  1. fair point
  2. i bet the HE release valve is a wee bit higher up though on his
  3. i'd have to see about the price of the custom dial, but that is certainly interesting. wonder what a gen dial would go for?
  4. tracking numbers in my experinece have been about as useful as a third testicle. i don't really see the point in getting too worked up with that whole bit. if you have some sort of worry that the dealer wouldn't ship the product and is going to take your money, then you should not be doing business with that dealer in the first place. if your package gets stopped by our friends in the customs department, having the tracking number won't solve the issue. at that time perhaps the value would be knowing what the status is, and there is certainly value there. agree to disagree i guess. when in rome.
  5. honestly, as a lover of panerai, i can't recommend that you go with the big daddy right off the bat. if you do, you should know that you won't ever look at the sub-47mm cases the same way again. nonetheless the fiddy is amazing. and yes the strap that comes with it is one step above plastic -that is not a compliment mind you. but don't go messing with having the dealer change the strap or the like - it's hardly worth the hassle. also some members have had luck with distressing the rep strap and have found it to be more than acceptable once distressed (if you like that sort of thing). there are so many great options out there with the pams that it is honestly tough to go wrong. good luck to ya.
  6. peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  7. right it's the lume from the 11 o'clock marker which is currently resting approximately at 9. aint that a [censored] - i had the same thing(s) happen on two different watches. one was dropped and now is sitting in my watchbox as the movement is now in shake rattle and roll mode, while another had the marker knocked off in transit. i feel for ya my man. i guess misery loves company. ot: nice avatar michael.
  8. too bad you don't have one with the chocolate brown subdials (my personal fav) and i'm really happy to hear that you have got a movement for this badboy.
  9. add 700club to the cool list as well
  10. what a waste it would be if they made an accurately laid out case & he release, but it was made of brass.
  11. hey how about some shots of the dial and bracelet
  12. proof that good things come to those who wait - great shots randy! and yes i secretly prefer the nato to the bracelet, but that's just me (and addingwatch) i guess...
  13. if it weren't for the silly stitching on the bluish grey i'd say go for that
  14. ^^that could be the dumbest statement of all in this thread
  15. next time take pics of the watches with a 10 gallon hat and a slice of apple pie in the background. that'll really get 'em going
  16. at least it doesnt say seanaster! i think it looks quite nice neil
  17. silix used to have it, but i believe it is listed as out of stock. nonetheless it may be a good idea to check with them as well.
  18. quick suggestion: move the asian swiss mbw section closer to the top. many wouldn't read that far into the post to get there. overall a nice write-up (obviously)
  19. yes guys it's the same one. the same one that has been out for months if not more than a year or so. no biggie. and to answer the question, the reason that it's difficult to get a solid rep of one of these is because the movement that the gen uses is not one likely to be repped. anyone, and i mean anyone that knows what this model should look like will know in half a second that it is a rep due to the subdial layout. nonetheless, as a happy owner i'd say that while not accurate it is indeed lovely and recommend it highly.
  20. the only thing about becks is that he gives half of that endorsement dough to real madrid
  21. yes randy, i think we all know how badly you are in need of MORE vintage rolex information...lol
  22. next time it will be wu in cash locally for me. why do it online AND pay more?
  23. take a joke pal and to answer your question, no it doesn't appear that the lume is significantly better on either of the two.
  24. the most glaring flaw that i see is that you are pointing us in the deriection of a *ahem* tag heuer
