  1. I admire you for being the first dealer to bring this issue out into the public forum ! This was the main issue that many of us were holding back on these.
  2. She may not always remember to give tracking, but she always delivers, and backs up her merchandise..Top Notch Dealer !
  3. Yep Eddie is Cool.. just trying to apply a little humor and advance notice. to EL
  4. Absolute Dream Watch.. I think I may get back into Gens.. well just this one.. Unless I can find an accurate rep...
  5. Wow, What Gorgeous Piece,.. are there any reps of this ?
  6. In case you haven't noticed, All dealers have now posted prices including EL and Joshua. Let's show them our support,... give them a Hand, and some orders ...
  7. Hi, I just wanted to pass on happenings with four dealers, found in links on one of our two sites. I don't know about you, but I am into customer service. It rules in my book, even over prices. In return, am always friendly, positive, and patient. You can't really tell how good a shop is until you request something out of the cookie cutter. Well here are two customer service retarded people. First and foremost. Globalwatchband.com Owner's name is Rich. He's sells mostly hadley roma, the kind you find in mall quick band adjustment shops. I took a chance and ordered three, a Croc and two lizards. While awaiting the order I requested that he add a hole into one of them. He replied,.. " I have no tools." What ? A band dealer with no tools ? Okay, received the bands. Croc was so, so, very low profile pattern, & thinner than average. Lizards turned out to be paper thin, so I returned those, after that, to make sure I didn't waste his time, I purchased another much more expensive band a Gator, plus three deployment buckles and paid extra for return shipping. However I had an offer to sell the watch that I was buying the band for, so I wrote him, apologized profusuely, then requested, that he change the size & color of the same band, telling him that I would add extra money for handling.. His response was to block my e-mail account. Another Customer service backward person is farfo.com His site doesn't have sizes listed, so I wrote the guy. He answered in a friendly manner, stating that If I would tell him which ones I was interested in.. he would let me know. Well at that time I needed quite a few bands, so I inquired if there was a slight discount for multiple order... His reply was to ignore me.. I wrote again just to be sure my mail was not lost... Weeks later.. nothing. One thing I hate are business people that feel they have enough customers to burn ! My best band experience so far is from Don.. he does everything to help a brother out.. sizes.. changes buckles.. alters orders..replies to every question ususlly within 15 minutes. On top of which his prices are the lowest in the business, he delivers in days and his bands are Killer Bad ass Good, you can't tell by his horrible photos... but check his customers photos page..http://www.homestead.com/rlx/DON12.html Fantastic ! Another is Pluto from Taikonaut,... Once I saw a band that was Killer,.. but so expensive,.. so I inquired about a discount over what they already offer for the first year. He wrote me back within an hour, even though we were in totally opposite time zones and told me about a Birthday offer, which I could take adantage of.. They even upgraded my shipping to FexEx for free. Now that is What I call service ! Let's support those that support us !
  8. Yes but How large is your box ? Ever seen a 200 capacity ?
  9. Also the Daytona has seconds at 6 which potentially problematic... If you are going Asia 7750 seconds at 9 is the key..
  10. Birds of a feather... My mailman is totally afraid of me,... he's a lazy bastard that always leaves the 'Missed You' notes verses coming to my door... I know his route by now, so he sees me tearing around the corner in my car, to box him in, that orange piece of paper waving out the window in my hand,...or feels me creep up behind him as he enters another yard, and plaster that note in his mug.. as I yell Gotcha ! I even chased dogs away from him just to be sure they didn't grab his bag....Jeeze I know it's crazy.. but I just can't help it.. Once, I located his truck but he was nowhere to be found,.... It took all my strength to keep from going through his truck for my package ... I've got three in transit pretty much at all times... Keeps me having something to look foreward to The wife ? I have her totally confused now,.. she thinks I am coming out even or making a profit as I trade my watches quite regular....and have totally removed her from the household accounts.. She now gets an Allowance ,.. I set her up by allowing her to run the finances for one month.. she went crazy and spent the whole thing in three days at the mall ... After that..she had no choice but to let handle the money ... I just keep reminding her... "Remember that Time ?" Give it a try.. it works like a charm
