  1. I just been looking at these too mate. I originally wanted the 94 but these were far too inaccurate for my liking most notably the sunken DW. I therefore looked at the 92s, I really wanted a PVD with coloured numerals but again the accuarcy of the lume etc was off and so could the PVD finish as the B&R is very unique in look to the majority of reps. I decided on an SS case and white dial with black numerals. However if you want the black case and dial with white markers. You need to consider the following Lume is inaccurate will need to be redone The rep AR even the better versions will show a blue hue against the black dial, the gen has a single sided clear hue AR (hence why I went with white dial though with PVD case this isnt accurate) So you need to think about getting the AR redone with a clear hue. I remved one side of the AR and its very gen like. The PVD case needs to be the better version. Hands are off, size and shape (but you need to hold them together to really see) Overalll you need to get the versions from the one factory that produces the gen size case and with the hex screws in the case back on most reps these are only laser etched on. You can get these with a 2892 or 2836 movement the gen of course has the ETA 2892 (92) I preferrred the 2836 rep version as the sweep was better on this asian version movement and closer to gen than the asian 2892. I got mine from Andrew as his version was cheaper than Josh, I couldnt find any of these better versions from any one else or when I questioned them they didnt give me confidence I would get the version I wanted. I just needed to repolish the case and screws plus remove the AR and I had a very accurate rep. If I could find an AR like Chiefs I would get a black dial version but at the moment I know of no AR out there that has a clear AR other than chiefs. But if anyone is selling one please let me know
  2. Nice job mate Glad you found a use for that LH CG at last!!!! It was LHs last one ever!!
  3. Yes mate thats right. And as D says it sort of flares out from the case on the top side. The LH tends to be wider than the gen but has the best shape of the rep CGs, another key part of the shape that seems to be missed on all rep CGs including the A-Fs is the width of the CG where the lever sits in it. Its much thinner on top than the bottom. I have the measurements somewhere for A-F and G onwards if you want them.
  4. Jakob Hi I am sure others will chime in but yes there are differences to cases from PreV to Pre A to A onwards indeed even A on has slight variants in close scrutiny. Main differences in respect of above is the bezel, corner slopes and edges and thickness these are different. Not sure what you mean on the FGD dials fitting mate, fitting what case? Crystals on 44s are 35.5 generally and good versions should fit gen cases but issues arise from the thickness and height above the bezel. You can get them made in minimum quantities at various makers. Or go for a good rep, EL, JF etc from one of the members. Of course the way the shape of the crystal also effects the gen look in terms of the distortion at angles and the concaving to the centre. Or get a gen one they are quite easy to get either new or used, prices range from $200 to $500.
  5. Heres a quick few pics of the gen as you requested mate. Hope it helps
  6. Agh mate.... Thats a real beaut!!! Congrats a lovely choice such a crisply detailed and fine looking watch. Wheres the lume shot??!! ?? What strap you thinking of apart from the ammo? If you went ammo style I think a black back stitch and black sealed edge would look well. I also think a nice quality CF would suit it or Look foreward to seeing your final choice Wear it well mate:thumbsupsmileyanim:
  7. Have to say that as a film it looks like most of the dross out there but as always the watches make it interesting As for HGH dont forget all that Silca, botox etc etc As for the Botox I heard Hans Blix was banned from visiting behind the scenes when filming, therefore averting a United Nations Security resolution and imminent allied invasion {except the French of course } of the set !!!! The botox alone would truly make these guys the real deal as WMDs Luckily Russel Crowe and Kurt Russell both turned down the opportunity to play in it otherwise, especially with the latter star, it would of been a truly great advert for Hollywoods age aversion treatments!!
  8. LOL!!
  9. Blimey its hard enough for them to get the logo right on a dial......I cant wait to see this one repped......I bet the Fu will end up being looking more like the character for Fu-cked up!
  10. Hello mate Have you tried the CG lever without the screw? Does it sit flush then? If so yes its the screw these can be sourced from numerous sources and there are a few variants but its always difficult to know without having them in your hand. But mainly its trial and error unless you can be sure of the CG or/and case source. If thats not the case then it could be the distance of the crown from the CG lever when closed, if so the options are to move the crown or slightly rub the lever down either choice must be considered in terms of the finished accuracy. That might explain the feeling of tightness. As you look at the lever moving towards the crown, as you push it in, see if the lever tip starts to touch the crown and if this is causing the 'tightness' because the crown isnt pushing back as the lever closes. Maybe a pic could help but which ever is the cause and the chosen solution the tightness might go after that.
  11. Nice examples mate. Not sure that strap does it for me on the 202 but with your collection of straps I am sure the variation works Thanks for sharing PS without wanting to sound snidey, the pin looks a little high on the CG....
