Gen Lume is only greenish once its charged in daylight..... It is whiter I think thats why the old reps always had that greenish lume when uncharged because the gens do look green in strong sunlight.. The lume is predominantly C1

Having read through this thread I can see what JC meant now... but I have to agree with Don and Z3's first posts... What I have seen from this thread underlines how much the Admin on here allow open discussion and opinions to be shared, even though there has been little qualification of some of the statements made, this cannot be said for many other forums... Ultimately, I always believed this forum to be about its members, informing, educating, supporting and advising all within the environment of a friendly and open community.... it is for the individual to decide how they want to use the information and comments made within the forum... There is a great deal more to this than the original post would suggest... and IMHO it is not for us as a forum or as members to make judgements or react based on situations that we are not privy to or know the history of.. I hope that makes sense ...

Congrats.... PVD is night and day to older versions from David.. The most impressive improvement to me for DSN is the aplication of the lume in relation to the edges of the numeral stamping actually looks right now for the PreA.. G wear it well mate Couple of questions though as I cant tell from pics.. Whats the depth of the rehaut like is it shallower than his older cases? Whats the lume on the hands like.... is it yellowy green or greeny yellow (depending which way you say it) like the PreA gens? What are the dimples like? How do lugs look side on .. on a flat surface? I only ask as some shots give different impressions... to my eyes !! What buckle did David send with it? PreA?

Orloff I am not sure I get the 'Looks cheap' comment S... but hey straps are so subjective..... the leather quality is excellent especially when you factor in the cost... the finish is good quality.. certainly all the ones I have had... Wotan and Gunny are great straps but I think IMHO a slightly different market... But if you are talking accuracy then yes I wouldnt disagree but then you need to remember these are handmade whereas the gens are machine made... as a comparison I would equate this strap to a gen in the same way I would equate the 111M to the gen including the price.. Frog also did a lovely one off PreV strap which he posted in his section that he made to order... I always fancied one of those too in Dark Legno or maybe even a PAV style rather than PreV

Totally agree.... if you can live with the faux rattrapante pusher/movement.... which I see know reason why anyone cant then on the wrist the 286 looks much more gen like especially in sunlight... as well as above the numerals especially 6 is better plus way inscriptions sit in the waffle shapes (alignment) also the position of LSML... CP stack also looks better IMHO

Mario recently got a stock of VC leather and I thought it was a good opportunity to get some PreV style straps using a couple of Pauls MX buckles.. As always Mario has done a fantastic job for hand made and the leather is buttery soft just like my Dirk straps and I must say Mario's straps have a much better feel than the MP straps I have.. Overall I am really impressed with these straps and the quality Mario brings with his custom straps.... In the main group shot there is a first gen Dirk with gen MX buckle and a Dirk with gen PreV buckle in the back ground for comparison.... Once again Mario has done a great job especially when you consider the price that Mario charges :)

W, in answer to your question M does both but if you asked for croc nubuck then thats what you would get mate... I have had a few pics sent from M showing the Croc Nubuck hides when he gets them.... that way I can choose my pattern

I havent seen them in my hand but from the pics mate the 009 is by far a better option for 6500/6502 cases... but as its pencil PVD it will depend which PAM you want to do as PVD shades varied on gen models/series etc

+1 on the 288K best out the box rep IMHO.... the key is the strap with these..... so it can be worn for any occasion depending on strap choice
