  1. I gave up on torrents a while ago, I was just painfuly slow with my connection. I use rapidshare now and that seems to be much quicker, not as much content as torrents though.
  2. Absolutely, its just I would have taken it off before putting my hands anywhere near that banger. Not doubting the emergency's merits for a second. I've worked as a mechanic for the last 20 years and I don't wear any watch or jewellery when working for a good reason. If I was lucky enough to own a beautiful watch like that I would not take near an engine even if there was no safety problems, I suppose he can afford to treat it as just another tool, lucky bugger.
  3. I will be interesting to see the pics The Zigmeister, looking forward to that. It will be interesting also to see what the dealers do with representing the movement. Glad we have you to keep us informed Sir.
  4. I noticed a guy wearing a yellow faced Breitling Emergency while fixing the Lancia in last nights episode,.....as you do when your working on the car
  5. There is a comparison in this thread http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=48659
  6. Good price, would be an idea to ask him to send one with centered pearl and numbers if anyone goes for it. Silix is doing a good job of moving the prices to a more sensible level, I wish him luck.
  7. Nice to hear your thoughts on the black dial version, I have one on its way.
  8. Thank you V, it did go down quite well . I moved into an area where everyone was fairly well off, I decided to throw a party at halloween to get to know everyone. I told them it was fancy dress by buying a costume was banned (They would just throw money at it). Everyone had to make their own. It has become a bit of a tradition now and everyone puts in a lot of effort, its just much funnier when people have made the costume themselves. A guy turned up a Shrek one year and he was just awesome, really impressive, must have took him ages. The kids quite enjoy it too
  9. You can tell I never got my Blue Peter badge, overcompensating a bit in adulthood I'm afraid .
  10. Could be worse, this was my daughter and I last year. Not much in the way of a quick get away wearing that I can tell you .
  11. Can I come? I could stab them with my sword or just throw my fiddy at them
  12. I have his Fiddy which is a thing of beauty, I just feel like a boy wearing his Dads watch though . I like his 177h, might have to cave in and buy one of those.
  13. I would say that is a good shout, the SFSO(I only have the Asian, ETA on the way) and UPO are pretty fab too. Some of DSN's watches, if you are lucky enough to get a fault free example are amazing too......if thats not cheating .
  14. Tell me he was not the greatest player who ever kicked a ball. (Sorry if you are English)
  15. You are a mine of information andreww, have a gold star. Good idea to sandpaper the uneven insert, I will give that a try.
  16. I remove the old lume from the dial with a pin and toothpicks, you need to be very careful. The hands I removed and gently scrapped of the old lume from the back with a razor, removed the rest with a tooth pick. It is very easy to scratch your hands or dial, you always have to be conscious of what could mark them. The old lume can be quite hard and it is time consuming to remove, Its tempting to hurry, don't. My advice is don't attempt it on anything you are not prepaired to damage and happily put it down to experience. When you have had a go it makes you look at The Zigmeister and Vac's work in a whole new light, I would love to know how they manage to make such a neat job. I might post a pic later, not the PO dial though
  17. Ive had quite good results with hands on a PO and SMP and did a SFSO dial and hands that turned out well. I've made a complete [censored] of a PO dial in the past though, don't ask for pics.....Im too ashamed. I've heard quite good things about NoctilUmina. Never attempted a Rolex or Panerai, I've heard that the sandwich dials are among the easier to relume.
  18. Have you tried calling Yahoo Customer Service again? In this situation I would think about calling again and explaining. Different call = Different call handler = Possibly different outcome. If I call a call centre and dont get what I want, I hang up and call again, not saying it will work but If you call several times you might get a possitive outcome.... eventually......maybe. Wish you the best of luck.
  19. Have not done it but made some enquires, even getting the bezel off is a drama. I asked Fleed at RWI how it was done and he said he trashed a bezel spring removing it. Very hard to come off apparently. It would be interesting if any members have tested it for Sapphire. If it is indeed mineral then I beleive AR coating is a no go, I could be wrong though.
  20. I was about to say it was a great looking rep apart from the obvious. oh well, no accounting for taste.
  21. Hello from someone living a lot further north in the UK.
  22. Fantastic, glad to hear you went for the genuine and the prettiest of the seamaster range too. What is different in the dial Cheftang? The closed factory dial looks very accurate to my eye, what am I missing?
  23. Even with EMS I have never had a package in 4-5 days, its always been the best part of a couple of weeks. Sit tight, there is a backlog of mail in the UK and it will get to you sooner or later.
