yes please tell where you got it from, it's very difficult to find a source for PAMs these days... on a more serious note, for clarification was it the rep strap that you got or was it an OEM (as in OEM from Panerai) that you got elsewhere? from you saying that the manufacturer made 'it look like vinyl' i'm guessing the former. if you did that to a gen strap, i'd think it a bit foolish. but those rep straps are throw away anyway so it would be fine to mess with it a bit.

gotta say also that if you don't have a titanium rep, it's worth picking one up. even though it's a big ass panerai, it is not heavy at all which means that when combined with the right strap, it's about as comfortable as it gets. that all being said, my 192 will not be leaving my collection come hell or high water. and the only reason why i never got the 172 was that i got a 192 at the right price and thought that the chrono jazzed it up a bit.

and i'd like to see a comparison of the OEM vs a hktan custom but i really think that yours looks to be pure class