  11. TuTone 14k Gold and I am in there ! I like the looks of that green GMT hand..
  12. Like with most dealers, once you've lost your patience, you've already lost.
  13. Though it would be more convenient, for both buyer and seller, bottom line is,.. Who has the power ? Who needs who more? I remember Paul telling us once that we were only 2% of his business base. That really struck me, though I know it was a exaggeration, it still brought into focus a factor that most of us to that point, were blind to. Who needs us when they can sell to the outside world, where they won't be pestered with all of our concerns over crown guards & rehaut, where their profit margins are as far above what they squeeze out of us here ? I don't want to lose our dealers,.. once more caught on that web, where the issue is not weather your watch is 99% accurate, but if you will receive your watch at all. I feel that our dealers have grown to see us as their friends, as we have them, and though I know that they profit from our addiction, they do have alternative sources of customers. All that is one side of the coin. The other is what Neil is presenting as is Narikaa. Though out of honesty, or competition, most likely a combo of both, they are stating that willingness to play it for our benefit. Trusty will also play.. he's that sort,.. customer comes first. I doubt however, that EL , River or Josh, will follow suit. The other dealers I am not too familiar with. Volume dealers are in another category. King and Jay are each other's competition and keep in a pretty even line. Their prices are always fair. As for Paul.. who by the way may have sold out to another dealer long ago, and after that big sale fiasco I don't understand how we have gone back to him, taking business away from Jay and King. So question is, are we willing to leave the dealers out who won't play ball ? I say let them go to another board, we can always meet them there, and If our little experiment, goes in the right direction they may change their minds. This is a chance to do something different, and make our board The Board that has placed the sentiment that we are an oasis from the web, into action.
  14. Mac Huh ? Just because your're Scottish dosen't mean you have to match machines.. Jeeze..I don't know if I'll trust your taste in watches anymore..
  15. Always liked offshore,... great personality, I'm sure he will do great ! Congrats !!
  16. I do feel that it would serve the community in time and money if prices were posted. However,..Since the size of a dealer's operation has a lot to do with their profit margins, this is a difficult situation. Of course if the same item can be purchased less expensively from a volume dealer then I believe a person has a right to get the lowest price. Considerations however are customs, i.e. Canada where Eddie rules, Time frames, hard to find items, movement, unique or popular stock. In the above, most of our smaller dealers rule, but I feel that some sort of explaination should be posted if the price is higher than a competitor's for nubies sake, as most of the experienced members know the situation. IMOP of course.
  17. Hey Neil, Any Militare Destros or Black Broad Arrow 7750s in stock ? If so pm particulars. Thanks
  18. I browsed every model I could find, and you are right, it's the wacom that did it for me as well. Though I did consider systems with the detachable screens as at times this thing can get a bit heavy with the optical drive in place, plus that left corner vent gets pretty hot. Just ordered this true Lap stand that I hope will help. http://www.powerbookcentral.com/columns/hi...vitz/ilap.shtml Also I have experienced a few blank screens and crashes... but I'm used to that. Am very satistifed however, this thing has replaced my desktop totally, though I do miss the gaming ability, Halflife 2 is max it can handle. But then again consoles are the way to go for games, XBox 360 is next !
  19. It does look that way... funny,.. seems like they are playing three card monte' with the valve..
  20. I think he means the finish is sharp.. Does anyone know if the cape cod cloths will do the trick ?
  21. I compare the 7750b1 to price of Gen 7750, and see it as an excellent value.
  22. Why could they not put a 7753 in that bad boy ? The date wheel will be off a bit but would not the rest fit ?
  23. Damn Nanuq that is a handsome piece.. ! And Hok, the GST is a fantastic watch,... just make sure you get the 7750b1.. the first version has a faulty 12hr sub brake.
  24. Hmmm,.. my dream watch may be on the horizon..though in rep form..Thanks..
  25. Thanks...Nanuq, well how about taking his ROL187, replacing the insert, having Zig relume the markers to look like gen ?
