  1. These questions remind me of some recent posts regarding waterproofing and such :)

I've read the Watch Snob for a while now, the writers (and there are more than one, I guarantee it) always put on a good-natured rubbing. Perhaps we could answer those banal questions with similar zest? :)

  2. This guy would have done far far better to pay full retail at his local watch store... In-house guarantee, return to base, and would have saved a bundle... It's utterly ironic and almost laughable that the rep dealers here are so eager to help. Considering the exorbitant costs for gens, one would think decent customer service is what contributes to the watch costing so much. Stories like the above make one's blood boil...

  3. i carry a gun in my pocket everyday.

    not to thread crap

althought i would like to know where your from as well, where you can carry these knives?

My point exactly, I'm assuming you also have a CCW license and are well versed and well trained in its use.

A pocket knife is equally deadly and obviously very available, hence the comment. I didn't say don't buy them, I'd love to have one of these Microtechs, I wouldn't carry it on a night out on the town though :)

Still getting a flak jacket for my 'roo though, he's a friendly bastard but all you Yanks want to do is blow his head off with your .45's!

P.S. The last time I saw a kanga was about 5 years ago, and it was on the side of the road and very much dead

  4. My Hawaiian Brother sent me my old 6152-1 for a transplant!:D i just thought it would be neat to take a quick pic before it goes under the knife:D

I thought the 44mm was big... Holy crapola! That thing looks HUUUGE!

(just going to drop in a pre-emptive "that's what she said" :))

  5. Breitlng sponsor all sorts of events, they are also heavily involved in the Red Bull Air Race series (almost every pilot is wearing a superquartz B-1 or similar).

This achievement is pretty special, but no doubt costly. It should be no wonder that they charge 5000+ bucks for a 350 dollar movement in a stainless steel case :)

But credit where credit is due, they make some gorgeous pieces. I'll always be a Breitling guy (even though I wear a PAM 111 daily) :)

  6. love the attempt to circumvent the system! EPIC FAIL!

I caught this before it got nuked, it WAS a pretty clever post, if I'm fair to the OP... :)

    Paraphrased loosely...

"I'm having trouble uploading pictures of my (insert watch model) and it's a shame because It's (insert amazing-sounding description of said watch) and I was wanting to sell it...

    Nicely played :)

  7. Koz u mite accidentally kill subbie's Kangaroo!:pardon:

    Hahaha! Bite me Hike :)

Yanks and their preoccupations with concealed weapons... I have found the need to take Krav Maga lessons because of concealed-carrying crazies like you!

But this retracting knife genuinely irks me. It's obviously much easier to obtain than a gun, and it's so small it could probably be concealed easily, you just don't know who could be carrying one.

    Take home point, I'm getting my kangaroo a kevlar-blocked bullet-proof vest... :)

  8. They could have at least done the GMT hand as well, I don't really mind it, but the lume seems to be applied quite badly in parts

I'm viewing the pic on a crappy iPhone screen and can see the shocking lume application, it's TERRIBLE!!!!!

    What a piece of crap...

    Edit:

Also, look at the 10, 12 and 14 bezel markers and how horribly inconsistent the enamel application is... That's shocking! Plus the PVD looks crap, I think it's TiAlN, which fingerprints like crazy.

  9. I have grown out of hating the B01 bezel into being able to handle it, becuase I like the rest of the watch so much. Really do like the GMT complication. Bout time B got into adding onto their B01 module as it was designed for.

It's refreshing to see that they can at least justify their high prices somewhat by offering an in-house movement, something that much younger companies such as Maurice Lacroix have been doing for some time now...
