In terms of glow. The Yuki hands I've had (and it's been at least a year since I bought any) were fine, lume application was factory, they just skimped on the lume.

Yuki hands are fine, but the lume is just average IMO.

I've used the BK hands he had superlumed by Pbdad and they are fantastic.

I'd bet money that you can't. Why not use the gen part to fix your gen? Even Rolex can't rip you off THAT badly for a nylon ring, right?

The Swatch 284X movements also don't have holes drilled for screws to hold the movement tabs; they were intended to be used with plastic movement holders. Amazing what they'll do to cut costs.

"Changing a dial" is much more complicated than you apparently think it is. Not a dig, just a statement. Lots of things have to be correct before you can swap one dial into another case, and with chronograph dials 99% of the time you can only use the movement that the dial was intended for.

I think I'd take a claim of "service" with a grain of salt...

No, it didn't have the maxi markers. It had those nipple markers.

A7750 hands won't fit a Swiss 7750 movement, FYI. Or at least not all of them will.

I'd pay for pressure testing at $10/watch, but the problem I can see is that it'd cost me an additional $5 to ship stuff to you. So the service would only make sense if you're willing to waterproof the ones that fail, I think.

I've driven a three on the tree. It was a WEIRD experience. (It's a type of manual transmission.) For those who are cheap hobbyists like me, here's a suggestion: buy just the cups (I got a lot of cheap cups on eBay a while back) and use the edge of a desk + a medium sized metal c-clamp as a case press. Total investment <$10.

It can be too large to fit in the case with the gasket installed, but still smaller than the physical opening in the case. That's why he has to glue it, because it won't press-fit into the gasket. If you find a crystal that fits the gasket let us know, the rep community has been looking for one forever. Otherwise, having a crystal glued in is your only option. If it's done carefully and correctly, it'll be almost as good as new.

Honestly, I've never had a movement serviced with the cost of running Swiss ETA movements nowadays compared to a service, I just do a movement swap whenever I have a movement start to die.

Silicone = glue, basically. It's better than not having a crystal.

I haven't seen a CHS GMT IIc in a long time. If one ever pops up I might have to grab it. I've had a dozen or so GMT modded 2836's, and never had a problem that couldn't be fixed.

I still use WM pearls, but I've found I have to buy several and pick out the good ones. Makes them much less cost-effective.

A three-hand movement swap is fairly easy. A gmt movement swap can be pretty hard.
