Please dont take this the wrong way mate... But there is a certain knack to doing the lugs on these Rads..... if you notice there is a rut in the bar where it sits in the case.... the screw catches on these .... if you push the bar too far in or not far enough then the lugs become loose and eventually slip out... this is very common with the rep lugs as they vary with screw lengths, size of ruts and position etc... I found I needed to tighten the screw slightly.. then jiggle the lug bar in and out slightly till I felt the screw was looser.. ie where it marries with the rut... then I tightened it.. I really solved the problem with Panatime's replacement set... these are much better made and come with gaskets... not sure if he does PVD to match or if you need to you can mod with PVD or Linseed Oil mod ... the latter being cheaper and easy to do at home Apologies if you already know this and have tried it.... Of course if its a problem with screw length then get Panatimes set and just use the screws

PAM cases & dials in various stages of production

You cant beat pouncing about in the old anorak .... though a mac can be just as good As I recall the 'National Inquirer' did a report a few years back on the 'Top Gun' High Five but its still too painful to recall ...... -
No mate.. its basically a spring tensioner
-
A Swan Neck is part of the regulator it holds the tension of the regulator arm against the adjusting screw A regulator can be adjusted to make the watch run faster or slower...
-
Well Done mate... And congratulations... been good having you about mate

Certainly a winner.... I think LH had to carefully replace that one on its pedestal with a bag of Vintage Rolexs so as not to set off the flying spears and big rolling ball !!!
-
I can only suggest you go back to the dealer mate and try asking from him... they can be pretty easy to lose.. so he might be willing to help... If that didnt work I would try contacting a modder they might have the where with all to sort it... Or you can just try using some loctite.. though it limits the watch in terms of strap changes and if you want to use it as a daily beater.. I cant remember though if there might be enough to tap a thread into the lug and use a standard bar?

PAM cases & dials in various stages of production

I fully accept those criticisms mate !!! And I am guilty as charged.... One day when I have scrapped together enough of the necessary to buy a superb OTB rep please be sure ... I will post pics assuming I dont sell my camera to help fund it ! .... but I cannot promise to do those strap shots as I am the last on the screwdriver rota and my turn wont come round again till Xmas 2012... as I mentioned I am scraping together the necessary for one of those OTB beauties and I cannot afford the luxury of a strap changing tool... As for QC pics... well the above answers that one... but rest assured they will be posted once I have them and with it will be the requisite questions.... Did I mention my search button tool was broken !! And as an aside what does OP mean? I must admit I am reknowned for my hum drum stance on watches and although I note that point ... unfortunately I am not in a position to afford the medication to rid me of that dreadful afflication.... did I mention I was scrapping together the necessary to buy a great OTB rep?..... When it comes to high fiving .... I once tried the 'Top Gun' high Five which ended in tragedy and a long spell in intensive care I havent been the same since and nor has the cat... but thats another story !!! Of course you are right.... "I (You) dont know you anymore" .... there is a simple reason for that..... Its my time of the month.... not sure what time that is exactly as I still need a accurate OTB rep... though I am still trying to scrape together the necessary ... Did I mention that?? !! -

Thanks guys..... I wish i could take the credit for these great shots but it wasnt me but another guy (MW) I do think it highlights what M said previously about the quality between gen and rep especially if you do drop one !! I think the dial make up is interesting as well especially topcoat... -
FGD Builds: Three Shades Tritium Three Case Finishes

Nice pics mate.... I still remember missing that Dirk by minutes .... I bet he was inundated with Ems for the price it went for !!! Great buy M tell us mate, whats your reference source for the lume in terms of colour and edging on the 009.... I had this dial finish myself but as I couldnt find any referencing for the non-matching lume I replaced the lume... Care to share please Congrats mate I decided to stop my 209 project and go for the anomolous 6502 with 201a logo dial....mainly because of the CB and dial finish and hands -
There are a few gen owners who have DLC'd or PVD'd the gen logo models... 000 and 005 Personally if you wanted to do that I would get the 005 and send it to Avitt for DLCing... more expensive but would be a much better version Depends what you want from an accuracy POV in relation to what you want to pay.... The one you refer to is a really old rep and very poor in terms of any accuracy... dial, CG etc etc dont waste your money on that mate If you want something on the dark side that excellent OTB and great value then go for the 26K... destro but great value and very accurate OTB Or possibly David's 009 if you dont mind base dials IMHO these are the best PAMs (bases I mean)
-
+1 Or a little more patience might prove fruitful.. The 292 is updated version... its only one of 3 released & updated next generation reps from the factories..
-
I bet you even have your strap ready and waiting for it F

I posted these on my last thread then thought it might be better to show these on a new thread... it underlines the stamping process followed by the CNC process that Mike talked about in that thread...
