Great shots F. Love the inspector
I have been patiently contemplating the Nautilus for some time now and every new post brings me closer and closer to getting one.
Thanks for sharing
@Triplehed - Looks awesome. That is the same insert I got from Silix from the SMP Chrono.
@Teejay - I know the original didn't have AR but the single side AR is very suptle and makes a world of difference. The dial stands out and you can really see the waves - personal preference.
Thanks for Part 3 Vic. I have to say I am not a Blue strap guy - even though I'm sure it would look smashing with my blue eyes
I am really liking that Senape and am anxiously awaiting Elliot's next special sale to grab one
Thanks for sharing and teaching
This is the old school SMP with the ETA 2824 movement and pins instead of screws in the bracelet.
It now has a new bezel, from the SMP Chrono which has a more accurate blue but I am still not happy with the Pearl Of course, the bezel is now aligned as well.
Also has genuine dial and hands masterfully installed by Ziggy.
Recent addition is a fresh Single Side AR coating courtest of Chief's last run. Highly recommended as it really makes the genuine dial waves POP.
Only thing left to do is an OEM crown and tube and try Veloci's DIY Pearl upgrade as outlined in By-Tor's amazing Qmega Buyers Guide.
Here is a genuine for comparison
This is a classic timepiece and one that I will likely never part with and will likely continue to improve on.
Thanks to Ziggy and Chief for their contributions to this project
Enjoy
Just got this back from Ziggy with a Cannon Pinion fix, Relume with Superluminova and a newly AR coated crystal courtesy of Chief's last Single Side run
Ziggy's work is always amazing and the Domed crystal really came out nice with the single AR. It makes a big difference in visibility and is highly recommended
I'm just starting to narrow down my PAM collection to my "Keepers" and I find that these types of mods on them are very satisfying
Enjoy
You see the tint on the black dial Tantalium more but the Dial just really pops out on the white dial 188 with the AR. It is hard to photograph and describe but trust me it makes a huge difference
Unbelievably good effort CBR. That first one really sets off nicely with the Ferrari dial, and as Vic sais, the second adds a nice texture and casual feeling.
great effort and thanks for sharing
Great review. The Nautilus has grown on me over the years but the size is what always made me back off. This new generation of Jumbo's is looking mighty tempting.
Thanks for a wonderfully researched review and most of all thanks for sharing your research with the forum
Just got these back from Ziggy and wanted to share the results.
First is my 188. Ziggy had previously painted the subdial hands black (before the models came out with this fix) and Superlumed the dial. He just completed the final mods I plan to do (until I rdecide to replace the Asian 7750 with swiss) by replacing the rep crown with one of Kruz's OEM crowns. It is also sporting a newly AR'd crystal thanks to the last Chief AR run.

Next up is my 172 Tantalium. To me, this is an underrated Panerai model. It is truly a beautiful design and the Rep is pretty good, albeit not made of tantalium but Titanium. If I could find the right caseback I'd be finished. The Rep caseback had no markings, unfortunately.
These are the first mods I have done to this and I think Ziggy did an incredible job. He did a cannon pinion fix and also relumed the sausage Dial with Superluminova. I really like what the Chief Single side AR did for the crystal and highly recommend his services
I'm no By-Tor or Pugwash in the photography department but hope you enjoy the results of the work as much as I do.
Thanks Zig
I'm throwing my vote in for Entwistle for Rock Bass GOD, but I guess you all expected that
Great post Pho. It is interesting to see how the collection changes over time. I'm pleased to post that I have never gone for a Bling Rollie, though
Oh yea, another love vote for the Tourby
Hey BT, I just got down from a long weekend in the mountains and getting around to catching up on the posts. This is a long overdue review of the Daytona. I have also resisted getting the rep and have grown up in the forum reading about Ubi and Freddy's Frankens and can't help but admire the beauty. I'm just not sure I can deal with the size
I've become a big-watch guy, I guess
Another teriffic contribution. Hats off to you and Stephane
Euno, my heart goes out to you and while I am toasting my dad tonight, I will toast yours as well.
I also lost my dad and took care of him at home, watching him die. It's a huge loss but dwell on the time you had. In spirit, he will always be with you.
