  1. Had the same!! My puter said No!!
  2. I put my reply on the other place you posted
  3. I cant really tell extent of damage from the pics but it looks like a half circle ding to the left of the CG pin in the first pic. The second pic makes it look horrendous but I think thats the pic. If its the half circle then yes you can salvage that using metal grit paper and scotch brite, it will make it presentable. But given that watches get knocks and PreVs can look like they have been through a mangle, I think maybe you shouldnt worry too much about it for occasional wear while you sort it out The key to rubbing is unidirection, and avoid the engraving till you have the ding out then finish off the whole CG with fine then scotchbrite. You will also need to rub the edge but to make it look gen you should do this anyway as the gen doesnt have a sharp edge plus side of CG again unidirectional. Do this against a hard straight edge to keep grains you form uniform. Also by doing the ding you can get rid of the slopey pin hole and then flatten the pin and repolish. I keep looking at this and the more I do the more I reckon this is easily fixable
  4. How about $1.3 Million ?
  5. The quality is pretty much comparable across all reps except where it differs it is documented as are the suppliers. The accuracy of the watch or rather its attributes can lead you to know the quality you can expect. Thats comes from time spent on the forums and doing plenty of research. Buying a rep is like no other purchase though its getting better all the time. You can see the watches you like from different dealers study the pics (ask if they are current) study the specs if you are not sure ask the dealer direct, make sure he will provide QC pics etc There are a lot of brands that arent reviewed or discussed on the forums in any depth. So when you get yours it is your chance to contribute You wont find much on the 2836 as most are 4813s I think you have enough information to now make your own decision if your still not sure then reread the guide to buying reps that is a sticky and follow the advice there. Or just wait to get one off the sales section if you can wait or put up a WTB GL
  6. Sometimes I am not sure if that means the old bracelet notches.....
  7. Do you mean the dimple between the lugs on the case?
  8. I doubt that mate in all honesty and Trevor dont keep stock like that especially on such a model... Even Andrew would be unlikely to have that stock..... More likely they factory might not deal with her or charge her to high as I believe those only come from the one factory so Andrew told me anyway.....
  9. Sorry to hear your tragic news mate I wish your dad all the best and you the strength to cope Take care mate
  10. I got one laying around was going to mod it but if your desperate I dont mind
  11. Got to love Jackjos touch !! Very nice
  12. The valuation is based on the levitation mode that comes with the watch..... surprised no one noticed from the pic!!! Considering the basic quartz starts at 14K this is probably the mid price range model !!!!
  13. Trevor does them so does Andrew etc I am surprised Mary cant source it with 2836
  14. I meant more that on a couple of pics the lever doesn't appear flush at the top but in a couple of other pics the crown looks to far out. So I wasn't sure if the lever is out of place or if the crown is to far out is it pushing the lever out...
  15. Very nice case.... and the dial seems to work though I cant quite see the brownish colour except in the comparison pic. Are you going to do any more to the CG? I ask because in a couple of shots it looks like it needs some adjustment or is it the crown a bit to far off the case? Looks great though especially next to those gen pics and it was interesting thread..... thanks for sharing
  16. I want to know if your number 2, who is number 1 ?!?
  17. Its the poper PreV lugs so spring bars arent a great option mate. They look like they have been redone by the Frogfalls, I take it contacted him? I would start with contacting DSN mate, email him and ask for a couple to fit his 201a case. Do you know if you lost it or was it threaded and just fell out while you were wearing it etc?
  18. I totally agree with what you have found by reducing your collection.... I did exactly the same thing and now I have an increased appreciation of what I have. So personally yes I can have too many, I enjoy my collection more from quality rather than quantity now and the rotation is easier
  19. In which case you can get a set direct from DSN. If not the Jacksontse ones should fit as I remember. But as I said before simplest route and to avoid disappointment on fitment would be to get some spring bars that look like the screw bars when in place and do the oil burn on the ends or even paint as DSNs cases are pretty dark you shouldnt notice. I take it you dont have PreV lug bars just standard one end threaded?
  20. I wonder if they do one with a wobbly head?? Now I would buy one of those!!
  21. PeteM

    Fake or gen

Gen ..... No fake..... No Gen !!!!!.... All these pics have confused me now!!! ;)
  22. You can find a pusher on any street corner!!! Thats actually a nice watch!! Like the design and even more so considering the age!! What size is it? and if you dont mind what did it set you back?? Congrats:thumbsupsmileyanim:
  23. I got an email from him today saying 'Back from holiday' I just wish I had got one saying that He/she was going on holiday!! Rather than just stop in the middle of the communications and stop replying...... Can someone clear up if Trevor/ Le Hu is a male or female? I had assumed male but some have refferred to Trevor as a She..... Any one definitively know?
  24. Which lug screws do you have the correct PreV or standard? Have you threaded the case threads? If so easy option is buy spring lug bars... get them on eBay. Other options really depend on where you sourced the case and how correct it is.....let us know You can easily make SS look PVD by the burning oil mod (its in the how to's on RG)
