  1. Dont try reversing a standard CG if you want perfect mate or rather best version. Best to try a WTB they are hard to find especially A-F series. You will get the K series off DSN but not A-F series he always had his CGs upside down on his 26B. If it is a K your after I have not seen a good destro version especially with correct RB lever. I agree that best thing is to get the case and CG recoated for a proper job if you can find one. I gave my last one away to a good friend Is it a rep build you have already or are you planning to build if the first one then where is it from try going back to them in first instance. If its a build then I would suggest the chances are you case has incorrect PVD for 26 if its from a rep source whether its a 26 A or B or a K. And if its a K I would suggest its not worth the effort as the dials are awful
  2. I sent you a PM mate, did you not get it ? Its a modded 03,
  3. Damn, I paid the mods to jam all your log in attempts never thought about the Blackberry !!!!
  4. Maybe crappy but who would be able to tell!! ............as you race around in your F1 !!!
  5. Sorry what was that???????? I was busy staring at the sixth marker on the PAM 250 minute subdial, I think its a slightly different colour of white!!!! The only thing I dont think is a great idea is sanding the lever to fit the CG, but thats just me not a criticism. From the pic it still looks slightly off right at the thumb tip of the lever, I assume you couldnt get down that far or its the pic. But more importantly to me, the need to replace the Oring in the crown is not only one of solving the CG lever issue but also relieving the tension on the stem which Rob pointed out in his tear down so I think at some stage owners will need to change this, some send straight for service some wait but at this point that will or should be done. Once it is you then have a lever that is mis-shaped to the edge of the CG body (ie sunken). So if I were going to do this mod it wouldnt be until the watch had been serviced and O ring sorted then the CG pin sleeve and once I was happy with these and the lever needed it I would then do it. But hey thats just me I know exactly what you mean about the bending of the CG but I think its a viable alternative to guys not so happy to file
  6. Not for me even if it was a good rep
  7. Just to be clear are you saying you used the diamond polishing paste to remove AR??? I know how careful you are but are you sure these are scratches on the glass and not whats left of the AR which has not been removed? I have been tricked by this before. Also I are you saying if it is scratches its on the sandwich sapphire or full sapphire. I ask because it can make a difference using rouge.
  8. Tell them to send it Standard registered its half the price at least Still get tracking, the dealers I use always send their parts like this to me
  9. Watch arrived today It arrived at international hub 24/10, cleared custom on 26/10 The info never went past 'Forwarded for UK processing' so I guess that the new phrase for on route to depot and out for delivery!!
  10. Considering all the work needed to keep this place up and running, for which I am very grateful , as I am sure we all are!! I have no complaints about this at all I never doubt that the guys that can are doing all they can!! You wont hear any criticism from me for any issues that arise like this only thanks that I know it will be sorted as soon as it can be Thanks to all you guys that make sure this place is available to us all
  11. Just logged on and realised I had the same issue. Also I cant send PMs to anyone, I select the New option but I get a little thin narrow box about 5mm high and a close X on the left, all I can do is close it I know Eton ad probs logging on yesterday so I guess there are a few issues As an aside I have not been able to get on to RG since day before yesterday just get database error
  12. Believe or not its cheaper to order from the AD and they are much better quality
  13. I had exactly the same thing a few weeks ago no problem though Had another strange change for another one of mine today... First thing it said 'Out to depot' this evening that was replaced with 2 lines ' Recieved and processed' then in a seperate line 'Forwarded for UK processing' I think they are changing their usual phrases for new ones I guess !!!
  14. Tried to send you a PM but I will say it here as PM aint working.

Seriously mate please dont use that pen on your CG its for removing slight scratches not refinishing a CG

  15. I agree but the pin sleeve is soft which makes some of the CG levers push out slightly (even after the Oring has been sorted in the crown) though it can be hardened very simply
  16. I wouldnt suggest using that mate for the CG seriously you will not get the finish needed for a PAM brush. You could make it worse IMHO Have you seen Houndoggie How to or any of the other threads for doing this mate ? Its not the way I would do it but its a good basis for doing the mod. There are also lots of ways to mod CG fixing pin sleeve have you seen these ? All the crowns have cups mateTs option depend on gen or rep CG
  17. Hello mate Personally if you want OTB then go DSN much as I dont like to say that... Just suggest you remove AR If you can wait then I suggest going with the EL, yes things aint changed!!, they come about in the sales section every now and again but you pay top dollar and some of them aint what the seller thinks they are so you need to know what your looking for including the EL versions available etc. If you have more time build one, pick the best of DSN (older stuff) and EL etc plus if you want to franken let me know I have been offered gen dial, CG and crystal recently but as always its silly money !! Good luck You might see one available at the moment, non EL, please dont think about that one
  18. You forgot to mention the sandwiches and flask plus the egg whisk!! No hold on I am getting confused that egg whisk is for another DIY job I do
  19. I prefer to call us 'Particular' or is it 'Peculiar' I cant remember
  20. Yeah I know what you mean... I think its like that Rubber skin stuff that I saw the other day from Orloff. Or maybe its that Tech rubber material
  21. This factory probably produces the best 01s you can get. This is the best choice of movement. The lume is slightly wrong in colour and the markings are correct though not in size and boldness. The second hand is slightly incorrect on the weight end. The 3 and 6 arealso the wrong shape but its negligible. . The PVD is pretty close to gen but is slightly darker and rougher in your hand, its also difficult to refinish the face screws on these as they can be rough. Remember to tighten them when you get it as well as the lug bars. you wont get a tool with this model even though it says you will so buy a 1.3 hex key ready. The other rep hex keys wont fit this one as they are not gen size this one is: so I recommend you buy replacement gen lugs and screws from a authorised dealer or on the internet. The AR is also soft on these and very blueagainst thedark dial I suggest you remove the outer AR when you get it. Fortunately the blue markers will negate somewhat the blue AR however it is very distinct on the edges of the crystal. The gen is clear and single sided. You can get some decent straps for these direct from AD or from a guy posting on the straps forsale section. Or if you want non gen looking with a nice thick strap get one made by Dangerous9 he could do you a nice heritage style with blue stitching.. Good luck

If you search the reviews etc you might find useful info on the best one but you dont see too much info on these. In that case sometimes its best to find a couple of models you like then research these in comparison to whats on offer from our trusted dealers in the relevant section. Or start with one of the bigger dealers like Perfect clones or Trusty watchguy find what you like then research the gen and compare. then once you know which rep you want and the movement etc then try the smallers dealers sites or Email them direct with pics and description. Chances are they will be able to get it cheaper for you but just be sure it is like for like compared to the bigger dealers site as sometimes you could end up with the cheaper version if your not accurate in what you want. Thats why sometimes it pays to stick with the bigger dealers despite paying a bit more GL mate Search the Other Brands section as well you might find something there to help
  23. No mate the best one is when it says..... The lad at the depot said thanks it looks lovely on.....
  24. Going against the grain here but when it comes to B&R PVD that there are some very poor quality coatings even on the more expensive versions... There have been a few guys with the more recent ones who have had the PVD come off very easily. I also have had 2 bad experiences with PVD on the 01s recently and after that I wouldnt buy again unless I was doing aftermarket coating. If you do get the better coating it can like some of the PAM finishes look incorrect to gen. B&R like PAMs have a very distinct finish including the screws on the face plate. If your wearing in rotation and not being too heavy handed you will be fine but please consider that when making your choice mate.
  25. Would this take a Swiss 6497 ? Are there any wristies? I love the idea that the other one is water proof up to 30m !! Perfect for a leaky submarine!!
