  1. The hole size is the same, but the thread pitch is finer on the aftermarket (Ofrei) pusher as Avitt mentioned above. I ran in to this same dilemna when replacing the pushers on my DW. Avitt was kind enough to do a trade for a set of DW pushers to help me finish the project (thanks again Avitt). I may still switch out the pushers to the Ofrei aftermarket pushers one day to improve the water resistance. I didn't test the Ofrei pushers as I couldn't install them in the case (thread pitch issue), but I have tested 4 different DW pushers and all of them leak like a sieve at 3 atms in the pressure chamber of the waterproof tester. The construction of the Ofrei pushers is much more robust and I think that they would be far more likely to pass muster under pressure. The Ofrei pushers appeared identical to my eye when I compared them to detailed photos of genuine pushers and I think they would suffice. I would certainly defer to the opinions of Avitt and Freddy as they both have much more experience with the DWs than I do.
  2. You can buy mil sub hands for ETA and Seiko movements at MkII watches that look pretty good to me. Check them out here-MkII watches mil sub hands The hand sizes for the 1520 are 80/130/20, ETA are 90/150/25, not sure about the asian movement.
  3. Here is a pictorial that illustrates the process of removing your crystal. It may be a helpful visual aid to Tribal's instructions. Crystal replacement
  4. Try Watchco for a crown. I bought a bunch of these a couple years ago. The aftermarket tubes are just as good as genuine and much cheaper. I picked up a bunch of genuine tubes back before the prices for parts went totally insane and compared to the ones sold by Borel they are nearly indistinguishable. I've used nearly all of the genuine tubes and wouldn't waste the extra money at todays going prices for genuine. Here is the link to Watchco crowns, go to spare parts, rolex crowns.
  5. I collect donations for an endowment. See me at work below. Just kidding, hospitality management is my field.
  6. Wow! That is one lovely project. The bezel, insert, crystal and bracelet endlinks make this a very realistic piece. Congratulations on a great final product!
  7. Thanks for sharing the link. That's good info and would be easy to do without a bunch of special equipment.
  8. I was perusing the VRF this morning and found scans of a Rolex technical bulletin on polishing and brushing guidelines for cases, bracelets and crystals. I put the scans in a WORD document for those who may want to save a copy for future reference. Rolex_polishing_guidelines.doc
  9. That's absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations to you on the new watch and Kudos to The Zigmeister on the awesome job. I may have to sell my DW Daytona and use the proceeds to build one of these.
  10. Nice watch and good pics too. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Borel lists them in their catalog as well. Might be a little cheaper. Here's the page.
  12. Here's my small collection of vintage pieces.
  13. Here's a page with the movement from the Jules Borel catalog. Good luck.
  14. You can also build a franken using your existing dial, although it is a bit more difficult. When I was ready to build mine I couldn't find a genuine dial for a reasonable price. I opted to use a rep dial. Unfortunately it doesnt fit the gen 16200 case without modification as the diameter of the dial is slightly too large. I used a rubber washer between the top of the dial and the mandrel screw head and screwed the dial on to the mandrel of my dremel. Once attached I started the dremel and ground the edge of the dial on a fine grinding stone until it fit perfectly in the 16200 case. I was pleasantly surprised that dial remained intact during this procedure and the results were not bad at all. I will replace the rep dial one of these days when I come acorss one for a fair price. Most of the components were in my spare parts bins so this was a very inexpensive project. Anyway, here is a pic of the genuine case, rep exp 1 dial, eta 2836 movement and an MBW hollow link bracelet with genuine 558 endlinks and genuine clasp.
  15. If I had it to do over again I would buy the Horotec set over the old Bergeon set any day. The Horotec drivers are made with stainless steel shafts versus the chrome plated brass that the older style bergeon drivers use. That's a pretty good price, but Nam-Hing is in Thailand I think, and the savings on the set may quickly be eaten up with additional shipping charges. You might be better buying from a US based supplier-here is a link I had saved for the same set at a slightly higher price http://www.fdjtool.com/category.aspx?categoryID=948. I'm sure you will enjoy this quality set regardless of the source.
  16. Nice work Stilty! I'm sure Mrs. Stilty is gonna love it.
  17. Congratulations! That's absolutely stunning. I'm turning green with envy as I type.
  18. vlydog, There is a thread on VRF started by your seller with a reply which includes a link to an older thread with a comparison of the newer style 93150 (which you have) to the older style 93150 (which everybody is familiar with). Check it out, it may ease your mind a bit.
  19. Wow! That's a beautiful piece and what a dial-glows like a torch.
  20. Freddy, Jules Borel lists all of the parts below on their online parts ordering system, it is cut and pasted from their site (sorry column formatting is out of whack). If you set up an account with them you can access the parts list for just about any movement. Not sure if the screw you need is listed. My apologies if you already knew about this. 21. Stilty your daughter is adorable! I'm sure she brings you plenty of happiness. Best wishes to you and your wife for a safe and easy delivery of your new baby!
  22. I too can vouch for the quality of the Milano bracelets-they are of excellent quality. The hosers at tns diamonds sell the Milano bracelet for a huge markup-typical jewelry store rip off pricing. The cheapos from ebay suck. There are some new MBW bracelets that are of very good quality. I've been lucky to have picked up a couple of them second hand. I don't know of a source for these bracelets though. Hopefully one of the dealers will begin selling these, they are a superb value in comparison to other bracelets I've found.
  23. Congratulations, nice watch! Nothing better than the genuine article.
  24. Definitely a keeper, but I'd leave the bezel alone. Trevor builds a mighty nice watch!
  25. I've got his direct email addy if you want to circumvent ebay. Shoot me a pm if you want his info.
