  1. Mate you been stitched! Demand what you ordered cause its just an old rep version a bad hybrid of an early and later 111. Out of Interest what does serial number say I can't see it on my phone. You got nothing on that watch that relates to an M series watch! Sorry for your trouble but get back to him now mate though not sure why you used an associate of a trusted dealer would you mind explaining please
  2. Personally I had always referred to that one as the 6497.. But I am far from knowledgeable when it comes to movements
  3. This is my PAM 000 This model was introduced on the G series. It was created as an homage to the 201a by OP. (Arguably a marketing ploy! But hey..Who cares!) It is nicknamed 'The Poor Man's Logo' as the only Logo Risti's consider as The Logo is the 201a... Thats their opinion! I absolutely love this watch as to me it epitomises everything about OP. The sausage dial, The strong lume, The Logo, The base dial, The fat CG. This model was released in a year that OP was changing its standard design on Luminors... up until then they had released models with a thin CG and sausage dials.... for the G series OP reintroduced the Fat CG (Similar to the PreV CGs), they introduced the sandwich dial and made small changes to the case, the crystal including the AR and the millesimation plus some other variations ie movements etc You can generally tell a G series as below the 6 is written 'L Swiss L' rather than 'L Swiss Made L' Another thing to consider with this series is, as with PreAs, As etc there were variations to each model, Transitional models you might say like the A series to B series models... so you can see some models that have parts from the previous series with parts from the current (at that time) series. Again this is what makes Panerai's all the more fun The G series 000's are different to all 000s that followed, most notably the size and shape of the lume.... the G series indices were thicker and a slightly different shape... after that series the dials have remained constant. In addition the CGs are also different, to be honest I am not quite sure how, I do see small differences in the pin and around the crown area though not enough to be sure, but those that know have commented on it and in addition one thing I do know for certain is the 000G and 005 CGs have different part numbers to the CGs on other models. That fact I got from OP itself. I can post comparison pics if they are wanted by anyone?
  4. Here is my rep of the 202a... It was one of the first models made for sale to the general public by OP. As I recall and I am sure someone will chime in when the 201a was released for sale this model was originally designed with the Italian Military in mind. Hence the Marina Militare. However due to the popular demand for the 201a, OP decided to release this model for general release. As with the 201a the dial comes in several versions, The Matching, Non-Matching, Thick (Fatty) Indices, Thin Indices, however there are variations on depth. Also the Non Matching dial only comes in the Fatty indices. The non matching refers to the colouration of the lume, with the first batch of 202a's made the varnish reacted with the Tritium lume this caused a rapid change in colour... as soon as this was spotted OP changed the varnish... so only the first batch in serial numbers has this quirk. As the hands were never varnished the colour remains constant allowing for aging of course. This is the same for the 201a, in terms of Non-Matching as above. By definition there are only 2 models that can be Non Matching, The 201a and the 202a. I decided to go with Non Matching and thats also why I am selling the matching dial
  5. Paul is dead..... Paul is dead.....Paul is dead
  6. Now N you have to play Re Fa Mi Si Sol La on a few turntables!!! Let us know how it feels mate
  7. Sorry didnt mean to sound negative just trying to show my appreciation of the quality of the pics.... It is a fantastic rep for sure As an aside did you know that the 000 dial of the LSML is totally different to the LSL only found out myself the other day after seeing a direct comparison...
  8. Just had another look at that 000.... great pics G... I can see just how off the lume is now... in terms of height and thickness I had asked a few guys on the PAM section but never got an answer..
  9. No mate... Its just a point of discussion on Risti currently It seems to have upset a few people...
  10. So having spent some time collecting parts and researching, I decided on my next project which I have finally completed to my satisfaction - For the moment ! This model is to me what OP is all about That is "No matter what you may know there are exceptions to everything" and this applies more than most people realise to OP during the PreV, PreA and early series.... much less so in the later series but it still occurs The gen of this watch has appeared in several places and I am sure what some will immeadiately realise is this is not what you should expect to see. The beauty is that even a knowledgeable Risti might assume the gen is a franken or a rep of some kind and its a good lesson, when it comes to PAMs..."They are not all the same and nor do all the models follow the rules" During OP's final year and into the confusion that followed as Cartier took over.... some (arguably many) variations occurred: this model is one of them.. This franken is based on a model which is basically a PreA (6500 case) PAM 002... the variation is that it has a PreA logo dial.... This is the same dial as the PreV 5218-201a (The Logo) but it has PreA lume and dial treatment... Unlike the PreV dial this dial was treated as most PreA dials tended to be and similarly to some of the 5218-209 and the 5218-210 which were the last models produced by OP before the take over (not forgetting the 5218- 218), this was during a time of 'partnership' (phased handover) between OP and Cartier hence the change of case and CG etc. Therefore the gen model has all the details you would expect to see in a PreA 6500 model except for a Logo dial, though the Logo dial was also treated as a PreA hence the indices were filled more and there was a distinct lack of varnishing compared to the PreV treatment. I nearly went for the 5218-209 originally but given none of the CBs available anywhere are even slightly accurate and that I found in my research a few others had decided to do it I chose this option... I tried my best with the pics, hopefully it will get better Lastly and most importantly I really want to thank my friend Mike for his input and advice and to Rob [& J ] (Zig) for his touches on the dial & hands and, as some may recall from his threads on the GD section making the tube and stem
  11. Neither are accurate.... its really a matter of which you personally prefer... as yes they are uncomparable in that sense If it is something that will concern you always go closed CB... For example some guys make a big thing about the 6497 CDG engravings on the plates but to be honest anybody else that can spot these as fake will notice a hell of a lot more thats incorrect about that rep movement... its like worrying about the position of the LSML when the A and R are off in Panerai, the lume is wrong and the indices are too thick etc etc A6497-1 = 21600 bph Lo Beat A6497-2 = 25500 bph Hi Beat A7750 = 28800 bph Hi Beat A7750b1 = 21600 bph Lo Beat I really suggest you read more yourself from the forum mate as this is a big big set of questions.... I dont mean dont ask I just mean try and streamline the nature of the questions..
