  1. very well said crystal, i definately enjoy discussing the craft of a fine rep over the poor knockoffs from canal street, which i see all the time being i am from and live in nyc.
  2. i get compliments all the time on my rollies, most people really havent the slightest idea, even alot of people that have gens. unless they're really into watches, they have no clue, even if they own the gen.
  3. did you just call me a homo??????? lol furthest thing from....but remember, there's nothing wrong with it
  4. no no, not in a brokeback way, hahahahaha. in a "you have all made my life alot easier" way!!! jesus........
  5. pretty damn frustraiting, guess i'm just gonna have to have these 2 movements serviced to ensure it wont happen again, or at least not as ofter
  6. that garfield watch is the coolest thing i've ever seen, think they'll rep it anytime soon?
  7. thanks randy, the crown has always been in that position, not exactly sure why this is happening, but i guess its not that big of a deal, i can rework the cgs and replace the crown and tubes while I send the movements off to The Zigmeister.
  8. dont want to sound like a noob, but since i have never purchased from EL before, is EL eddielee?
  9. well, looks like off to The Zigmeister they go!!!!! before i strangle someone, lol
  10. yup, 1.2mm, dont know why that piece is just going haywire on both movements.
  11. thanks bro, i just dont get it. seriously, i am barely touching the release, and everything goes bonkers!!!! 2 mbw's, a 1680 and a 1665. it doesnt make sense to me after seeing so many successful mods and repairs on this board, that my 2 mbws would act up like that.
  12. 2 problematic eta movements in one week. both times removing crown with TINY screwdriver and almost no pressure, both times keyless works go out of wack, both times get them back in order, both times putting the crown back in, and both times it grabs, but nothing works. what the hell???????? this should really not happen, [censored]!!!
  13. sometimes, if the weather is right, sure, but i always wear my kevlar alpinestar gloves (due to a accident and almost losing my pinky) and my fullface arai, no matter what. in nyc, it can get ROUGH!!!!! the r1 is a helluva bike, love it!!!
  14. sorry, didnt mean to turn this thread into a motorcycle show but hey, you gotta love em!!!!!!
  15. tis what i did my friend, did it all, followed the picture tutorial and all. it worked for a minute, but it just will not stay, i tested it a few times before i put the dial and datewhell back on, just wasnt having it, doesnt want to work
  16. can that be done, cause the datewheel from my mbw is definately wider then the one on a standard eta 2836.
  17. thanks where would i source a datewheel? i'm bummmmmmmmin
  18. followed everyones guides to fixing the crown pusher, and it worked, but it is still not working properly, so i have decieded to just purchase a new movement and save myself the headache. does anyone have a direct link for a 2836-2 that i can use in my sub? (thats the correct movement, no?) thanks guys.
  19. nice, good taste in watches and in bikes!!!! 749 dark is my next one
  20. congrats, nice impulse buy, jesus what kind of bikes do you have? i drive a ducati monster dark 750
  21. right on bro. i think it looks great!!!! i love that slight bevel. when i did the lugs on my 1680, i noticed the same thing with the metal coming out a bit on the edges, so i use a small sand stone on my dremel to get it off, and it looks good, but yours came out alot more even, so i think on my next one (white 1680 mbw, arriving shortly) i will use the large bit before i start to open the holes a bit so the 1.3mm bit doesnt make the metal punch out, then i have to spend alot of time working the bits off with my needle files, which i will do anyway to make it all as smooth as possible. ps, i used to have a les paul classic that looked just like that, now i just have to black standards and a 62 strat again, nicely done, anyone got and gen inserts?????? :)
  22. very nice, great lugholes, how did you get them with the slight inner bevel if you dont mind me asking
  23. thanks Bill, where did you insert the screwdirver, in the same hole that you insert it to release the crown?
  24. thanks so much, i knew there was a reason why i like it around here
