  1. I assumed you was one of those professional cyclists They shave everything!!
  2. I just love the Kings but as mentioned I just think Hublot are really missing the opportunity to make some great watches instead we get these toy like versions that cheapens the watch IMHO. As an aside I would love to see a white dial King in paladium.........
  3. Nice selection mate Congrats and wear them well. PS Do you shave those arms
  4. Heres a few examples from my personal collection...... Here is a one example but its a bit big for my wrist And here is a fringe benefit of making your own!!!
  5. Although there are a number of flaws with this watch compared to the gen it is as D says not a bad rep. Some of the flaws have simple fixes other are generic across all rep fiddy's As a general: The interesting point D, (By the way how are you mate? ) raises is the AR, it is something that always confused and bothered me with the 47s. Excepting the issues with shape of the xtal etc which is no different in all the rep xtals, they are all flawed. But the AR is something I got too hung up on until I learnt that not only did OP produce variations in the 127 crystal but also in the AR. The gen has on the whole a very distinct though subtle bluey purplish hue, it is apparent more so on the edges of the xtal as it falls away to the bezel and in most lights. The first time I actually saw a gen xtal I honestly thought it was a rep except by its provenince and shape etc and from expert advice I realised I had got myself too worked up in the past over the bluish AR in the reps. Further experiences with gen xtals only served to reinforce this thinking. Now I am not saying any of them are perfect, indeed the closest one I have seen for AR is Rexs xtal, though this varies due to QC issues from his source. However I have found from removing the outside layer of AR from the better rep xtals that you can get pretty close to the gen AR hue. I guess the only point I am trying to make is dont get to stuck on the idea that a blueypurply AR hue is wrong for the 127 however the 217 (another learning curve) is another story!!! Congrats on the watch....just love those 47s
  6. Just banter mate There are plenty of strap makers doing fur straps, the most common I have seen is goat. But as it can attract unwanted attention from people with certain views I havent seen any on a guys wrist. Seen a few designers ladies watches with faux fur bands.
  7. On a serious note if you drop a line to Omega with a pic they will answer your question and may well be able to provide you with a set of instructions. I have contacted them on numerous occasions about historic pieces and they have always been very responsive and informative. Well worth an email.
  8. You can dress it up all you like mate, but we all know what we are talking about here!!! Let me guess he promised 3inches in a month!!
  9. Adds a whole new meaning to.... All fur coat and no knickers!!
  10. Always liked these.... its a great big lump but feels great on the wrist I wonder if the idea of doing a strap that flares out like a B&R strap would help lose the way the strap gets lost at the lugs?? Thats has always been one thing that bothered me slightly. I think the lug shape could suit it.... I was thinking that with the 300 as well the other day!! Congrats mate, wear it well Bloody hell I just cottoned on to that pic with it on the leaf of that plant..... Now that is some strong plant!!!
  11. No need to hug mate but appreciate the offer, you would need to buy me a drink first!! and the candour. Thats exactly what I was after. What do you mean by 'stoneground'? Not sure on the idea of the red myself unless the watch has it....
  12. Thanks guys. D, I had the watch all packed up ready to send and then I saw your second post mate, so I guess you changed your mind. No probs I have put it back in thewatch case I can see the thread has had a few views but no comments or thoughts on the combo, I would appreciate the feedback guys please
  13. Guys, I would appreciate your thoughts on this strap combo for my B&R 01-92. Most of my white dials have bracelets and the others I usually stick with the standard black leather, white stitching (you know the safe option). But I had this strap made for me by Dangerous9 (John). I have to say Johns work is awesome the quality is second to none and his attention to detail and the service he provides has been simply impeccable. He really takes his time to find out what you want how you want it and then before any decisions are made he puts together slideshows with options and swatches etc. Apart from being a great strap maker, he is a thoroughly nice bloke. He has also done a great strap for PAM300 which is currently away being lumed and ARd. Anyway what do you guys think of this strap combo, as I said I am not sure......
  14. There are few PAMs coming before the end of the year...... Whether they meet the term Ultimate is another question!!
  15. I think you must of been unlucky with yours mate.... I have had a few LHs more recently the 111i SE, I have to say your comments are specific to yours. Certainly my version was not comparable to yours in terms of the flaws you mention in comparison to the gen. I can only think that yours is on the back of his winding down from modding..... but who knows thats the rep world for you
  16. Surprised at your comment on the lume mate... the 01s I have had have been upto gen standard, similar to the HBs produced at one time, just assumed 03s would be the same as I thought they were from same factory... Never had the 03 as they are too small for me
  17. Blimey!! I would of liked to see the strap in macro before the sonic clean. I always thought the cleaners used to have some magic mix so when the cleaner was switched on the water changed colour!!! Made you feel like you got value for money!! Similar to seeing that blue cloud when you [censored] in the public swimming pool!! Its hard to swim away from it before anyone notices but I am getting better at it
  18. Welcome back mate. Look forward to seeing more of those pics you like taking
  19. Where is he then? I could get to Spain for that But I wouldnt come back....well not for a while!!
  20. I agree mate, you shouldnt need to tilt it at all. I assume you have a full lume hand model rather than the framed hands with lume inserts? Is your WS sure you have recieved the correct custom parts? The thing to remember is the B&R has a terrible rep for lume quality on the gens. Missing lume, no lume and poor strength. To be honest the lume you have on yours is probably the same as a lot of the gens. I say that because you have the 2836 version and this only comes from one factory which also has the best rep lume for the B&R plus AR and on the 01s the hex bolts on the CB.
  21. For what its worth I agree, its gen. Well certainly the movement, the case, crystal and dial, crown. As for going to AD unless its a PAM boutique (even then??) I would not trust a dealer to recognise a good PAM rep mate or even a gen one!!. Your best source is here or risti with better pics. Assuming the guy has papers and you have serial match you can email Richemont direct to confirm. I have done so in the past. Its not a 100% but they will confirm Millesimation etc. I have a email address for CS direct if you want it. The face to face is best as what the guy offers might not be what you get and as suggested above the seller is the most important part of your decision, any doubt then DONT!! Plus if you do face to face then cash always attracts a better discount!!
  22. I wouldnt normally agree with some of the comments above as many military units have some history that is better off forgotten. But the fact that this particular unit refused the Armistice in 1943 and continued fighting for fascism plus when you consider how and by whom they were formed and the fact that their history is still glorified by current fascist elements it would IMHO attract the same attention and perceptions as tattooing the SS emblem on your body except not as easily recognised. The only person I would expect to see wearing that Tat would be someone who shares or wants to respect and support that political view with which that emblem is associated. Surely there are better less political military emblems that could offer the same look you are seeking especially if you want to add your own twist to it
  23. Been wearing this for last few days getting to like the square of it......waiting for a new strap that Dangerous has made for me
  24. Just go to Andrew or Josh mate. But get the 1:1 case with hex bolts with either 2892 or 2836
  25. Nice watch But whats the Ace Cafe link??
