Thanks Rob I guess the point I was trying to make was lost or I didnt do a good job of writing it. The issue of the Oring being a solution is still out, it worked to a degree (in the opposite way) with the DLs though other modifications were needed to fully resolve it but the issue from points picked up by members that know could be the cutout in the CG being undersized. It could also be that as a result of the location of the lever pin hole relative to the CG pin hole from your watch Rob or the gromet fitted inside it. Putting a larger Oring might also over strain the stem as it did in the DLs as Zig pointed out. The CG you refer to D is LHs lesser version, he has done a few. He currently has 2 versions available. and assuming your not talking about the pin mod D in terms of refinishing ( though all the ones I have had have been firm): LH does not complete his CGs unless asked, most notably the end of the lever against the crown. If you ask he will polish brush flush recess etc etc

Like most it doesnt bother me either but I do have an LH to go in it so its a non issue Also I think Josh is inclined to answer like that as he wouldnt want anyone waiting when they can buy now !!

I want to know how come D refers to your crown !!???!! Did you post pics and remove them ?? Or is D not only a PAM expert but also a clairvoyant ?? Post some pics Rob you tease !!! I am not sure why people keep referring to LH in respect of the 177, LH never made one !!! And one thing I doubt the factories will ever achieve unlike LH is the quality of his modded movements. LH did a lot of work to his 6497s from scratch which makes them the closest thing to gen that you can get and I reckon ever will. I am not just talking about the plates or incabloc but also the teething of the wheels the sunburst finish. [polishing etc etc. In addition you need to put LHs prices into context all his parts were created or modded by him in small numbers not factory production. He was a modder and when you consider prices for the supply and modding of watches by well known modders, LHs prices are not so ridiculous. They are high but the overall product was and is unrivalled by anyone else. LH produced a limited number of watches of only 5 PAM models. LH models are still an attractive option and a true piece of rep history, and shouldnt be so easily dismissed against the new 111 as this is the only model he made of the latest batch of PAMs though again it was an i series which I am sure most of you guys realise is a different proposition to the J and I dont just mean the CG and crown!!

I asked Mario to make me a strap for my 288. I saw one of his Vintage light rown crocs and asked M to make one in 27/22 for deployant. I really dont like the 26/20 of the rep straps!! The strap arrived tday and as always Mario has done a fantastic job !! I am really pleased with the finish the fit and the quality. I really think Mario is a real diamond in the rough and as far as I am concerned unless I buy an OEM strap then my straps will be from Orloff !! Apologies but light wasnt great and I was using my iPhone, though Proj always puts me to shame !!

Ray my old mate......as the scousers use to say..."Calm Down!!" :) The fact your in Holland and you havent heard anything must be good news..... From a logical POV she aint going to refund yet mate as at this time of year things are manic especially in China (even a month ago as things built up!!) ..Just think of all those online shoppers buying tons of crap Xmas presents from over there!! Then take into account the adverse weather in various countries that has created backlogs and slow delivery times etc and you are only going to give yourself a major headache mate !! I know its frustrating mate especially as you want it for Crimbo but no matter what happens the issue WILL get sorted for you it might be annoying and frustrating but it will get resolved Next time get it shipped to someone you know in the UK who can then send it on within the EU !!

Funnily enough I am the opposite to your initial assumptions. I loved PAMs from the first time I saw one back in the 90s in fact its what got me interested in watches !! The watch which I had a real dislike for was the Rolex (maybe that was more about the snobbery that comes with it in a lot of peoples eyes/minds) but that has grown on me since my interest grew. The other is the square looking watches B&R or the LTs I think look great and wear well on my wrist. The other watch that has grown on me recently is the Rad, I really didnt like these in fact I dont think I like them now but I really enjoy wearing the one I have !! Though having said all that I dont dislike any watch as a watch only its look and how it feels for me to wear it. I really like the Tourbillon movement in any watch but I would never wear one gen or rep but I really appreciate the design and principle of an addition like that to a watch's escapement. If fact any complication can get me drooling but not necessarily wearing or wanting to wear !! Nice post mate

+1 on value and looks. Overall I like these not just as watches but as a parts source I thought the jury was still out on the CG size based on pics angles etc? However if the problem was solely the gap in the CG wouldnt slightly rubbing down (fractionally) the lever end solve the gap issue of the crown as these are SL arent they? Or replacing with a deeper dish version? Hopefully the shadowing on the dial will prove to be just that and the top plate wont be as bad as it seems I havent seen good enough pics yet have you D? It will be good to get these in the hand especially the cases as again pics seem to vary on the lugs and case edge sharpness etc. Considering the effort made on these new reps I am surprised the 111 lume is as bad as it is but I reckon this might be quickly picked up on a revised version