  12. Thanks mate, sorry I misunderstood what you meant mate. Funny though as when I fitted on of his ARs against a PAM 127 EL dial it went a purply blue almost gen like AR though it didnt against a 005 dial!! Go figure...Know idea why!!
  13. Yeah my internaional airsure !!!! Looks sweet mate .. guess your pleased
  14. I sent you a PM mate
  15. Thanks for posting TX looks great mate, makes it a litlle easier I was so unsure what to do as a lot of you guys know and even took it off sale at one point as I was getting myself in a knot over it. But Tx was the first guy who originally contacted me and so it was only right he got first dibs. I think knowing it was going to him and his collection made it easier to sell. Plus it wouldnt fit W's safe !! Only kidding!! W was 2nd guy on the list which to be honest numbered about 20 at last count... and i am still getting PMs on it!! I was being offered all sorts for it well above the asking... Didnt realise it would create so much interest Great pics mate
  16. You say a brownish hue, the few I have had done seem more yellowish to me. Do you know if he has changed his AR at all? Mine were also on black dial PAMs Is your lume colour captured right in those pics or is it off colour because of the light you are trying to get to show the AR? They are great pics though, please dont tell me you used an iPhone 3G!!! as Proj always does in his nonchalant way and which I can never repeat!!! Though I have the 4 now so its much easier but still not as good as those mate
  17. Yeah Alright now your just rubbing it in.....!!!!!!! Very ice mate !!! Great pics too..... Enjoy it looks sweet, really must get myself a white dial
  18. Yeah to name but a few!! That one looks like you might have AR? Do you mate? Mine doesnt.... although specs say it has double AR...
  19. I have been asked by a few guys about the lug fixing and if its strong enough for the watch etc. Here are some pics as you can see the main bar sits in the lug shoulder and is then screwed so the main forces are taken by the tube not the screw.
  20. It aint cashmere mate Its angora
  21. Mate as they say in Italy or Brooklyn thats an offer I cant refuse !!! I must say that the strap you made and in the wristies really suits the 300 IMHO not so much in pics but on your wrist. It also looks great on the vintage and 47 PAMs. The blue though needs to be slightly darker than the one on the CF strap. The CF is nice but I think that is more to do with the blue stitching IMHO the CF doesnt seem to suit the style of the Mare which after all is a vintage look. It was never a divers watch unlike most PAMs it was for Deck officers hence why theres no CG and the water resistance was on 30M, also the bezel was for making pencil marking when these guys were on watch. So a divers/modern type/style strap I dont go for me but hey thats just me
  22. Heres the real cashmere ... though I keep thinking everytime I swap the straps that I am going to lose that lug bar screw!!!
  23. Some wristies as requested, on my favoured strap which I think looks better in person. Though I would be tempted with this or slightly darker with a blue stitch. What do you think??
  24. That is unusual for WE usually I have found them to be very quick with the numbers, however once you have it as said previously it can take a few days to show up on EMS track and trace website. Also some dealers have arrangements to issue track numbers before they have even packaged up the item. I have recieved track numbers only to be told later that the item hasnt been shipped as its out of stock or awaiting a part!!
  25. I know a few guys here are keen to do a review of the new PAM 300 rep. So I thought I would post some pics of the watch with a number of different straps. The watch itself is very nice and a keeper for me however, I would say the lume is awful even for a rep, the markers and inscriptions are incorrect as has been discussed previosly, most notably the colour and thickness, the bezel teeth again as mentioned elsewhere are too big the ands colour is off in a similar way as the 253 rep ( I am not saying the 300 has the same colour hands as 253 before anyone jumps in!!) The case especially the lugs are off from the gen and the double AR it is supose to have is non existent! I could go on with a better comparison but as I said I think others seem keen to do that. Overal though I like the watch as a watch regardless of its flaws. In the cartel sales pitch it mentions working closely step by step with PAM experts all I can say is therm experts must of been very loosely defined or their input was ignored. As I mentioned before its such a shame as I believe with a little bit more attention to detail and with simple production amendments this watch could of been very special rather than just good As I say I like it I havent screw these all up as the double screwed lug bars would mean every chance of me losing the screws!!! This is the rep strap the watch came with, it compliments the watch very well but just not my thing, reminds me to much of my days in camo!! It is quite stiff but would soften I believe with wear also I think the material would snag easily. This is a Genuine Panerai Cashmere Gold strap This one is a Genuine Panerai Alligator strap This one is another custom strap in Dark brown again a nice contrast but just too dark for me This one is a Genuine Panerai Jules Verne again it looks very nice especially once the JV has got that darker pattina This one is a Carbon fibre with blue stitching, I put this one up as it has the blue stitching to bring out the blue in the hands I think whatever choice you guys make, I think the blue stitch is worth considering regardless of the strap material/colour choice. The blue really accentuates the blue hands in the dial. BB can you do that strap with a dark blue stitching to match :thumbsupsmileyanim:
