I am really glad one of your incomings arrived before the weekend mate...congrats
Strap 3 for me
Wear it well
If you get it serviced you will remove a good deal of the loudness.... or swap the movement out for an ST etc.... Or just get a nice thick closed CB
Thanks mate... simply awesome share.... I have been through the first 15% and must say the 2 that strike me are the 243s....
Brilliant...I really appreciate the link mate Thanks
Nouveau Riche EL riff raff .... now that made me smile
Subbie...... The 127 is well developed but still a way off from release but it will be from the Cartel (A) as it is being built from a gen owned by one of the dealers here....
Angus has taken a leap forward in the normal process we associate with developing new reps.... and I am sure he will do some more but I get the feeling from his posts that he is looking for something out of the SIHH 2011 that aint PAM...
To be fair to him.... I think he has taken an awful lot of Sh*t from others in the rep making / dealing world over what he has been doing of late ;) I am sure a lot of guys here will know exactly what I mean so I dont feel it right to put it in type...
No worries mate...
I am sure the guy realises this is a pivotal point in his membership here.... just give him the chance to move on.... We all deserve another chance
Flin0310
Are you saying you aint the guy that posted on RG... for example Thread Title..... BNIB Eddie Lee front load Fiddy with CB #0581/1500 arrived (lot high res pics)
Which has now been deleted by the mods there
Please mate if you are.... then stop this now..... Just move on and enjoy your time here
Just picking up on what I found reading up on the coatings PreV etc...
According to DG who also referenced DZ in his comments....
I believe the first 70 202a's had this weaker coating though shading was the same as the later ones with more durable finish.... The PreA and some A series 009 and 004 had the same coating as the 202a (later) but the first of the As had a different darker coating which suffered the same problems as the 202a so the quality changed again on the later As and onwards including the tone/shade of the PVD.. That last part I think came from G in a thread...
You can get these off the bay from Wholesale outlet, Paneraiboutique or from Helenerou, Jacksontse, Getat, DSN or a few dealers..
Each vary in quality material AR etc but a little research you will find a decent one to replace your broken one...
Totally agree on the gen look... I do prefer the idea of the case developing a Pattina... though Avitts is more robust and flexible for multiple use...
The thing with Robs PVD is he generally darkens, with oils, his PVD finish to get the gen look so if you need to shade down just dont get the darkening done.... but gen shades do vary eg 202a varies to 203a whereas PreA 009 matches 202a but 009A is darker and thinner/less robust etc etc
Each has a place but for accuracy I would go PVD then enjoy wearing it and watch it over time.... get its character
Mate there is only 2 ways..... Get it and coat it.... or wait for one to get on the sales forums.. I sold an A-F recently with Zig PVD so they do appear...
If I was going to do it myself then I would also source a decent case and crown and do the lot.... you have options Avitt or Rolli etc
River sometimes knocks out the odd DLCd case etc
And of course it also depends on the model as PVD shades and finishes varied with PAM models
I cant fault Reg... really nice bloke to deal with...
But really your question depends on which PAM and which version etc etc.... Its the PAM thats the key.... Reg is a trusted dealer and a nice bloke
Cant say more than whats been said.... but I do agree with W... if you aint never done this before then please think about using a professional/experienced guy..... there is no reason you cant just take the crown into any watch smith and get the broken stem removed.... or if you wont then make sure you have the correct tools mate
By the way whats that gunk in the crown cup?
