  1. incentive, hmmmmmmm, 50 virgins upon their entrance to heaven????
  2. Forgive me if this topic has been covered before. Now, the rep manufactures are obviously very good and efficient at making almost perfect reps of the real thing, well, the good manufactures. So my question is, what exactly stops them from making a perfect rep? I would assume it would take the same amount of work to do, and laws are laws, and either way it's illegal. How hard would it actually be to get the font correct on the dial, the date magnification correct and the placement of everything in order. This is directed mostly at rollie reps, but its also a general flaw in all reps. So basically what i'm asking is, whats to stop people from bringing it up a notch and putting out actually perfect replicas? It's not like there's no market for it, lol. But, maybe i've missed something, so if i'm in fact an ignorant fool, shame on me.....
  3. feeling that one, wheeewwww, thats a nice pam, me thinks one must be added to the collection
  4. I saw that one on ebay also and was thinking, "hmmmm, that date magnification sure seems small for a gen 'finger tap.....finger tap....fingertap'" what a douche
  5. I noticed that the steel on the 2 watches looks pretty different. I know that the explorer is 316, do the mbw's use a higher grade steel like the gens?
  6. Finally took a pic of my 2 babies side by side. On the left is my mbw red sub 1680 from a private seller, on the right is my vintage exp II 1655 from Josh. Not a bad looking pair if I must say so myself
  7. I was thinking the same thing, but i did try rubbing alcohol and it didnt affect the insert, so maybe nail polish remover wont either
  8. Got a little superglue on one of my bezel inserts, anyone know anything thats good to get it off?
  9. how exactly do you figure out if you're gaining or losing seconds? do you match it to a digital clock? would love to know
  10. dont know anything about that watch, but Joshua is A+++++++++ cant go wrong with him
  11. ughh, think i'll do it myself, at least i can deal with my own incompetence
  12. classic, and ubi told me thats how the old ones are, they dont click like the modern ones, but mine spins a little too freely, so he told me to pop off the bezel and just adjust the washer spring. of course, i'm scared to death of screwing it up, hahaha
  13. my pleasure, should be nice and educational for us all, at least the ones of us that love vintage
  14. If you havent seen this site already, pretty cool, some good photos to guide you with vintagizing your subs.. http://www.vintagesubmariner.com/
  15. thats what i'm trying to avoid, cause basically i think i just need a bearing but in the bezel for my MBW sub, its moving to loose, and i would hate to see someone ruin my pride and joy for something that simple
  16. thanks for the tip. should i just flat out ask if they're willing to work on a rolex rep???
  17. Does anyone know any rep friendly rolex repair guys in nyc? Please let me know
  18. gonna have to get my hands on one of those gen bezel inserts, so nice
  19. no no, i'll include a bedazzler so you can add any color sequins to the strap you like. of course, they will be rep sequins, i think they're .000000008 of an inch larger, but only the experts can tell
  20. Seriously, i may just have to give it to him!!!
