Thats the updated version with chrome sub pins. So you have a new version which cant be bad But if you look at he base of the CG lever its is pushing out further than the original. ( It could just be it wasnt pushed back in completely) However you should not be put off by this!!! Firstly its a rep you dont get perfect Secondly it could be due to a number of reasons other than a problem with the lever itself. These movements must be serviced for a variety of reasons and all of the ones being teared down are showing the same issues consistently, it is only a matter of time if you dont do it !!. The fact some guys versions are not as bad as others is in the main due to the ORing in the crown being of varying sizes so the bigger ones push the lever out slightly. There are other reasons eg fitting of CG on case etc But if you want your watch to last and have confidence in it then getting it serviced will provide that and the service work will help eliminate the CG issue

Need suggestions for gift to a uni professor
PeteM replied to paneristi_man's topic in General Discussion
I just assumed that the points raised were a given and this would of been considered in terms of the giving of the gift. I made the mistake of assuming the question from my POV in which I wouldnt be asking if I wasnt certain that such a gift would be appropriate. Thats a good lesson for me I think and one I must not forget when replying to these sorts of questions. -

PAM 127 or 217 Or One of the Omega POs -
Looks fantastic mate I think the bezel is still slightly off with the edge but having not seen the gen in my hand I cant be certain...Where is Derek for expert view I dont understand why my Doctors signature is on the dial though !!!

Truth be told mate I bet if you chose a city in any country you could get similar answers after asking enough people!!

Just taking the mick mate I had an English education so I am not like your lot when it comes to history and geography !! (I also was lucky enough to visit San Antonio a few years back ) Please refer to link before you make a response "Spot On" was Re: the dial when pulling the crown

Basically yes mate the crown has a slight release when the lever is opened basically breaking the WT seal of the case. Here are some great links from our experts that will shed the best light on it http://www.rwgforum....__1#entry848733 http://www.rwgforum....__1#entry847382 On your 253 your spot on But as for Yanks......mate just cause your from the South...Your still a Yank !!! But I will always remember The Alamo!!

I think he is referring to the OPs watch but hasnt bothered to look at the date or the version!! I think this got resurrected because of the Vintage rep posted after the OPs first post and its followed from that.... !!!

Mate that is sweet but get it on the wall !! Lets see it hanging Dogs [censored] mate. Just one criticism if you dont mind...... I think that PVD finish is just slightly off to gen !!

+1 on the quoting pics bit Fantastic work Congrats and wear it well mate Domi has always been a man of many talents and IMHO is very underrated by a lot of guys. He has always done fantastic work for me and I would certainly not have the great reps I have in my collection if it wasnt for his skill and awesome service. Best of all he is a really nice bloke !!

Totally agree mate but dont you find that there is too much side movement still in the rep one. The easier way I can describe it is if you use the CG lever to close the crown the rep moves inwards at the bottom first whereas the gen shuts in equally across the crown. Hopefully I wont need anyone to translate that for everyone to understand!! Thats the problem with being English none of us can actually speak proper like what you yanks does!!

That is a great write up mate Thank you for sharing Though I would disagree based on my own research with the historically aspect of the wristwatch within that piece most notably in respect of its use and beginnings around the First World War. I would interested to know how you used this or its context in relation to what you were teaching and who it was for? PS I have never seen the word Conglomeration used so poetically !!

There are a lot of ways mate. You can use a dremel and rouge, some guys use a Cape Cod, or SS polish and micro fibre cloth, or some use Acetone. The AR on these are very soft so you shouldnt have too much trouble with any of these options

Thanks mate It really does give a great look to a watch I love the Rolex Sub shot
-
I know exactly what you mean mate... But it really surprises me even now that I keep forgetting just how much I like them until they are on my wrist and then I really wonder why I bother wearing anything else !! I must ask mate that first shot and case shot you took whats the format of that pic? I have seen Donerix do these a lot with his vintage's and that format is really growing on me. It really gives a sense of history (if you know what I mean ) especially to those lovely bases :) :thumbsupsmileyanim:

I havent seen the latest one except on the dealers sites. The gen does have SL Crown. Plaifender - Basically the crown is placed under sprung pressure when the CG lever is closed and when you release the lever the crown is released from the sprung pressure. On the Gens its a way of creating the water proof seal and the whole reason for the CG design in the first place

Always a pleasure to look at your creations mate I cant believe I missed this thread !! I do love the base models, not always something that can be appreciated in pics until you have one on your wrist that is !! Thanks for sharing

My 47mm PAMs have always been noticed, commented on and wrist grabbed by women, they seem to be drawn to the dome crystal and the strap, well thats what they say they like about it!! .................. at the bar it really gets commented on even if my wife is stood there, I have had girls grab my wrist to look at it closer then after I get accused of knowing them !! The comment is usually "Well why else would she come up and start talking to you!! " The only other one I have worn that gets a lot of comments and wrist grabbing is my B&R 01-92 White dial SS.
