beat up older brother the prototype...
