yes that's correct. for me it is simple to take the sead crown-guards, sead have them available again. the oem crown with double o-ring on the crown-neck ( also the davidsen oem version ) ) has for me the best windup feeling. currently i have the 009a with an old school case, 005K case with the necessary modifications for the 002a is in work by my watchmaker. all the best rolli -
normally i wear it on the right wrist, and it is easier to bind, but meantime i wear the straps on the correct side of the pam again, but still on the right wrist. rolli

i would suggest a h-maker 05K case type with non AR 005K sapphire and sead a-f serie polished crown-guard, sead said it is available again, also in titanium. oem crown type from davidsen, modding with custom tube. caseback from davidsen or jacobb. maybe the pam members have other prossibilities as recommendation. regards rolli -

dear grimlocktime, compliment for your decision to keep it as 002a pam. top model and looks amazing. at the moment i have still the 009a with old school case. but i love it with an tantalium color strap in preV shape made by ciampi / italy ( former original strapmaker for panerai ) to your question, why we have no triium filled by rc tritec. 1.) rc tritec was all the time the main developer of the tritium material. 2.) the tritium material was mixed with color pigment material in for of powder C3. 3.) a special non light resistent varnish was used to mix the tritium. 4.) only companies with a special tritium coating room and a large extraction units and employees with white special security clothing and face mask had the permission to worked with tritium. after a european law about the use of the radioactive material , also tritium, so all the companied which worked with tritium with the dial and hands coating, and suddenly they had no more the permission to work with tritium. and so till 2007 all companies had to dispose to eliminate all their rest material of tritium. to this time rc tritec had still tritium available, and also was ordered to dispose of all in stock. one of the last tritium pam was in 2007 the submersible 243. and in the same or following year came the L-dial version 243. to your questiom, of your i discussed about the tritium posibility to get in our dials. but they have nothing and it may no longer handled. that's why we decided to developed a real looking tritium simulated triple power super luminova high grade-a material and rc tritec made on my sample material a spectrac analysis, and produced only for me special tritium simulated materials in highest form of super luminova, also a non matched color for the hand was developed by me and also produced for me by rc tritec. we have it with an own customer number and it is not buyable for other customers. rc tritec make all our indices filling work in cluding the hands with the special dosing maching with the special handpiece stylograph. the stylograph is a special rc tritec development and was built by a austria company. for example: in the case that tritium would be still available, then only in the color C3, and the question, when came the yellowed patina effect, this is written in heaven. and we decided to make a tritium simulation with an amazing burn-out patina effect, let us say…. a burn-out efect after 10 or 15 years, and if you look on your watch, you see always the wow effect direct, and don't need the patience to get it in maybe 10 years. and an additional effect is, it has the necessary luminosity, so i am sure you will have much joy with your 002a pam. all the best and regards rolli

Review: FGD's and Rolli's magnificent 002/009 dial!

