    ...

I'm sporting the vintage Omega today
  2. That's a mighty fine collection!
  3. Vaccum......Those are some incredibly detailed photos. Nice work!
  4. Having wrung off more than one of the new style tubes I have to agree. There is nothing more dis-heartening than breaking tubes. I bet it's almost impossible to destroy one of these on installation.
  5. The topic of the vintage 7mm Rolex twinlock crowns and tubes has come up a few times here lately and since they are so hard to find I thought I'd post a couple of pics for reference if anybody finds one for sale and wants to verify that it is correct. This set is correct and genuine. The tube set was sealed in the original package when i bought it. Notice the splines inside the throat of the tube Large coronet with no line or dots underneath
  6. Hey Ubi, If I could just find one of those fine Daytonas you've got I'd be a happy man!
  7. Since I have been forced by my lovely wife to "de-clutter the house" while it's for sale I am now working off the floor in a walk-in closet under the steps. Here are my tool boxes, my spot on the floor and a few shots of some current projects. Damn, I can't wait to get moved and have my own space again! Some of my tools and parts. MBW 5513 case and new calibre 1520, Rolex 5500 soon to be an explorer and Rolex 1675 that I'm hoping an ETA 2893 will fit into. Rolex 1675 case.
  8. I guess I'm a #5. I've done some limited work on movements and have a parts box full broken movements to prove it.
  9. I use one of these to add a little wabi to my rep cases
  10. Ubi, Kudos to you! Those look perfect.
  11. You can find his date overlays at this link http://www.cubic-works.com/watchtools/index.html
  12. Wow, great looking watch!
  13. I've used 1.25 in the past, but will probably use 1.3 in the future for an easier fit. By the way, you will want to use cobalt drill bits.
  14. I've got this DW Daytona that I'm trying to fix up and I've run up on a problem. The pushers on the watch had some nicks on them and I decided to replace them. I got 2 new aftermarket Daytona pushers from Ofrei to replace them with, but the thread pitch is different. After hosing one of the new $42 replacement pushers I did a little research and found out that the aftermarket pushers are .20 pitch, but the holes on the DW case are tapped to .25 pitch. After searching the web for a tap that is 2.5mm x .20mm to re-tap the holes without any luck I decided to come to the board for some help. There are generic pusher available that I've found with the correct dimensions, but they are not the correct screw down Daytona style. Does anybody know where I can get either a pair of DW pushers or a 2.5 x .20mm tap. Thanks!
  15. The date disc on the miyota probably has a "date overlay" glued on top of it. You should be able to peel this overlay off of the actual disc with a knife blade or razor. I've never fiddled with the miyota movements before so this is just conjecture, but it is how the ETA reps are done. Good luck.
  16. This guy has several ebay seller accounts. Also goes by luenfat123 and holiday123 and has the website www.cubic-works.com. I've bought stuff from him probably half a dozen times and he's always delivered. Everything was ok except for the AF Switzerland case tube tool, it doesnt fit rolex case tubes. He has the date overlays available on the cubic-works.com site if anybody is looking.
  17. Hey Joe, I'll be happy to do it if it suits the buyer. I'm in the eastern US. PM me to discuss the details.
  18. Hey Avitt, That's a great tutorial! Thanks for your efforts.
  19. You do great work! They are both fine pieces.
  20. Hey Sam, I'm not sure if this is the place you're thinking of or not, but they do Tag, Omega, Rolex etc. http://www.krysworks-store.com/
  21. Try this guy on ebay. I've bought some stuff from him-the quality is pretty good and the price is right. He ships fast too. http://cgi.ebay.com/WATCH-HAND-FOR-ROLEX-S...3QQcmdZViewItem
  22. That's pretty good tuning!
  23. The DW I've got came with an asian 7750 installed. Hopefully (with fingers crossed) everything will fit without any new parts. Wish me luck!
  24. It's a factory 7753. I was lucky enough to find it second hand from a fellow who posted it for sale on TZ. He bought it for a project that never came to fruition and was trying to recover some of his investment. These are so pricey new that I hadn't really considered this movement as an option, but I got a pretty sweet deal on it. Hopefully it will just be a matter of swapping hands and dial and bolting it back in to the case. If it needed any modification I'd be calling on you The Zigmeister, I'm afraid to do anything but simple stuff on expensive movements.
  25. Just picked this movement up from the post office this morning. It's going into my DW Daytona just as soon as I have a chance to install it. The watch was purchased as a fixer-upper from a board member for a very good price and hopefully with this movement, new pushers, genuine crown and tube and new crystal it will be a keeper. Will post pics once it is finished.
