The watch - yes...bracelet - sorry no :-( If they ever decide to rep it, the makers will be challenged with yet another A7750 mod with registers and totalisers in all the "wrong" places, ultimately making the mov't hard to produce and too thick for the original case height. The model will have to be very popular as a gen, for rep makers to even consider it, so I'd say unlikely. babola

Luminor Power Reserve Pam 028A - Back from Ziggy
babola replied to fishgodeep's topic in The Panerai Area
Great collective effort! Wonderful watch...as gen-like as these great reps come!!! Love it b -
Nice one mate, truly a masterpiece! Have one of those DSN 7750 DWs myself, still a bit thin font for my taste and closeness to gen, but I'm out of Lello's so it will do just fine as a substitute Wear it in good health! b

Hio mate, long time no speak yup, closed caseback or e-series one, both quite tricky to find but if Jitai has one on offer - get it while still can :-) Saw that mov't myself, it's the first e-series Swiss ETA version with pointy needle S/N, definitely not Asian, bridges and decos are, but the drivetrain is ETA 6497-1 slower beat. Wear it in good health and keep in touch! cheers, babola

Unfortunately that dial is substandard, not of EL quality. It may be from later versions of EL Fiddys that came with wrong dial txt color, but ultimate EL dial it isn't...sorry.

Look in your supermarket for 3M Scotch Brite heavy-duty scouring pad. Go for the green one (yellow sponge side), avoid the one with pink sponge backed with the dark purple pad. Check the ebay for pen eraser pens, I don't use these but they would be a better choice for the small surface brushing as well fixing the scratches, they reporteddly work well especialy on Ti brushed cases. have fun...

None of the gen crowns are flat-top. Pre-V and post-H series crowns have a curve and a flare towards the outer edge, while A-F have just a curve, both top-down as well as reducing curve from the case side towards the pin. Angus/Ruby 111E CG is good, but not great, the top is almost flat and the lever shape isn't quite right. Also top of the lever needs a little re-work to make the flat cutout at the top a bit more round. I have 2 S/S from Angus (111E) and one Ti from Ruby (PAM036 MM), they come from the same factory, different from the "standard" one. I also found the half-moon shape a little narower on Angus' CG. IMO, the best CGs were the ones that use dto come on 'standard' Pam 44mm rep cases in 05/06, but the finish and fit on some of those left a lot to be desired. The major issu was overdoing the curve at the top, ultimately resulting in CG being too thin. Keep an eye on sale forums, and/or post a WTB from time to time. There are plenty of good CGs still around. cheers, babola

Does this piece exist or is this a fantasy model?

So what happened to H0197/2000 caseback and where did you get that serial from...?! Confusion abounds... -

Can you post a pic of that caseback? If what you said is true and the shape/form and engraving is close to the real thing, than the value of the caseback with that serial # comes very close to the cost of sourcing the correct replacement dial and hands for that model, which you can order separately. -
Quick Y/N - Does the Gen pam005 logo have AR?

What Ken said, and make sure you don't skimp on postage service when you send it back. Trackable service like EMS or similar is a MUST IMO. good luck, babola -
Actually I don't mind the crown, the new beveled CG is really not my favourite, somehow out-of-sync with the rest of the rounded and curved case lines. You reckon they somehow got hold of The Zigmeister's custom T-lume mix? LOL! cheers, babola

Except for the fact that this one is a rep of a full-size GPF 2/56 Egiziano. The baby-Egiziano is the 6154 Rad that came housed in Luminor 47mm case with Rolex crown.

Bonnati's echelon loosing a plot...slowly but steadily. Some interesting ideas, but most of it is jut one big yawn. I'm sure others will disagree, but this is how I feel about direction Panerai's taken since last year's SIHH.

Send it back. You've received a bastardized Luminor rep with Radiomir dial and hands. -
Two very different dials. All the recent Fiddy dials come with brown-ish dial txt, are painted in dark charcoal instead of black, and an overhang in numeral 1 in 12 o'clock is slightly wrong. Otherwise not bad watch altogether. BTW, Xtal isn't bad at all on this one.

The problem with PAM127 reps these days is that they're gone backwards finish and quality wise. Also, many dealers use old rep photos in their advertisements. The pictures on that link show old-school "EddieLee" type Fiddy from the late '05 - early '06. These are not available anymore. Both the dial (correct dial txt font and color) and xtal (correct shape, dome, and dome 'break-point') you see on those pics are now long gone and out of production. Be careful...and keep an eye on rep forums sale sections from time to time. There were few very nice 127s that exchanged hands in recent few months here and other forums. Hope this helps, babola

Yup, that's correct Dado. It's true for not only Fiddys but other models as well.
-
Very nice example, I like it!
-
I'm with you Peeps, the dial txt still needs a little 'polishing up' on print quality and thickness for a $300 dial, I agree. And the price is actualy gone up, hovering around 1K at the mo...

And just as we thought Pam reps starded to get better...
babola replied to babola's topic in The Panerai Area
I looked and looked hard for one thing that could be correct on this watch...so far I couldn't find any. Even the engraving on stick-on mov't plates is wrong, and that was one of the norms that hasn't changed for over 5 years now. How about that crown, oversized CG, thin and centered CG lever, smaller Fiddy sized CG screws, fat lugs, wider caseback Ti ring, dial with indices and numerals pushed completely towards the rehaut, that Radiomir hand set with pseudo painted cannon pin cap... Xtal could be close to 1:1, but everything else is pretty badly replicated Panerai watch. -
...we've been presented with this "beauty" for our consideration. Guys, this is pretty bad, bordering on Canal st stuff "Updated Model"...it sure is! http://www.jpc8118.com/pn03601-titanium-to...497-p-5502.html

I'm sure Kruzer will miss it sometime in the future...;-)

No kidding...LOL...I thought that's where the 'Little' comes from You sure?

The dial txt isn't exactly off-white, more like recent standard brown-ish. Digicam WB also plays a big factor there, with most dial txt and lume color appering whiter than they really are. The xtal distorsion isn't that great either, unless yo ulike your dial appear like looking thru bottom of Coke bottle. Sorry to be blunt like this, but in a few words this is how I feel about it.
