I had one of these which ended up with a gen backcase (mix up at the shop)when trying on a gen backcase to see if parts fitted i swopped it for a gen pre-moonwatch and i want to replace it it was one of the most gen like watches i ever had except that the buckle was thicker than the gen but i want to replace it mabe i wait to see the ceramic but im not keen on see tru backs !
-
They have been known to take a year to make production but i bet they will do it in less time for this, unless they use a case they already have like mabe the project x

Correction its the eta 2892-A2 base movement (just blown up the photo!
-
Omega 2892-2 eta base movement these are super movements and franken builders are crying out for these movements and you have almost a watch here if i had this i would get a new old stock case and build it using only gen parts ! im guessing the dial say 140-260usd and the movement 380-580 usd on the higher end if it is cosc certified which i dont think it is, if working ok and the crystal 100usd other member can give you a better estimate on what to pay these omega eta movements very rare to come on the market
-
The Hands are the correct snowflake its possible that there may be aftermarket parts im not an expert the rotor looks gen not sure if the movement should have additional printings like on a rolex movement the watch looks very uniform in colour tone the backcase isnt the smoothback type i mean has a flat area this i have seen on aftermarket backcases again im not sure there are tudor experts on rwg that will be able to help you
-
Thats a super watch there ! nanunq! Always thought that the 6538 should be reissued so im planning to do it my self using helelarou 6538 saphire crystal sterile case and the only thing it will have is a rolex sub or tudor(logo) chapter dial the rest willbe sterile no ageing at all and although a fantasy 6538 it should look totaly cool! and an addition to our vintage subs with a more modern flavor hell mabe i will do both tudor and rolex as im planning a blackbay style tudor build using a 6538 case .

Then again going by the high quality franken work , it could be a franken (Lol!) Gen forums are getting scared regarding the near perfect (refinished dials) that are comming out these days and turning to forensic type analysis From what we have seen this look can be replicated today if i saw these photos on here i would say very nice franken the work on here is just amazing. seriously i agree that the watch while not in prestine condition notably the crown condition ,and the dial does look like it has been worked on but today its the patina that adds to the value faded inserts and dials and so on. The tudor dials were very fragile and aged very quickly then they made the more indestructable show flake dials for the military/navy.

Have you got a link for the brevet crown i want one and how did you age the dial i love it?
-
Old version for me i used to have a noob tt with a gen crystal wish i still had it !
-
Very well done ! and a nice piece! wear it well !
-
Get a yuki the cheaper option will cost you in the end with mods so start with a yuki as you said and work up !
-
i believe the dial opening is 28mm the cartels have feedback from the forums to be able to perfect there cases but they use the same parts, cases and so one for different models .
-
why cant they get the dial size correct beats me ! the only cartel case that fits a 26mm dial is my puretime 1680 case which i used for my 5513 build i found the case very well made for a cartel save the crystal retaining plastic ring which once removed can not be refitted and the other problem with these cartels is the lazer etching i have not found a case that matches the yuki case who will use unique serial numbers
-
Good question i did not see any details if these are for gen movements we need them for gen and if we are to fit eta we can use an adaptor has anyone here purchased one?
-
Im disapointed that we dont have a decent 6538 with a reasonable price so i have ordered a sterile from ruhelena site its got a saphire crystal and the bezel is none gen specs but because its a sterile im building it as a modernised version ,with steriles gives you the freedom to go custom so it will be like a new reissue (fantasy 6538) a sort of rolex blackbay and its rated at 100m so will be a toolwatch i just like the contruction of these cases call it a hibrid or a homage mabe rolex should make a reissue of the 6538 but what will it look like ? Im fitting a full rolex logo/printing version of this dial the rest will be sterile ! Love the bezel profile on this case
-
I love there pan-am white gmt dial looks great !
-
Im impressed ! and you know what i like about it the price some cases that are around 1500usd plus a gen movement another 1500usd and extras gen crown and so on you get close to the price of a 14060 gen and at the end of the day its still a replica gen movements are expensive but you are already 1000usd ahead !
-
Funny thing is the dial looks brown in the flesh the teak laquer has turned the dial into a tropic but strangely it does not pick it up in the photos
-
Frankens can cost the same as a 14060 so ask yourself one question (omg) i sound like dirty harry) did you build your franken because like me you can not afford to buy a gen or you build it because of the pleasure in the build and the fun of building a watch that is very hard to tell its not a gen mabe after owning the gen you may find yourself getting bored of the gen where as the franken you can make more mods after all they are just watches ,
-
The dial looks a lot better in a case im not sure if i will use the dial i was going to bin it but i do have a spare cartel 6538 case and a set of aged hands i will use the same finish to the merc hands as the markers. i need to practice keeping the lume inside the rings the dial has completely changed from a flat yellow printed finish

thanks mjmj still a bit of work to perfect it still !
-
JoeyB thanks they look very authentic i think you are correct i am going to use a spray paint grey (silvery colour that is used for antique metal garden furiture it gives an old look as i cant do much about the coronet and writing but as you said i will try and apply it by hand the good thing is that with the many coats of laquer and mistakes should be able to wipe of and redo as loog as there is no reaction !
