Mate I am not trying to be right just taking a guess mate thats all And though I agree with what your saying on the Mechs now and for the forseeable future I really think that will change and the whole ethos will change in respect of the way we use our wrists and what we put on them... If we are just talking watch fashion then I think that will always be governed by fashion clothing.... which in turn is led by music or rather the look musicians bring to break through to popularity For instance I think if tomorrow the big look was the Cary Grant look then watches would be slim and elegant, if it were Snoop Dog then big and bling (as now I guess) or say Kraftwerk then Scifi like etc etc

The point I was trying to make on the mobile phone watch was more to do with how what we wear on our wrist will change in terms of what we expect from it. I think its hard to express the technology I am talking about because I cant really guess what it might be but the comparable analogy would be someone watching a BW TFT TV without a remote at its peak imagining a 60 inch LED 3D TV. I think its more how the way we use or what we put on our wrist will change in the next fifty years. I think the watch calculator comparison is pretty narrow to what I am trying to say, that was a gadget like the mobile watch will be right now I was talking more about the tech that will allow to completely revisit what sits on our wrist and why we will use it so more the direction tech will take us... I mean wristwatches were only for women at first, men considered them effeminate, changes in warfare created the need for mens wrist watches and set aside those opinions on wrist watches in the same way I believe changes in lifestyles and the tech which will lead those changes and will create over time a completely different and unimagineable, (at this time) view of watches and their uses or replacement,

Really reallly nice Sam, as always you produce some great reps but you always understate how good they are mate. I love that dial and I honestly dont think those pics do it justice...especially with that bloody background again!!!!!! I think the only thing you need is a better CG maybe OEM!!!

I reckon in 10-20 years if I am still here then the only way I will be able to tell the time will be if I have a big watch!!! Though I will probably need someone to carry it round for me!! I honestly think watches as we know them will be completely different in that what we wear on our wrist will be more than just a time piece more of something we see in scifi movies. The next big trend is forecast to be the phone watch I think things will progress from that in terms of what the wrist piece we wear will do....

Guys I can see you have have some issues but is it really right to drag this out here... I think we are better than that. If people have concerns then let it be dealt with properly by the mods..... some us aren't privy to whats gone on...

Thanks mate Any thoughts on the rule of the models using them? As I mentioned with the brushed CG..Polished CG...have you come across that in your experience mate Or anyone else care to comment on what they have seen with gens

I think its suppose to be a PAM 93 family though thats a Ti case possibly a 90 but thats a black dial mate if you look at the gen its not great considering dial etc but it aint bad for the money All the power reser ves I know only one is blue dialed thats the 93. Plus its not a straight blue but rather has a concentric circle look I cant think of the proper word at the moment..., where are you Doc I am sure better guys than me might know better.

Thanks again guys for your thoughts I really appreciate it Going back to the brush and polish aspect of the crown cup. I have also noticed on a few of the gen crowns I have had on the 44mm's are very highly polished unlike the crowns we get from the better sources. I was wondering if theres any rule to this if you guys know?? For instance I think the rule from what I have seen is ' Brushed CG brushed cup.... polished CG polished cup' would you guys agree?? Though of course the 47mm's are not following that nor do the 44mm fifties cases like the 253, 212, 286 etc Any thoughts or experiences?

I am amazed he would use a gen in the first pic and people wouldnt spot the difference, I mean any fool could see the sec dial is completely different. Did it really sell???

Thanks mate Looks lovely So for reference what colours the AR hue on it? How do you know about the crown is it from visual comparison or is it recorded somewhere on line etc because I would of normally assumed where theres one theres more... with PAMs that is.. but you mention its the only one (in terms of model/series etc) if thats the case any idea why or how it came about at all? I would be interested to know as it seems a strange part to vary in such a limited way if you know what I mean mate. I am stiil drooling over that movement just wishing that buying one and parting it out would be viable for my franken 217.

Good point mate, its funny how you can focus on a flaw that in the scheme of things is pretty minor compared to the other flaws. I suppose its because for most of us its a easy flaw to spot and comment on. For me its one of those rep flaws I could never understand, as with many, that such a simple part could be so badly repped. But thats the same with all PAM reps its probably one of the most basic watches in terms of design but yet noone gets the majority of reps even close and you cant blame the factories not having the real thing to copy as so much info is out there and so many of the parts are pretty generic regardless of the variations in particular models. I think OP pay them to maintain a poor rep design!!!

Yes mate, but starting to feel better now... Without stating the obvious I think you will struggle as it aint the correct colour more an individual choice. Given you want to turn your hand to trying mods mate, why not have a go yourself with a set. You could become the next Vac!!! Seriously though I dont think you would have a problem given what you have done in the past with no previous experience mate

Sorry if I missed something but are you saying you dont want the white hands? Or you do but dont want the way it lumes? I read a while back that a guy used varnish/lacquer over them to dull the effect you mention but that was on the correct colour hands ie white.