if you have questions about this dial, send me a PM. this dial has no points of criticism, about quality, exactness, precision, look. to make this kind of quality dial, there are necessary many steps. who makes the professional vector graphic in dxf file, that autocad can read it ???? or who makes direct the vector graphic in autocad ???? cnc machines can read autocad. autocad is an engineering program which has all the control functions for the cnc machines. which further steps are necessary to get this precision and look ???? which dial maker can make this high precision work in swiss oem standard and technology ???? you need a high end equipment and cnc machine park which is more than several million euro expensive. only this kind of dial maker can make this dial, only this kind of dial maker has the engineer and employees with experiences. look around on the watch brand market, you will see this kind of dial maker who works for the best watch brands on market. it exist only a handful of this kind of dial maker in swizzerland with an top machine park to make all possibilities for dials. the rest of dial maker are smaller companies which makes simple dial work or print work, and mostly for watches around the price range of 600,-- - 2000,-- euro. every year is a basel trade fair and over the year many many small trade fairs in europe. how many watches comes new from all watch brands ??? that means every year = how many dials come new ???? and from all dial maker is highest precision work required. how many of you know exactly the making steps of a high end oem dial ???? i know it exactly, because i have studied the complete making including the vector graphic !!!!!!!! in all processes are limits. but you can get everything but then only with a large investment. you can make a coinage tool which will be used for dials with a production number of minimum of 150 and more dials. then this coinage stamp tool costs € 2000 - € 2500,--. then you don't need the cnc machine for the recessed indices. but if you make only 10 or 20 dials, then it woud be not appropriate to invest this money for the coinage tool. then the cnc machine makes the same quality work for the recessed indices. the special brass alloy gets the polishing and then the glass bead blasting surface before it comes in the galvaic bath for the black color, which is only possible with a special brass alloy, and with a special chemical bath and the special brass alloy you get the different dial colors like black, blue, champagne, copper, bronze, silver, green. all these colors you already have seen in top watches. and one of the important making step is the printing process. here is the pad printing process required. important and one of the oem standards is the swiss berlac AG paint. worldwide the only one manufacturer for paints based on pantone or ral color pallet. and the only one and the best manufacturer for dial paints and for letterings. why berlac ??? it's the development on the viscosity and consistency. for dials you need a perfect viscosity and consistency. and you would see the difference if you would use another paint. my lettering is made only with berlac paint. this white is not a standard white, on black it would be too bright, so.. it is a broken white, old chalk white mixed. that you get a perfect color balance between the indices color and the non-matched hands color. never forget the quality of all materials for the dial. it's more than important. the material decides on quality and on the look. best materials are pricey, here was not the question, where we can economize. oem quality never ask about the price range. it costs like it costs. know how and skill and experiences ask never about when it is pricey. and now we come to the tritium simulated lume material, it's a high grade-A super luminova special for me developed material, which looks like tritium with an after 10 years burn-out effect. indices filled direct by rc tritec. preV handset got a tritium simulated super luminova grade-A material in non-matched color. we have a dial made of 1,0 mm thick special brass alloy, movement feets placed by a special jig for unitas 6497 and then the feet welded, in a special jig for unitas feets are milled 0,5 mm recessed indices with a cnc machine, fine work brushing and surface polishing, fine glass bead blasting, galvanic bath black, a thin layer of zapon varnish around the dial as protection against fingerprints and damage of the black galvanic surface. i hope there is a small insight about the dial making. we have used one of the best swiss dial maker and the best materials and finishing. all the best rolli -

This is why PVD coatings can make you crazy...

fom C-serie the pure lume material was C3 from rctritec, the varnish could be different, some c-serie have matt varnish mixed, some with slightly glossy, from d-serie all lume mixes were matt. today i heard also the 061 gen has matt indices. note: C3 is the standard lume on all watch brands, onyl some newer watch models and versions from the last 3 years have rctritec its old radium as lume material inside. old radium grade-A based with super luminova with a beige brownish tint. rolli

029B serie is 1000 percent C3 with high glossy Varnish. here some genuine pix of the 029M = C3 with high glossy Varnish ( Varnish is A62 ) he should order the original from rc tritec in quality grade-A ( 1 gram = € 59,-- incl shipping costs and VAT ) unfortunately Domi has an dosing machine with an injection for the lume work, the problem is, he has to put in the injection too much mixed C3/varnish, minimum 3 - 4 grams, if he had the very expensive stylograph from rc tritec, than he could fill in the hand piece only 1 gram or lesser. the most dialmaker have also the dosing machine with the injection and needle for lume work, and that's why the eat the lume minimum several grams, was always too expensive. now i have the possibility to get it with the stylograph. domi should buy a stylograph hand piece. rolli

all gen pams with a whitish lume color is standard C3. C3 is whitish cream and gets its greenish tint in this moment when day and sunlight comes on the indices. rc tritec never mixed for costomers the C3 with C1. this is a fantasy statement. automatic dials have mostly a basic print with the small minute markers and th marker und numeral print for the later lume material screen print on top of the with peint. the white paint print on the dial is only for a better lume power effect, because the rc tritec lume materials are developed for a white basic paint print for the lume marker. rc tritec coated a very small part, they are mainly developer of lume material based on the pantone colors, a partner company in swizzerland coated the lume material, which is 95 % of all watch brands and models and versions, no watch brands company can the complete new collection handle, so this swiss company makes only the lume coating job, day by day. so......again so long as i read , gen watches or pams are lumed with a mix of C3 + C1 is totally nonsense. keep it in your mind by the way, i only use for dials for C-serie and later serie only C3 in High Grade-A Quality super luminosity, like the gen once, and it is mixed with high glossy or semi glossy varnish from rc-tritec. varnish = semi matt A60 or high glossy A62, all the varnishes from rc tritec are special developed for the work with their lume materials. rolli

and now just imagine you had a high end dial installed which has mixed triple super luminova power lume mixed with UV820 non light resistent tritium varnish which has a fine tint of patina and additional on top a layer of UV820 varnish which has resin inside. and all this made from a top company what would you think ???? rolli
