  1. To me the genuine PO is one of the nicest watches I've ever seen. I could see me saving up for one, nice as the 4th generation is. Make sure you know exactly what you are buying, I was stung by one of our most revered dealers, recieved a 3gen and it was too late by the time my noobness wore off.
  2. According to one of our dealers, "FRONT GLASS: 5mm Thick Sapphire with AR".
  3. What is the hardware like, trem, machine heads etc, decent quality? I wonder how well the frets are finnished too. I suppose if the neck is good and the body is reasonably resonant you have the makings of a nice guitar when you have added the di marzio. I'm bloody jealous now.
  4. Where's the site you saw the guitar? Do they do the red white and black frankenstein one? Looks great.
  5. There seems to be a lot of people going for the blue rep in ETA, problaby influenced to some degree by By-tor's excellent review. With the Asian it seems to be white is the most popular, these are both just my opinion and based on nothing more than what I have read. As for the gen, I've seen fairly even numbers.
  6. I don't think you would be disappointed with any of them, Its not that the white does not need AR, its just not as noticable on the white dial. The blue and black show off the AR more, which is the more accurate of the two I will leave for someone else to say. I have went for black, the blue looks lovely too though. To my eye none of them are obviously wrong, they all look great.
  7. My Asian SFSO had tight crown threads, I lubed them with WD40 and gently worked it applying a little more and now its fine. Worth a try.
  8. @fivefive If you are buying Eta Steelfish, go for blue or black. The AR is not as necisarry on the white version.
  9. I have the Asian white dial SFSO and have just ordered a black dial ETA SFSO. Fantastic reps, well worth the money.
  10. He does seem very honest, I asked for a part and he asked if he could drop-ship, giving me the option. Seems a straight and honest guy.
  11. Ha Ha , I'll add you to my growing list of people I have promised to tell if I decide to sell it. Some fantastic watches here guys, the Skyland.....
  12. This has had some wrist time for the first in a long while. Its funny how a different strap changes the look.
  13. You got it sized o.k. then.... It looks good, very eye catching watch you have there.
  14. Does the pic in this thread help? http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...amp;hl=resizing
  15. I presume it like most breitlings, you have to remove two screws not just one.
  16. My sphincter would be twitching if I was walking through with a bag full of reps but I would not give a second thought to wearing a decent one in an airport or through customs.
  17. I bought a DSN fiddy at the tail end of last year, the crown wobbled but it was stunning so I kept it, after a while timekeeping became very inaccurat. It had been a while since I bought it so I wondered if I was going to have any bother getting it repaired. I contacted DSN and he said to send it back, it came back with a fault and went back, next time it retuned all was fine and has been since. The very first one I had lumed like an absolute beast, this one is great for a while then dies a death. I dont feel the need to risk returning it for that, if it bothers me I will contact The Zigmeister. There are issues with his QC but as has been said, a good one is very, very impressive. A friend was laughing at the size of my watch at a wedding recently, I took it off and handed it to him, he flipped it over to look at the back, his jaw dropped, and stayed dropped. He said he would wear it the other way round. :-)
  18. Well done, thats kind of my experience of watch repair too Wonder what The Zigmeister drinks when he's working on watches ..........
  19. Oh Jesus, Potters got his wand out again.
  20. Absolutely, anything I post tonight should be ignored, I'm seeing two keyboards
  21. Perhaps the comprimise would be to make the thread a VIP only thing. If you have paid the subscription you deserve the answers? After all its about finding the right watch from the right dealer (do we entertain wrong dealers?) at the right price. You would still have to research to decide if the watch is up to scatch and if the dealer is trustworthy. I use the search button every day but am happy to help my fellow man with my experience however limited that may be. The best of the people I have met around here and other forums have the same sharing attitude, we are a group, we share knowledge.
  22. I would be interested to know why think its not helpful Doc? As far as I can see the dealers held up as the shining light when I first joined have on since, on occasion been found to at the very least bend the truth and after using the new kids on the block, I have been very impressed by their service not to mention prices. I'm not saying everyone should just buy from the cheapest dealer but surely it is of interest to see a comparison. If anything, I just want the odds stacked in favour of the buyers and not the dealers, knowledge is power. I've paid a lot more than peanuts in the past and delt with prize monkeys, a high price is no guarantee of good service.
