I guess the value of yours was based on them not giving a discount against the DSSD similar to trading in car. I would think you could pick up a new DSSD for about $7500 or so Still its always good to see the gen and get a feel for it. Did you take pics/wristies so you could think about it before buying??

In terms of how I would use it I agree with the comments above. Its a great 'couch potato' bit of kit. But I will go with DoubleT I will wait for the a V2 or V3. I think Apple will approach it in the same way they do the iPhone, or any other product, with upgrading cascading down as the initial interest wains. The problem is I think these upgrades are already there ready but as with the iPhone they are being held back to maintain continuity of sales etc. The comment by Red will I am sure be adressed very soon after first release. As with other issues raised after first release. So much as I want one and welcome its arrival I will wait... not too long but long enough to take advantage of an improved/upgraded version.

Fortunately I got mine for a lot less then resold the straps kept deployants made my money back

Is this the canadian seller on the bay? If so I have bought a couple of straps of him and have no problem with what I got especially for the money. And if they are rep then they are better than anything out there including the V1 deployant.

No matter what you say if value is over £18 you will be hit with VAT if its over £36 it will also attract duty plus VAT. Never use the term watch even the manufacturers wont do that. The official phrase is 'precision instrument' UK customs and excise do not recognise the term gift or return for repair etc they go on declared value only. They also rely on paperwork submitted by shipping company and only carry out random checks on the package frames as they sit in the bonded areas. If you want to be covered you must declare the value if you take the risk then still put down a couple of hundred dollars and ship at least EMS or better to reduce risk of loss or of getting it back later if initially lost. You shouldnt value low and send by expensive shipping method that might raise questions. The risk of loss and reduced value is minimal but if there are papers certs etc then send these seperately if you do lose the watch then use certs/paperwork to claim watch loss on house insurance!! If its that important to you finacially.

Sorry mate but I havent the typing skills to answer such a big question. Maybe start with narrowing down your search by looking at the reference section Paneristi see what you like. Come back here look for reviews on those that are repped decide on budget then maybe ask again as the choices so far are wide and vary in Best OTB, Maybe look at DSN and Sead or if you have more to spend look at Little hero. Or chose a cheaper version that you can more easily mod later if you want.
