  1. M, that's an interesting looking watch. Does it glow in the dark? Mine is a bit more subdued for today...
  2. This one is starting to grow on me...
  3. Looks very nice, good job.
  4. wearing the resurrected $30 Sea Dweller again today.
  5. I had a movement that acted similar to that and it happened that the tip of the post the sweep hand pressed over was just slightly bent and I guess the tube would rub at the same spot. I also had a movement I serviced do this and it was caused by a bit of Rodico on a gear tooth.
  6. Chi! Fantastic surgery, you definitely have a steadier hand than I plus the patience of Job to boot! I can envision this as one of those exercises where I get half way through, make one slip, teach the cats some new vocabulary words, and hurl everything at the wall!
  7. Quite often Silix's descriptions don't jive with the picture so that doesn't surprise me...
  8. Let's see them Tudors!
  9. Happy Birthday, Dawg! I personally don't have 'em anymore...
  10. mjmj, I really like mine, too. Definitely one of the nicest $50 watches I've ever bought! Someday I'll tear it apart and tone-down that rehaut engraving a tad...
  11. With a #55 cobalt bit speed should be at least 2000 RPM. Small diameter bits can easily grab and snap off if too low a speed is used.
  12. Hmmm... I've tried to stay out of this but now y'all are accusing me of drillin' virgins. I'm just glad the ol' lady doesn't hang out on rep fora...
  13. But, since the 6:00 chrono hand is frozen couldn't the hand be affixed to the dial allowing correct subdial placement? If the 3:00 and 9:00 "posts" are in the correct position on the ST-19 then the 6:00 could just have the hand stuck to the dial (being simplistic) and you would have the best of both worlds. Just babbling...
  14. Sly, I thought something about it looked familiar! I think y'all have pushed me over the edge and I'm going to break down and start prepping and scrounging and build one for myself.
  15. C'mon, whatcha got? Today I feel a strong link to my Heritage...
  16. The ETA case clamp screws are 1mm, IIRC.
  17. Very nice, especially for your first build - congrats! Martin is generally a bad influence and has had a hand in the corruption of more than one poor soul so don't feel lonesome!
  18. Very strange, the attachments were there this morning. I have "reattached"...
  19. Got the Gnomon Heritage NATO in the mail today and popped it on. Fortunately mine was sent in the proper 22mm size! Being a non-fan of straps I was prepared to hate it but it doesn't feel half bad. I have seen comments about it being "cheaply made" but in my opinion the lightweight nylon makes it extremely comfortable and would not feel as good if made from a more "robust" fabric.
