  1. maybe we should just stick with gunnars way to handle it...
  2. You are bringing back a smile on my face
  3. They opened a gen band a couple of weeks ago and closed it as it didn´t came with a clasp and has nothing saying Rolex on it. But the dial and the band with clasp now saying rolex in different ways and I guess the value on the declaration is not saying everything over 20$ Actually the nostalgia-2000 store is open: http://shop.ebay.de/nostalgia-2000/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340 Or not? did I came in through a backdoor (previous bought items) and it is closed. mmmhhhhh this is going to last....
  4. One of my first reps, not too acurate, but I like it alot and it keeps time for over 6 years now...
  5. I think there are always two things to keep in mind: 1. The right watch, maybe there is on you always look at if you pass by a juwelier or you saw on TV or on another person. For me it was always the standart Submariner and even having one right now it is still the one I am looking at doing windowshopping 2. The right dealer, especially for the first order it is very important to make it an overall nice expirence. Just my 2 cents
  6. Hi! As I am a bit frustrated right now and my wife wouldn
  7. Thank you! I will take a look tomorrow. In fact I want to transfer a date wheel with overlay in to another Movement.
  8. Hi! I might need to change the datewheel (not just the overlay) on two of my 2824s. Does anyone of you have hint or a pic for my on how to do that? Looking forward to your posts...
  9. I would stick with bk and stay away from ETZ, was a 300
  10. Get the Explorer, the milgauss is to big and everyone thinks its a fake DateJust (don´t know why, maybe thats the only watch they know). I got one with no wristtime at all...
  11. Would love to see a pmwf and a ndt, also...
  12. I hope to get a ETZ one in a couple of days and will test it in a 1680, will keep you informed...
  13. Really nice thread!! To give it a even wide overview, let me add these pics: Upper left: Yuki 1680 Insert (shaped it a bit to fit nicer) Upper right: WSO990 with modded pearl (drilled out, widend and filled again) Down: New MBW from a 1680 (no mods) Pics can not be compared with yours, but I am not a big photoguy :-(
  14. Hi! What overlay do you use? does the Yuki dial not accept the standard overlays for the eta movements?
  15. Hi! Thanks for your info. Actually I did it just like you, I only had to cut it 4 times as I was a bit more of a coward But in the end it worked very smooth. After being such a McGyver I even mounted the movement in the yuki case with some Rodico as a movement holder and it also worked like a charm. worst part was placing the hands, as always. Now I am only waiting for the datedisc overlay and the spacer and will do the whole stuff again, but on the other hand I could wear the watch on the weekend (with the date 2 mm aside :-( ) And guess what the movement is keeping time perfectly OTB
  16. You mean in terms of authentacy wearing such a watch? I think I would go with a rep of the old one.
  17. I will try my best with the MBW stem as a blueprint BTW: I already looked for eta stems on eBay ;-)
  18. Mmmmhhhh, I wonder: If you get a rep anyways would you go with a rep of the old 1970 one or with a rep of the new 2010 one?
  19. I have a MBW 1680 with a 2824 here, so the stem lenght might be the same... This is going to cost me a lot of my weekend, as always, hope there is a good movie on this evening for Mrs. Gorilla
  20. Good morning! I just received one of the last parts for my Yuki 1680, a fresh ETA 2824-2 movement from switzerland. First thing was to mount the Tudor rotor and it looks fantastic ;-) But as I am not a big fan of try and error on this project I would ask you how long your 1680 stemps are and how you shorten them. Thank you very much for your help in advance...
  21. Really nice look, but it is also too big, again :-(
  22. I could like the Explorer II, but then again those big hourmarkers... Bigger is just not better...
