  1. I find myself there for work once a month or so as well. On foot you can see Times Square, Empire State Building (go to observation deck), Rockefeller plaza (Xmas tree/skating rink in winter) and a few other local attractions. If you are a big photo guy..head to B and H just for the fun of it.
  2. Consider the Laco Fliegers. Do a google search, they have a fantastic history. Can be had in automatic miyota for under 400 US or Swiss ETA for around 700.
  3. Great read. Thanks a ton for the link (for us using tapatalk.)
  4. Thanks bam. Ill head there when I get home. I'm on my phone and the search function is mediocre at best.
  5. Is there a difference in quality between the 42 and 45 or are they identical aside from the size? I've heard the 42 is the better rep over the 45 but not sure why.
  6. First rep. When I get home (short family vacation) ill get out the good camera and take a few detailed photos if anyone cared to see.
  7. Sorry to hear all of this CJ. If I wasn't in Florida I'd say lunch on me at the airfield. Raincheck.
  8. What do you mean by too much for you? What about it don't you like?
  9. Trusty's ceramic black submariner arrived... WOW! >>>
  10. I would say that zero hits on the search function would be a red flag. There may be zero positive or negative reviews on that particular site but there are NUMEROUS positive Omega reviews from other sites/dealers. If it were me....id stick with what works. If 15 people tell me a watch they bought at XYZ is fantastic and here are the pictures....id consider buying from xyz.
  11. I came here looking for very low quality reps. This site has been a dissapointment to say the least.
  12. Lets try this again...I tried this about a month ago on tapatalk (there was the first mistake) and when I went to hit send, it all dumped. My feelings were hurt and I gave up. My name is Shawn and I am from New England. The reason I say hello from all over is because with my job as a pilot I spend a lot of time in hotels which leads to a lot of time on RWG from places all over. In case you are wondering..typically nowhere exciting, for example, I write this from Buffalo NY where it is 15 degrees and snowing. I joined this site maybe 3 or so years ago and have done a lot of reading and browsing. I have been a watch guy since I was probably 20 years old when I learned to appreciate a particular watch over say a generic timex ironman. Only recently have I decided to get into the discussions more and start adding a few watches to the collection. So far my collection consists of all relatively inexpensive gens in the 350-700 dollar range. I recently decided that id like to get a GMT IIC so figured id do a bit more research on the subject. Like most (some?) I can afford a gen but I simply can not justify putting down that kind of money for a watch at this point in my life. I do not feel that at this stage that a QUALITY rep would give me any less satisfaction than its gen counterpart. I buy a watch because I like it, so I am not as picky as to a true "1 to 1" or some of the tiny details that give a watch away as a rep. I wear a watch for me and me alone. If someone asked me if it was "real", of course its real..its on my wrist, but it is not a rolex etc. My plan is to grow my collection to the point that when my son is out of the house and if I still have a job...that the reps that have stood the test of time in regards to me still enjoying their function and style may be upgraded to a gen. I go back and forth between liking the big traditional pilot style watches with flight calculations on the bezel (called an E6B) that are in the 44-45 MM range to liking a lighter watch with leather strap that falls into the 42mm range. Lately on my short list of watches I would like are: Rolex Vintage 1675 pepsi - I would like this one to have special attention and likely be a franken Rolex Sub Rolex DSSD (Due to its size, I think I would hardly wear it, it is just too interesting not to own) Breitling Transocean Breitling Superocean 44 Omega Planet Ocean Ceramic 42MM Dont tell my wife....but I will probably buy most of these in the next year or so. Watches I own- BK GMT IIC (still in transit) Citizen Blue Angels titanium Citizen Calibre 2100 Citizen Eco Drive Stainless Steel Sport Tissot PRS 200 (wife bought this for me as a gift 10 years ago) Laco Type B Automa Poletto There is one more that I simply cant remember what the heck it is and im not home to even go look. I am a BIG fan of either the automatic or winding or eco drive watches. Although a battery can last a while, it seems to me like they are just always dead when I go to wear the watch. Lately I have only had a desire to buy automatic, it feels to me as if the watch has a soul, a heartbeat almost. I like the mechanical aspect of it.
  13. Ive been told by more than one person to never buy an audi. That being said...I certainly havent ruled out the A5. I would just do a lot of research before putting down the money. Most review sites put the A5 at average reliability, so not great and certainly not bad. Wish they would carry a better warranty....4 years, 50K miles is not impressive compared to some....if this were a honda accord then it wouldnt even need a warranty!
  14. Im not terribly far from you. Sitting in a hotel in Jamaica (NY) now near JFK and ill be in Buffalo all day tomorrow.
  15. Try here.... http://www.rwgforum.net/user/6-kb/
  16. Meant Audi A5..15K difference in price tag.
  17. I have a family now so its time for the 4 door family cruiser. Once my son is old enough to get himself into the backseat I will go back to a coupe. Thinking Audi S5 or BMW 335XI or Mercedes C350 maybe? I will say that this car has totally changed my perspective on Hyundai...this has been a GREAT car and was really innexpensive with a nice warranty. Im a total convert.
  18. The best place to buy is from an authorized gen dealer. Now...if you're looking for a rep...I'd start with the search function.
  19. Greetings from sunny Newark NJ where cracked out prostitutes roam the streets (literally). Disclaimer: I am from NH but work has brought me to the garden city of Newark for one evening of enchantment.
  20. This is why I bought from someone like BK. It adds that little bit of QC to the process. At least I know that it wont be arriving DOA or that he has at least gone through it and is satisfied with the product he is sending. It potentially eliminates some of the hazards of buying.
  21. For those that have both (possibly). Does this watch feel similar in size to the DSSD? I know their dimensions are very similar however I was curious if the breitling had a different feel. The breitling seems more robust all the way around and it doesn't seem as top heavy. Anyone have both?
