  1. Right now I'm sporting the 113G... Tomorrow or perhaps later this evening, the Explorer II... And then on Sunday, the BCE Evo... Too many watches, not enough wrists!!!
  2. Good luck with the search...Here's mine: I've worn mine for about a year and the sides have a couple of spots that are chipping off. Other than that, the leather is really supple and wears very comfortably.
  3. I found one of these on eBay about a year ago...I "stole" it for less than $100!!!
  4. Probably the most under-appreciated "exotic" car of the past decade and a half... Easy to drive... Comfortable... Reliable as heck... Not the fastest, but fast enough... I've owned Boxsters, 911s, and a Maserati Coupe, and I still long to own another NSX...Own one and you'll understand.
  5. Thanks for sharing! I love the 8-series! I was fortunate to have owned a '96 840ci alongside my '98 NSX-T a few years ago...Man, I miss those cars!
  6. I have a crystal press...similar to the one you have. BTW...I like your new avatar!
  7. Yeah!!! I'm definitely interested in at least two if the price is right! Thanks for pushing this forward...
  8. Great case backs and I love the CG on the 201A!!! Thanks for sharing...
  9. I just noticed that the "sleeves" around the chrono buttons are beveled! Very nice! I maybe going to GZ in the Fall when I'm in Hong Kong. I'm trying to convince my girl that we should visit GZ. I haven't told her my true intentions of visiting GZ....yet. Heh...Heh...Heh...
  10. I've seen some Tricompax versions with the "1-9" dates rotated and some that are not. Do you know which versions have the "1-9" rotated? Is it just the "50th Anniversary" versions? w/ rotated single digit dates: w/o rotated single digit dates:
  11. What's the latest on the date wheel project? I've been wanting to add this one back to my collection, but I would like to be able to change out the date wheel...
  12. Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and experiment with your own watches...I'm glad this worked out for you. Thanks for sharing!
  13. I have a ETA 2846 from a rep Sub that I bought about 10-years ago. It still runs strong and I will be transplanting into my MBW 1680 Red-Sub in the near future. I will post some photos of my project soon...
  14. Nice start... What type of movement will you be using? Slow or fast beat ETA?
  15. This is what I used to "pop out" the crystals from my Omega and Panerai... My titanium IWC watches were a bit more difficult. I had to suspend each case in a table vise and tap the crystal from inside with a wooden dowel and mallet. They came right out with a light tap. I tried using my specialized tools from above, but the tolerances were exceeded and the tools became temporarily disabled...Ouch!
  16. I have one of these! It's one of my favorite "daily beaters"! A must have for anyone's collection...
  17. Check out my latest update to my AR Project thread... http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...iew=getlastpost ...it addresses the "lip issue".
  18. Wednesday, 08/28/07 Update... I was able to remove the crystals from the IWC GST and Ingenieur. Stubborn suckers but eventually they gave up their goods... I realized that I forgot to add a "before" shot of the PAM048 crystal. Anyhow, it's with the rest of them at the lab and the engineer is prepping them for the coating. The engineer is creating a "cell" that holds each crystal around the edges. The cell is basically a metal plate with a cut-out to fit the crystal. He stated that the "lip" that he creates to hold crystal in place measures less than a 10th of a millimeter, and that it will be virtually unnoticeable when the crystal is mounted. I read in chieftang's thread that any existing coating on the crystals must be removed. I asked the engineer to perform a thorough cleansing and stripping of any existing coating on the crystals. He stated that he will be using boric acid with some mild, physical agitation to remove any coating from the crystals. I know that AR coating removal has been discussed before and some members have had a real tough time with it. I'll get some additional details from the engineer on his exact process of removing AR and post it later. I should have the crystals back next Wednesday. I'll post some photos of the crystals before I mount them back...Stay tuned for more!
  19. Contributed...I hope it helps! I love this forum!
  20. How about this bezel? http://cgi.ebay.com/BEZEL-INSERT-FOR-VINTA...3QQcmdZViewItem
  21. Figured it out... I "suspended" the case in a table vise and tapped on the crystal with a wooden dowel and mallet. The crystal popped right out! I'm guessing that the titanium case "holds" onto the crystal more tightly than the softer, stainless steel.
  22. I hope...My thumbs are sore and my hands are tired...Kind of sounds like I was doing something else! If I don't hear from the forums, then I'm going to a local shop for some help...
  23. Monday, 08/27/07, Update... I was able to remove the crystals from my PAM087, SMP Chrono, and UPO...See Below... PAM087: SMP Chrono: UPO: However, I'm stuck and not able to remove the crystals from my IWC GST Ti Chrono and IWC AMG Ingenieur Ti Chrono...Hmmm...Maybe it's the titanium cases not being as forgiving as SS. I'm going to locate a local shop and ask for some assistance. I don't want to risk damaging the crystal or case. The stubborn titanium cases: Tomorrow the removed crystals will be off to the lab...More to follow...
  24. Fantasy or not...I like the fit and finish of the bezel! Thanks for sharing!
  25. Can someone provide some advice on removing the crystal from the IWC GST Ti Chrono? I have removed the movement and tried pressing with my thumbs from the inside, but NO luck. I just hope that when the watch was built, the crystal was not glued on in addition to the pressure fitting. Need help...Thanks in advance!
