  1. I cant say that with certainty for the 03s but I can for the 01s. Certainly the AR will be important as your after a black dial (I had thought you wanted white but of course there is no 03-92 gen of that) a lot of them will be easily spotted as reps with the quality of the AR. Because the dark dial highlights that awful blue rep hue on the xtal and if you remove it again its a spotter given how they look on the gen. So you might want to think about getting it ARd anyway and relumed. So if thats the case then buy which ever one you want (not Mineral) as I said I prefer the 2836 if you have seen the 2836 25J and 4813 against the gen for some reason the 2836 runs much closer, though I have no idea why given they are both 8BS. Of course gen has 2892 which are also available in the 01 etc. As for the case - No mate that aint the way you would do it. If you get one pm me a pic and I will talk you through what you need to do.
  2. Yeah and thats his Mum!! Have another look at them mate in terms of the models
  3. @Stretch runner I read your post with interest then your interests caught my eye so I started reading that.... as I read through it though I lost the will to live.....
  4. Yes mate the design is most definitely the sole property of OP. And yes it would be illegal. I think it would help you to research a bit more around here and on Risti regarding the CG its history and stories of replication. It was originally patented and is now due to various reasons trademarked. There is plenty of information in that regard in the usual reference sources. Which CG are you thinking of copying? FWIW dont even think of using a rep CG from on here or Ebay if you find you can and are prepared for the prolonged and expensive process then you can and should only use a gen of which ever CG you chose to copy. TB sells his on Ebay as does WHO both of these are based on the gen 111 (i series I think) but dont really come close to the gen and they went through exactly the same process you are suggesting. LH is arguably the closest but still not the same as the gen. The idea of producing the perfect CGs for the PAMs has ben a long sought after grail the fact is though a few have been close non have been a complete success. I was wondering if perhaps your thread was started initially in respect of the CG lever issues related to the new Asian 7753s? Its just I seem to recall you mention the lever in the first post. If so then that is not a lever shape issue as Babola posted previously, the issue is the crowns oring and CG shape to case, all of which can be simply modded to be flush and gen like. GL though mate
  5. The gens are lumed. My personal preference is the 2836 and to me it is worth the extra as IMO the sweep is much more gen like have seen all up close. There are mixed views on the 4813 here and good and bad stories. The variations do come from several factories and quality does vary some (maybe all) of the 03s with 2836 come from the better factory and have better lume and crystal with AR also the case is 1:1 whereas some are slightly off gen but not noticeably. All the SS cases need refinishing to match gen and if you want a close gen look then the lume as well also the AR is double sided and looks better with outer removed. Heres a pic of the only white dial I have with SS, its the 46mm.
  6. Thanks D and W, Do you mean just gently ? The reason I hadnt thought to use it was the thread, if you recall, that R did about using CC to distress a Getat PVD case. And consensus suggested the CC would change the look of the PVD coating depending on how hard you rubbed it..... http://www.rwgforum....se-refinishing/
  7. And E=MC2
  8. For me its because I cant pronounce my F's.......!!!!
  9. I just searched the guys content since last year but could not see anything on PVD cleaning - Ti case cleaning, Oxidisation and creating the look of Tantulum was all I could see So if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated Thanks again F
  10. Thanks F I will have a look
  11. Hi Guys I am sorry if this has been asked before I have tried searching here and elsewhere but cant seem to find the answer. Can anybody suggest a way to restore and/or clean the PVD coating on a case? 1) without harming the coating 2) restoring the lustre or matt of the finish depending on the type of PVD Thank you
  12. D, Sorry mate. My fault I didnt want you to think I thought that at all. I have nothing but respect for your opinions and views mate Really the only point I wanted to make in my reply to your comment (This forum and the 'risti forum are two completely different living communities), was at one time RWG and Risti austensibly were the same (and are still suppose to be if you believe the Risti hype!!) they were both setup in the main to create all of the things we have both mentioned before, (the same ethos) but in my first post I was making the point that, this has changed mainly through the way the inner circles had taken the forum (Risti) in another direction bordering on Elitist. Of course the influence of OP on that has not helped but in turn and regardless it is no excuse for the way the average member is treated by some of the egos using that board and the fact they have lost sight of what a community is all about. Dont misunderstand me Risti is a good forum and can be enjoyable and informative, but it could be so much more like it was.. And in turn how grateful I am that the more senior guys here have not allowed that to happen. Here the inner circles, the senior core members (or however you wish to describe it) still ensure that a negative tiering of the membership does not happen. Of course there is a hierarchy but its a positive influence and non elitist in the sense of what is happening on Risti, which saddens me. It is I believe a hierarchy of respect rather than of post counts and length of membership or indeed the number or value of the watches owned!!! The best example I think I could give of this would be this thread........ All you guys who are members on Risti know how a thread like this would of been treated over there by the powers that be but similar issues discussed here are allowed to develop, indeed they are encouraged, and when they take place they are an open and level debate and opinions are welcomed regardless of whose opinion it may be...
  13. Which rep are you posting the wrist or the watch????
  14. I have read a few threads recently asking what certain celebs are wearing on their wrists. So I thought I would post this site up as some of you might find it useful if your trying to find out what was worn and by who... Apologies if its been posted before http://jitteryjim.com/watches/watches-in-movies/
  15. Very Nice congrats I am liking that tan strap
  16. Thankfully your long memory allows you to let us know how lucky we are..... I recall an old story my dad use to tell me .. that in the old days the streets were covered in phone boxes and TVs were the size of small cars..... And banter aside - maybe if it wasnt for these discussions on the details then we wouldnt have the quality of reps we have today and we would all still be spending silly amounts on our reps to make them more gen like....... Hold on I still do !!!!!
  17. Just had a look at that site, I am going for the Zulu model going by bezel and face especially that green circle on the face at 6 and the inner bezel alternate colouring.
  18. Thanks for sharing mate, Just to be clear you put it on the whole of the DSSD? Bezel, case, bracelet and crystal? or just Xtal. Was there any discolouration at all? as in tinting?
  19. +1
  20. Yeah, I see now. The crux of this is guys who obtain parts at favourable prices or free and then post it up for full market (Rep) price. And that J had passed on these parts to some of these members as a favour or very cheaply and they had now sold these on at hugely large mark ups.... Now thats low......
  21. It certainly was a flash of genius to incorporate the CG into the bracelet but I think the new gen version is something you need to wear to appreciate. I like them both depending on the watch
