  1. F, I believe my MBW 1680 has the exact same case. The crown height is right up there where it should be and very close to that of my gen Tudor sub. The usual MBW 1680/5513 cases have the crown low on the case.

BTW, very nice Tudor you have there. B)

I would also be very interested in photos of of Phong's Tudor creations. Not that I need one but if they are excellent, I would be tempted. :D This is a bit off subject but his Tudor Monte Carlo with the correct big block case is one very sweet watch. I wonder what the group buy price of that would be?

La La La La La!! -I'm not listening. I don't want to hear if a group buy on the Tudor Monte Carlo is doable :p:lol:

  2. i have heard quite often about this Phong character, how do i contact him. where do i see his offers?

$500 sound good to me. Keep me posted too.

DVN, Phong is proprietor of Jewelryandwatch.com, I've purchase a few items through him and they were very smooth transactions. He's a nice guy and has some great products albeit pricey.

This will be great if it comes together Ken! I know a lot of members here would jump at a nice snowflake sub.

  3. Bertieng,

Here is a replacement flat T19 next to a superdome.

T39 superdomes have a slightly different curvature to the dome vs. the T19, not to mention they're taller. I once bought a T19 and got a T39 by mistake B) .

    I hope that helps.

  4. Wow, my two favorite cocktails - Manhattan and Sidecar.

I'm impressed with the Sidecar mention, it's so obscure.

I really enjoy making cocktails at home for friends, makes me feel very urbane and gracious

I always try to use fresh squeezed lemon juice in my cocktails really makes a difference.

tmg, if you want to try something a bit different, substitute gin for the cognac in your Sidecar, I think it's really good and tangy.

Thanks Rek, Sidecar's have been my drink for years! That's me, a bit obscure when it comes to cocktails

I'll have to try the gin some time, thanks for the suggestion.

  5. Thanks!

Did your valjoux 72 dw case fit the movement without issues?

Love your tudor monaco..How much time they did take to build your watch?

My DW 6263 is the mystery movement model that I had a VJ23 put into, the only thing was new movement holders had to be made as I recall.

The Monte Carlo was actually in stock at J&W :thumbsupsmileyanim: .

  6. Definitely a classic...However, don't use sour mix, use fresh juice whenever possible. Sub in fresh lemon juice for the sour and add 1/2 oz. simple syrup.

Simple syrup is easy to make...equal parts of sugar and water...that's it!

Sub in the fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and Cointreau and you've nailed it! B)

Dudro, I used to make them w/o the sweet and sour too, but I'm getting lazy in my old age with making simple syrup . I still squeeze in some fresh lemon for good measure.
